Richard Johnson turned down the role of 007 in the first Bond film, Dr. No (1962), opening the door for Sean Connery.
Virginia North (Robot Number 9) and Joanna Lumley (uncredited robot saboteur) worked on this picture concurrently with On Her Majesty's Secret Service (1969). Both films were produced at Pinewood Studios.
This movie features an 'Auto-Vac' 27 years before the first robot vacuum cleaner, the Electrolux Trilobite, which was presented in May of 1996.
