Lobstrosities is a Patreon-only segment of The Losers’ Club that journeys into the barren wastelands of Stephen King movies and sequels. In the past, they’ve covered Pet Sematary 2, Creepshow 3, A Return to ‘Salem’s Lot, every sequel to Sometimes They Come Back, and a third of the Corn franchise. Today, in light of its 25th anniversary, the gang is unlocking their 2020 installment on the 1999 sequel, The Rage: Carrie 2.
Directed by Katt Shea, the direct sequel to Brian De Palma‘s Carrie follows Rachel Lang (Emily Bergl), the younger, also-telekinetic half-sister of Carrie White, who learns that her best friend’s suicide was prompted by a group of dickhead male classmates who exploited her sexually. The film brings back Amy Irving as Sue Snell and stuffs enough connective tissue between the cracks to make this whole thing work as a sequel.

Rhys Darby and Taika Waititi will be romancing the high seas once more thanks to an enormous outpouring of love and support from the show’s fans. This post contains spoilers for "John Wick: Chapter 4."
Movies and television are, of course, primarily visual mediums; having looks that kill goes a long way for an actor's career. However, one must not discount sound completely — having an extraordinary voice can also make an actor that much more desirable.
One of the world's greatest living voices belongs to Clancy Brown, and he's been handsomely rewarded for it (rightfully) with a lengthy and storied career. Brown's honeyed, dulcet tones have graced the screen in everything from "The Adventures of Buckaroo Banzai Across the 8th Dimension" to "The Ballad of Buster Scruggs," and his versatile character voices have turned up in animation as varied as series like "Gargoyles" and "Spongebob SquarePants."
Director Chad Stahelski is certainly well aware of Brown's prowess as a character actor, including his formidable presence and commanding voice. The actor brings all of this to his performance...

Director Mary Lambert cut her teeth on a lot of big-name music videos throughout the ’80s, including Madonna, The Eurythmics, Chris Isaak, and Janet Jackson. But her big splash in the horror world came in 1990 when she adapted perhaps one of Stephen King’s darkest novels, Pet Sematary. Lambert leveraged melodrama in the original film to explore the dark places we go in the midst of grief. But for the 1992 sequel, Lambert swaps out an operatic tone for something grungier, meaner, funnier, and, dare I say it, better?
When the original Pet Sematary pulled in $57.1 million off an $11.5 million budget, Paramount promptly chomped at the bit to produce a sequel. Although King had written the screenplay for the first film, he passed on coming up with something for a sequel as he got the sense that a follow-up would just tell the same story all over again. Lambert had an...

Tagline: "Sometimes Dead is Better." A new horror film is coming by way of Stephen King's Pet Sematary. This latest production is from Paramount Pictures. And, this film brings a fresh look to some old material. Horror fans will already know that the first film, from director Mary Lambert, debuted in 1989. This film was followed-up by a sequel in 1992, titled Pet Sematary II. Most recently, a documentary was released on the original film - Unearthed & Untold: The Path to Pet Sematary. All of the previous material deals with a burial site, haunted by a Native American spirit; it brings the dead back to life. Now, King's book will be reimagined for the big screen as seen in this first trailer. The first trailer shows several children, mostly masked, in and around rural Maine. They have created a burial site, for their small cats and dogs. When a new family moves in nearby,...

Happy October, readers! Over the last few years, I’ve put together various lists of horror movies from a variety of streaming platforms, but for 2018, I thought it might be fun to do some themed lists of what’s available on all the different streaming services, in case you happened to be in a mood for a particular kind of film. Because let’s be honest, we’ve all fallen down the rabbit hole of endlessly searching for something to watch after we’ve scrolled through hundreds of available titles on Netflix, Vudu, Tubi TV, Shudder, and the like.
So, for this first installment of our special “From Streams to Screams” column series this month, I’ve put together a rundown of 25 different supernatural-themed movies that should undoubtedly get you into the Halloween spirit (see what I did there?). The film: Jeff (Edward Furlong) watches as his actress mother Renee (Darlanne Fluegel) is killed in a tragic accident on set. After the funeral, Jeff and his father Chase (an impressively turtlenecked Anthony Edwards) take up residence in her hometown of Ludlow, Maine to recover. Jeff befriends the stepson of the local Sheriff Gus (Clancy Brown) and learns of the history of the Creed family and their unfortunate demise. When Gus kills his stepson’s dog, Jeff goes with his friend to the Micmac burial ground, unleashing the menace that lurks in the reanimated dead once more.

For a movie who’s most famous tag line is “there can be only one,” there are sure a ton of Highlander sequels, TV spinoffs (live action and animated), novels, comic books, and reboots. But that should come as no surprise; this is Hollywood, and the immortal Scottish swordsman epic is one of the most indelible franchises of the past 30 years.
The original Highlander arrived in 1986, and is easily the most hallowed of all Highlander properties, featuring the holy triumvirate of genre stars: Christopher Lambert (NCIS: La, Greystoke: The Legend Of Tarzan, Lord Of The Apes, Mortal Kombat), Sean Connery (The James Bond, Dr. Jones, The Rock, The Untouchables, The Hunt For Red October), and Clancy Brown (The Shawshank Redemption, Starship Troopers, ER, Flubber, Pet Sematary II, John Dies At The End, and ubiquitous voice actor). The hit spawned Highlander 2: The Quickening (1991), a TV show starring Adrian Paul that...

It's been more than a decade since the 1990s ended, yet the Internet can't seem to go a day without a reminder of the neon slap bracelets that may have been banned from your school.
Yes, we get it. Times are tough and there's comfort in reflection, but enough is enough.
Below, a final goodbye to the 90s to end the nostalgia once and for all. (We're not kidding. There are 1990 items below.)

Star Trek is pretty much unique when it comes to fan-made movies and episodes that pay homage to the sci-fi series. Left alone by CBS and Paramount (as long as they don’t try to make money from them) fans build elaborate sets and even bring in recognisable Star Trek actors to produce work that is anything but amateur.
The latest hoping to go into production is Star Trek: Renegades, co-written by Jack Trevino and staring Walter Koenig, Tim Russ, Garrett Wang and Robert Picardo among others, names that will be familiar to any Star Trek fan.
Jack Trevino is no stranger to the world of Star Trek. Having written the hugely popular fan-made miniseries Star Trek: Of Gods And Men which stared a number of Star Trek actors including Walter Koenig and Nichelle Nichols. The series was awarded ‘Best Web Production 2008’ by SyFy Portal which is now Alpha Airlock.

I don't usually like using the term "guilty pleasure" because I rarely feel guilty about the films I like. But this adaptation of one of Stephen King's earliest (and most fun) short stories is such a mixed bag that it's hard to type out any kind of legitimate defense.
It had been quite a few years since I last viewed Graveyard Shift, and so I was curious to see if revisiting it would sustain my initial impression. Over the years I've found that the author's most hardcore fans are the most dismissive of this film, the general consensus being that the filmmakers took an atmospheric and claustrophobic story and failed in recreating any of those feelings. I don't necessarily agree with the assessment, however. If Graveyard Shift does anything right, it's the atmosphere part, the problem being that it never amounts to more than a subpar monster movie -...

Gotta gotta love Hollywood. They’re not just in love with sequels, they’re in love with making sequels bad. So when they take a just barely inoffensive little kiddie action flick such as Journey to the Center of the Earth and give it another whirl, they’re sure to put the right talent on it. Such as director Brad Peyton. He’s not the guy they got to helm ordinary crap like Cats & Dogs -- he’s the guy they got to helm the followup megacrap, Cats & Dogs: The Revenge of Kitty Galore. And here are the screenwriting team of Brian and Mark Gunn, who didn’t pen the pretty good Bring It On but the direct-to-dvd shitquel Bring It On Again, and their cowriter Richard Outten, who wrote not Pet Sematary but Pet Sematary Two. It’s not fair to suggest that Hollywood doesn’t care or isn’t trying.

Los Angeles -- Character actor and Hollywood dialect coach Robert Easton, whose successes include teaching Forest Whitaker to speak like Idi Amin in the 2006 movie "The Last King of Scotland," has died in Los Angeles. He was 81.
His movie credits include "Paint Your Wagon," "Pete's Dragon," "Pet Sematary II" and "Primary Colors."
When he was younger, he mainly played country bumpkins on TV shows because of his Southern drawl.
He feared being typecast so he worked on different accents and learned he could mimic regional speech patterns.
As a dialect coach, he worked Arnold Schwarzenegger, Charlton Heston, Liam Neeson, Anne Hathaway and Robert Duvall.

It’s that time of year again, kids. Dread Central’s 2010 Horror at the Oscars coverage. Horror was indeed present this year and in black-tie. While Roger Corman and Lauren Bacall were honored a few months back at the Governor’s Award Ceremony, it was an unexpected delight to see Corman, recipient of the lifetime achievement Oscar, enjoy a standing ovation on national television.
I was, however, very disappointed that neither of them were allowed to speak. Roger Corman’s contributions to modern cinema are too vast for him to just stand up and wave. James Cameron was one of many Corman acolytes present, and his nomination speaks to Corman’s tremendous legacy. On the Terminator DVD Cameron mentions, "I trained at the Roger Corman Film School.” Jonathan Demme, Martin Scorsese, and Francis Ford Coppola, among many others, were also former students.
The terror continued with a spoof of Paranormal Activity...

1408 screenwriter Matthew Greenberg has been hired to pen a remake of another Stephen King adaptation, Pet Sematary. Transformers/G.I. Joe/1408 producer Lorenzo di Bonaventura is attached, and the project is set up at Paramount Pictures. Aside from the previous King adaptation, Greenberg's screenwriting credits include a bunch of subpar genre efforts: Reign of Fire, Halloween H20 and The Prophecy II. No director has been attached. King's original novel was published in 1983, and was nominated for Best Novel at the World Fantasy Awards the next year. The book was brought to the big screen in 1989 with a film directed by Mary Lambert, and starring Dale Midkiff, Denise Crosby and Fred Gwynne. There was also a sequel, Pet Sematary II, which was met with less financial success and critical acclaim. At one point Alphaville was trying to get a remake off the ground with Face/Off scribes Mike Werb and Michael...

Well, a "Nightmare on Elm Street" remake is being filmed right now. We might as well all learn to just accept it and move on. Here's the latest casting news. Clancy Brown has joined the cast of Platinum Dunes' "Nightmare on Elm Street" remake. Brown is a pretty frequent B movie actor who was in the miniseries "Carnivale" and more recently the film "The Burrowers." We also saw him in "Starship Troopers," "Pet Sematary II" and "Highlander." Meanwhile, Katie Cassidy has also joined the cast presumably as a beautiful blonde victim. She's joining Thomas Dekker and Kyle Gallner as young victims. Principal photography has already started on Samuel Bayer's remake which is due to hit screens April 16, 2010.

Clancy Brown who voices Mr. Eugene H. Krabs of SpongeBob SquarePants has joined the cast of A Nightmare on Elm Street 2010 as "Allan." Brown is relatively unknown but has had a long career appearing in many films such as, Highlander (1986), Blue Steel (w/Jamie Lee Curtis), Pet Sematary II and was the voice of "Hakon" in the Gargoyles cartoon. No word on what Clancy's role in the film is, but since he is one of the older cast members it is probably safe to assume that he is probably a parent or a cop.

Bloody-Disgusting learned exclusively this afternoon that the great Clancy Brown (pictured inside) has been cast as "Allan" in New Line Cinema's reboot of A Nightmare On Elm Street. He joins the previously announced Jackie Earle Haley, Kyle Gallner, Thomas Dekker, Rooney Mara, Kellan Lutz and Katie Cassidy in the film being helmed by commercial director Samuel Bayer. Brown can be seen in J.T. Petty's The Burrowers, which hit DVD just a few weeks ago, along with Starship Troopers, Pet Sematary II and Highlander. The films' premise centered on Krueger, a serial child molester murdered by angry parents, who returns with a burnt face and a razor glove to terrorize teens in their dreams. Shooting begins in Chicago next week, with a release planned for April 16, 2010.

Best Sound went to rage-zombie veterans Ian Tapp and Richard Pryke, leaving Mark Weingarten who worked on Rejuvenatrix in the dust.
