General Hospital spoilers for next week’s episodes tease that things in Port Charles are anything but merry.

It should be the most wonderful time of the year, but it’s not for the Quartermaine family.

What should have been a fun Christmas party turned into Willow (Katelyn MacMullen) and Drew’s (Cameron Mathison) sexcapade being outed.

There’s also Cyrus (Jeff Kober) creeping around town, killing and hurting people on a whim. He was the one who killed Sam (Kelly Monaco), and he did the same to Dex (Evan Hofer).

Next week is the last week of episodes airing all five weekdays for the year, so it will be packed with drama to send out 2024 with a bang.

Fallout from Dex’s death

After Dex’s death shocked General Hospital viewers on Friday’s episode, the fallout will affect Port Charles.

General Hospital has recently revealed the departure of actor Evan Hofer. Notably, the actor has been portraying Dex Heller on the soap since May 5, 2022. The actor himself and his cast-mates, have also talked about the decision to write off the character.

Evan Hofer Is Going To Be Leaving Port Charles

Many of Hofer’s earliest roles was on children’s shows. These include Kickin’ It, The Haunted Hathaways, and The Thundermans. One of his more prominent roles was in the BYUtv series Dwight in Shining Armor.

In 2022, Hofer joined the cast of General Hospital. He plays the character of Dex Heller, a discharged army vet. At one point, the character notably got hired as a mole within Sonny Corinthos’ organization by his adopted son Michael.

CBS has announced that it will air repeats of “The Price is Right” to fill the 2:00 p.m. Et/1:00 p.m. Pt slot soon to be vacated by “The Talk. “

Following the series finale episode of the veteran daytime talk show, which concludes its 15 season run on Friday, December 20, encore episodes of the popular game show will take over the time slot beginning Monday, December 23. It’ll be the placeholder until the new daytime drama series, “Beyond the Gates,” premieres on Monday, February 24, 2025.

According to the network, the placement of encore episodes marks the only change to the daytime schedule, with its other shows, including original episodes of “The Price is Right,” remaining in their respective time slots.

While much information has been teased about his departure, one things fans don’t know just yet is how the character will be written off. As an actor, Duell got his start in a few Disney Channel shows. In 2010, however, he would join General Hospital as Michael Corinthos, having taken on the role from Drew Garrett.

Days of our Lives legend Wayne Northrop, the original Roman Brady, passed away last week. And today, we look at his life, legacy and touching tribute from co-stars from Dool and his wife Lynn Herring’s co-stars at General Hospital.

Lynn shared the news that she’d lost her dear husband Wayne. He passed away Wednesday, Nov 27, 2024, at the age of 77. At the time he died, Wayne Northrop was in the care of the Motion Picture and Television Home.

His wife revealed that back in 2018, six years ago, Wayne was diagnosed with early-onset Alzheimer’s. And it was complications of the illness that took his life. Lynn said, “Wayne took his last breath in the arms of his family”.

Days of our Lives (Dool) news shows that there is sad news to report, actor Wayne Northrop has died at the age of 77. He played Roman Brady on the Peacock sudser, appearing in over 1,036 episodes of the show from 1981 to 2006.

The actor’s publicist, Cynthia Snyder, told TMZ that Northrop Northrup died on Friday, November 29 at the Motion Picture and Television Woodland Hills Home, which is an assisted living facility for veterans of the film industry.

Just as we’re reeling from the on-screen death of Doug Williams a year after Bill Hayes’ passing and the more recent off-screen death of Drake Hogestyn, Deadline reports that Wayne Northrop has passed away.

Northrop played an additional role on Days of Our Lives and appeared on Dynasty, but he will forever be known to Days fans as the actor who originated the role of Roman Brady.

Port Charles recently said a heartbreaking goodbye to Sam (ex-Kelly Monaco) after she died (or was she killed?) from a heart attack post-surgery. Before that, Finn (ex-Michael Easton) said farewell when he entered rehab after falling off the wagon. Before Easton arrived in Port Charles as McBain, Silas, and Finn, respectively, the actor first entered the world of Gh as Caleb on the spin-off Port Charles. The show ran for six seasons on ABC, two of which starred Easton as the unforgettable vampire.

When it comes to soaps, fans can expect quite a few characters to come and go over the years. However, fans of General Hospital are starting to think the show has been seeing too many cast changes as of late. In fact, some viewers are wondering about the direction the soap is heading.

People Are Coming & Going Rather Quickly In Port Charles

Known to be a bit hyperbolic when it comes to his status at “General Hospital,” often claiming to have been “written out” or his “run is done,” only to return shortly thereafter, this time actor Kin Shriner appears to be done for good as Scott Baldwin on the ABC daytime drama series, according to some of his recent posts on X (formerly Twitter).

In response to fans inquiring about when his next appearance on the soap opera might be, Shriner claims to have “no plans” of returning. Further, he said a flat “no” when a fan asked that very question.

The actor, who has portrayed Michael Corinthos on the soap since 2010, made a post on Instagram today sharing that he felt it was the “right time” in his life to exit.

“After many incredible years with General Hospital, I’ve decided to step away from the show,” he wrote in a statement, alongside a cast photo. “This wasn’t an easy decision for me, but it feels like the right time in my life. I’m beyond grateful to Frank Valentini, the cast, crew, and everyone behind the scenes who have been like family to me throughout this amazing journey.”

He talked about it being the “right time” in his life to step away. There was no context for why he chose to walk away, but he recently welcomed a baby with his girlfriend.

Currently, Michael is involved in one of the hot-button storylines on the ABC soap. The character needs to continue, which begs whether a recast will step in immediately.

Things in Port Charles have been turned upside down this month, and as Sam’s (Kelly Monaco) death continues to affect her loved ones, her gift to Lulu (Alexa Havins) will continue to live on.

As Ava’s (Maura West) trial begins, everyone must relive the pain of losing the baby Kristina (Kate Mansi) was carrying for Molly (Kristen Vaganos) and Tj (Tajh Bellow). This family has been through the wringer, and it doesn’t look to be letting up anytime soon.

Meanwhile, things with Sam’s children appear to be coming into place. The Quartermaine mansion is about to become much fuller in the coming weeks.

In a viral video posted to X (formerly Twitter) last Friday, “General Hospital” star Kelly Monaco can be seen giving a good speech to the cast and crew of the daytime drama series as she finished filming her final scenes as Sam McCall, which aired Friday, November 1.

“I’ve been on this lot for 25 years, and you have all been my family – not only my second family but my first family – and I just thank each and every one of you for all these memories and this experience that I’ll take with me for the rest of my life,” said an emotional Monaco, as she held back tears while holding a bouquet.

“Mark Teschner [show’s Casting Director], you started this whole journey for me and it has been a wild ride,” Monaco noted in her speech the 21 years she played Sam on “General Hospital” and her more than three-year run as Livvie Locke on “Port Charles.

Havins spoke with TV Insider ahead of her big return to daytime television. She told the publication that she didn’t want to be like the previous actresses — Julie Marie Berman and Emme Rylan — who portrayed the character.

“In no way, shape, or form do I want to mimic the other two ladies. I’m not trying to be them in any way,” Havins said. “Julie’s Julie and Emme’s Emme. Obviously, it’s going to be a more mature version of her, and I’m me, and I can’t be them.

“Lulu is a spitfire,” continued the actress.

Following up on this week’s announcement that “Beyond the Gates” will premiere Monday, February 24, 2025 on CBS, the network is formally announcing the show’s writing team.
