There was no original content in this series. The 32 episodes were comprised of the 64 Sabrina shorts that had previously been featured on 1969's "The Archie Comedy Hour" and 1970's "Sabrina and the Groovie Goolies."
Sabrina, Salem and Miss Della were featured in the inaugural comic strip in 1962, and Aunt Hilda made her first appearance two years later. Harvey Kinkle, Aunt Zelda, and Cousin Ambrose were all created for this show and then trickled into the comics.
Sabrina graced comic book pages prior to the premiere of Bewitched (1964), but the success of that show prompted Archie Comics to adapt it as a weekly cartoon in 1969.
The prime-time special Archie and His New Pals (1969) served as the series opener, chronicling Sabrina's first day of school at Riverdale. It was omitted from this series because the primary plot centers on the Archie gang's student council election.
For a while, this was the only adaptation of the Sabrina Spellman character from the 'Archie' comics --till in the mid-'90s, producer Paula Hart got the rights and a few further adaptations got made.
