James Cagney had no interest in becoming a film director and took the job of directing this film only as a favor to his friend A.C. Lyles, who produced. A decade or so later, and for the same reason, Cagney briefly emerged from retirement to narrate "Arizona Bushwhackers", a B-movie western which Lyles also produced.
In Oct. 1957, this film was widely exhibited on the drive-in theater circuit on a double bill with The Devil's Hairpin (1957).
