- Jo: [voice-over narration after Steve has talked in a demeaning way about Chan Hung - the missing Chan of the title - as being a naive, humorless 'Fresh Off the Boat' immigrant who didn't know when Steve was joking about wanting an expensive pair of pants that Chan once wore] The 'F.O.B.s,' Fresh Off the Boat, as Steve called them, didn't come off of boats. They came off of jumbo jets. Steve doesn't realize the joke about the pants is really on him. Chan Hung told me he sometimes play up being an F.O.B., just to make Steve mad. Chan Hung does have a sense of humor that doesn't translate into English. Like
