The roles of the body builder goons were originally given to the Barbarian Brothers. However on the first day of shooting the Barbarian Brothers did not show up. They had forgotten what day the shoot started and were attending choir practice. Sidaris recast them the next day.
The protagonist drives an orange Delorean DMC-12 with can be seen entering and exiting the car through the gull-wing doors. The movie was released three months before Back to the Future (1985), the movie in which this car would become one of the most iconic cars of all time.
Andy Sidaris funded the movie with Hugh Hefner. They put up $250,000 each. When they finished the picture, Sidaris found out that Hefner's people at Playboy had sold the film to MGM for a $10,000 advance. Furious, Sidaris told them he didn't give them permission to do that. He paid them their half of the money and bought the movie back.
