There’s a new sequel to the 1997 slasher I Know What You Did Last Summer (watch it Here) and its 1998 follow-up I Still Know What You Did Last Summer (watch that one Here) coming our way from director Jennifer Kaytin Robinson (Do Revenge) – and the project’s official X account has just unveiled a behind-the-scenes image to announce that production is underway!
The image shows a clapperboard for the filming of scene 50B, which involves a computer monitor that looks like it’s left over from the ’90s and a hook that has a slightly different design than the hooks we saw in the previous movies:

"Babygirl," the latest feature from actress-turned-director Halina Reijn ("Bodies Bodies Bodies") starts with a woman named Romy (Nicole Kidman) in a position too many women have found themselves in before — faking an orgasm before rushing off to masturbate to pornography in hiding so she can actually get off. She has done this so frequently that she practically has it down to a science, reaching orgasm after putting on a reliable video and assuming the position while her loving husband Jacob (Antonio Banderas) snoozes away in post-coital bliss. For anyone who is familiar with Kidman and Banderas' work, the situation likely seems preposterous. Both actors are certifiable sex symbols in their own right, with the latter often cast solely for his ability to whip housewives into a frenzy with a wink at the camera and his evergreen on-camera prowess.

Nicole Kidman stars in an upcoming erotic thriller from the director of 2022’s Bodies Bodies Bodies. Here’s the trailer for Babygirl:
Fans of grown-up cinema releases are about to hit something of a dry spell over Christmas once Edward Berger’s Conclave is released at the end of this month. Still, the beginning of January 2025 heralds a new year and plenty of films with mature themes and ideas to get excited about. One of them is Babygirl, an erotic thriller that comes courtesy of A24. Nicole Kidman will be joined by Triangle Of Sadness’ Harris Dickinson, Antonio Banderas alongside Jean Reno and Sophie Wilde, star of 2022’s horror breakout, Talk To Me.
The film will be directed by Halina Reijn, who was behind 2022’s sharp horror satire, Bodies Bodies Bodies. This looks to be something of a genre shift for Reijn, but we’re hoping Babygirl can realise...

Premiering with much fervor at Venice Film Festival, Halina Reijn’s Bodies Bodies Bodies follow-up Babygirl finds Nicole Kidman playing a high-powered CEO who puts her career and family on the line when she begins a torrid affair with her much younger intern, played by Harris Dickinson. With Kidman picking up Best Actress at the festival, A24 has set the film for a Christmas release and the new trailer has arrived.
Savina Petkova said in her review, “Boosted by Locarno-awarded debut Instinct, Dutch actor-director Halina Reijn fit nicely in the A24 canon with her satirical thriller Bodies Bodies Bodies. Yet the latter elicited rather lukewarm critical responses and it almost seemed Reijn might have been a one-hit European wonder fallen prey to the American dream. Then came Babygirl. "I've never experienced anything like this..." Spicy. A24 has debuted the second official trailer for the erotic thriller film titled Babygirl, which originally premiered at the 2024 Venice Film Festival (and it won Best Actress). Babygirl is the latest feature from Dutch filmmaker Halina Reijn, following up her horror comedy Bodies Bodies Bodies recently. Written and directed by Reijn, Babygirl stars Nicole Kidman as a powerful CEO at a major corporation based in New York City. She begins an erotic affair with a hunky new intern who strolls through her company's doors one day. The two explore an intimate sub-dom relationship as they both come to understand their own sexuality. Babygirl also co-stars Harris Dickinson, Antonio Banderas, Sophie Wilde, and Esther McGregor. This is a very seductive and sizzling trailer just like the first one, but I'm still not the biggest fan of the film. It's tantalizing but not edgy enough...

A24 has just released the trailer for Babygirl — an intense and unconventional erotic thriller that plays with power struggle, consent, grooming, and coercion. Our own Chris Bumbray enjoyed the provocative film at TIFF this year, saying in his review, “It’s controversial, but it’s also one of the sexier films to come along in recent memory. Kidman deserves major praise for her consistent refusal to play it safe as an actress.”
Babygirl stars Nicole Kidman (Being the Ricardos), Antonio Banderas (Desperado), Harris Dickinson (The Iron Claw), Sophie Wilde (Talk to Me), and Jean Reno (Léon: The Professional). Babygirl will cheekily be released in theaters just in time for Christmas viewings, giving it a December 25 release date. That’s the same weekend Disney is releasing Mufasa, Paramount is releasing Sonic the Hedgehog 3, and Angel Studios is releasing the faith-based post-apocalyptic film Homestead.
Reijn directed Babygirl from a screenplay she wrote herself.

If you were missing Adrian Lyne-style erotic thrillers — or even thought that such erotic thrillers were no longer possible — watch the second trailer for “Babygirl,” director Halina Reijn’s scorcher starring an uninhibited Nicole Kidman as a CEO having an affair with a younger man (Harris Dickinson) who also happens to be in her employ.
But that power dynamic may not be exactly what it seems. Dickinson’s character, a late 20-something intern, is also into domination and submission dynamics in his relationships, and indeed appears to swiftly take the control of their sexual connection. Is this guy a threat?
Reijn’s film takes on issues of power and control in relationships in the fearless way viewers haven’t been accustomed to seeing in some time. “Babygirl” was a sensation at the 2024 Venice Film Festival, with many critics and journalists in attendance hailing it as the legendary actress’s...

Hey, remember Y2K (Aka “the millenium bug”)? In the months leading up to the year 2000, everybody was in an uproar, believing there would be a complete shutdown of resources upon midnight of December 31 / January 1 of 2000.
In a nutshell, many computer programs were not set up for the change of “19” to “20” that year, and the possibility existed that files would become unreachable, the power grid would shut down, etc.
Of course, there were some technical issues upon the stroke of midnight, but thankfully, nowhere near the disaster that so many people believed was inevitable. Well, A24’s newest film, appropriately called Y2K, uses the panic as the basis for its plot.
Set on December 31, 1999 Y2K stars Jaeden Martell, Rachel Zegler, Julian Dennison Australian rapper the Kid Laroi, Fred Durst and Alicia Silverstone.
Although A24 has become mostly known for its serious horror films such as The Witch, Hereditary, Midsommar and Talk to Me,...

"Think they'll still do graduation?" A24 has revealed a second trailer for Y2K, a 1999 party comedy marking the feature directorial debut of comedian Kyle Mooney. Set to debug theaters starting in early December just before New Years coming up. It first premiered at the 2024 SXSW Film Festival to good reviews along with some negative ones, too. Two high school nobodies make the decision to crash the last major celebration before the new millennium on New Year's Eve 1999. The night gets even crazier than they could have ever dreamed when the clock strikes midnight. The hilarious Nye horror comedy stars Rachel Zegler, Jaeden Martell, Julian Dennison, and Alicia Silverstone, also featuring The Kid Laroi, Tim Heidecker, and Fred Durst. Still reminds me a bit of Bodies Bodies Bodies, though it also seems like it's inspired by the antics of This is The End. This looks totally wild and crazy and...

It used to be a rite of passage: up-and-coming directors would first cut their teeth on commercials, work their way up to television shows to develop a strong body of work, and finally burst onto the scene with movies after proving that they have what it takes to handle much larger productions. That filmmaking pipeline has become a thing of the past in the last few decades, but one bona fide talent is taking his cues from a more old-fashioned era. The final result is one of the more exciting projects we've heard about it some time.

Give it up, guys, you’re never going to understand how Pete Davidson managed to attract half the celebrities he has dated. The first time Maria Bakalova came to New York City, she had to flee.
She was in disguise, shooting a scene for 2020’s “Borat Subsequent Moviefilm” that put her alone in a hotel room with Rudy Giuliani. The former mayor touched her midsection and reached down his pants — and then Sacha Baron Cohen burst into the room wearing a wig and lingerie. Giuliani called the police, and Bakalova and Baron Cohen sprinted down Broadway and escaped to Romania to finish the movie.
“We did the scene, and immediately after, police cars started chasing us,” Bakalova remembers. “I was scared I might end up in jail.”
The second time she came to the city, in December 2021, she attended a screening of her A24 movie “Bodies Bodies Bodies” and brought Covid back with her to Los Angeles, where she lives — an unwelcome souvenir that forced her to miss Christmas with her family in Bulgaria.

It was no small feat to get “Saturday Night Live” off the ground at NBC, and as a result, the cast of “Saturday Night” is pretty huge. In many cases, the actors also look eerily similar to the people they’re playing.
Hitting theaters everywhere on Oct. 11 after a limited theatrical release in New York and Los Angeles, Jason Reitman’s “Saturday Night” tells the story of the 90 minutes right before the first-ever episode of “SNL.” It’s chaotic and at the time, even Lorne Michaels couldn’t explain what the show was going to be.
Below, you’ll find the cast of “Saturday Night” alongside what their real-life counterparts looked like back then.

Lorne Michaels is the creator and, to this day, producer of “Saturday Night Live.” He’s played in “Saturday Night” by Gabriel Labelle, who had his breakout role in Steven Spielberg’s “The Fabelmans.

Rachel Sennott didn’t get into the premier sketch comedy group during her tenure at NYU. Now she’s playing one of the architects of the world’s most famous sketch comedy show in Jason Reitman’s Saturday Night. Co-written by the latter and Gil Kenan, the biographical comedy-drama chronicles the messy 90-minute period before the first episode of Saturday Night Live on Oct. 11, 1975. Sennott portrays writer Rosie Shuster, who’s also the first wife of SNL creator Lorne Michaels (Gabriel Labelle). And much like their ambitious attempt to shake up NBC’s Saturday night programming, their marriage, as depicted in the film, is in a similarly fragile, yet oddly collaborative, state.
In contrast with a lot of her castmates, Sennott didn’t have a great deal of existing material to reference during prep, but she did have the ultimate resource one phone call away.
“I spoke to Rosie, which was amazing.

Ali Abbasi’s Donald Trump biopic is set to hit theaters less than a month before Election Day on Friday, October 11. Sebastian Stan stars as Trump the businessman well before his days as U.S. president, and opposite Jeremy Strong as right-wing lawyer Roy Cohn. At the film’s New York City premiere on Tuesday, October 8, the stars talked about the perfect timing of the project.
“It’s very fortuitous, I guess,” Stan told IndieWire. “And also, apparently it’s coming out on Fred Trump’s actual birthday, which I just learned about an hour ago. Well, maybe that’s meant to mean something.”
“I mean, we’re here on a red carpet and all the hoopla, but like, kidding aside, it feels like the highest stakes moment in the history of this country we happen to be in,” Strong told us. “We happen to have been part of a...

This article contains spoilers for "It's What's Inside."
As fantastical as the concept seems, the first body swap movie dates all the way back to 1916 with the British fantasy flick "Vice Versa," where a young schoolboy magically swaps bodies with his overbearing father. It's based on the even older 1882 novel of the same name and would mark the start of one of the most evergreen cinematic tropes that exists beyond the confines of genre. Body swap movies are most prominent in family-friendly comedy flicks like the "Freaky Friday" franchise or the criminally underrated "Wish Upon a Star" with Danielle Harris and a young Katherine Heigl, or even action films like John Woo's "Face/Off." Science-fiction films usually explore body swapping as some sort of technological advancement, comic books boast plenty of body swap stories (so it's only a matter of time before we see one in live-action), and even horror...

There seems to be a new subgenre of horror/thriller movies emerging of late: ‘Game night gone wrong’. We’ve had the bloody-murder of Bodies Bodies Bodies and the demonic possession of Talk To Me — and now we have the literal mind-bending chaos of It’s What’s Inside, a fun and stylish rethink of body-swap movies. What if, this film posits, instead of two people swapping bodies, as has been traditional — it was eight people?
It has been described as “Clue for Zoomers”, which is not far off the mark. Like Bodies Bodies Bodies and Talk To Me, this is a film made explicitly for and about Generation Z, and deeply considers their obsessions, anxieties and pathologies. It begins in a frantic manner, reflecting the social-media generation’s attention-demanded brains, as Shelby (Brittany O'Grady), our lead, frantically scrolls through her Instagram, bombarded with data and input. She’s dating Cyrus (James Morosini...

Short of outright sobs, there are just two sounds you’ll hear coming from movie theaters: laughter and screams. When filmmakers can successfully elicit both — running horror-loving audiences through emotional minefields that chase each adrenaline spike with just enough comedic relief to set them up for another shock — their films take on an almost electric quality. Just thinking of the stunning yet silly reveals in genre staples like “Shaun of the Dead” or “The Cabin in the Woods” can zap a smile on your face, and leave you itching to rewatch other memorable scenes and scares from your favorite funny yet spooky movies.
There’s considerable debate about which title merits being called the first horror comedy. Numerous shorts, including the 1920 silent film “Haunted Spooks,” might qualify. But by the time Bud Abbott...

Sarah Michelle Gellar may not be coming back for the new sequel to the slasher I Know What You Did Last Summer (watch it Here) and the follow-up I Still Know What You Did Last Summer (watch that one Here) that’s coming our way from director Jennifer Kaytin Robinson (Do Revenge) – since her character is dead and all – but The Rocketeer is going to be in the movie! Campbell’s co-stars will include Madelyn Cline (Outer Banks), Sarah Pidgeon (Tiny Beautiful Things), Tyriq Withers (Atlanta), and Jonah Hauer-King (The Little Mermaid). Greg Jardin’s “It’s What’s Inside” taps into the template of game nights that has hit a bit of a cultural flashpoint with the recent phenomenal success of films like “Talk to Me” and “Bodies Bodies Bodies.” The inherent chaos and looseness of the situation, as well as the playfully shifting tension within a circle of friends, can provide the bulwark for scintillating, edgy dramas. These circumstances are rife with unpredictable stakes. Things seem to be almost constantly perched on the anvil of disaster. No one knows when and how the mood can darken or lighten. This giddying thrill and uncertainty form the trope’s biggest strengths.
Such films also rely on a solid ensemble’s efficacy and quicksilver potential, in which every actor is perfectly clued into the other’s dynamic energies. Everyone has to be on some sort of similar page. Only then can there be some genuine fun,...

‘It’s What’s Inside’ Netflix Review: Body-swap Horror Might Be The Perfect Place To Start Spooktober
If you’re the kind of person who enjoys the specific genre that is Gen Z satirical horror-comedies like Bodies Bodies Bodies or Talk To Me, though the latter’s not really a comedy, then It’s What’s Inside certainly has to make your watchlist right this instant. The movie, now on Netflix, is the definition of party chaos, which plays out in an interesting, comprehensive, and horrifying way—a thrilling combination if you ask me. It’s What’s Inside tells the story of 8 college mates reuniting at a pre-wedding party to celebrate in a massive mansion with some funky set decor. The group’s super excited, but there’s one guy who’s been away for a very long time. Beware, my friends, if an estranged bud comes your way and sets up a party game, it’s likely things aren’t going to go well. Especially when drinks and drugs are involved.

If there’s one thing movies have taught us it’s you should never, ever be alone in a house. Heck, even with other people. You’re just going to get haunted, or you’re going to get slashed, or at the very least your place will be an absolute mess in the morning and you’ll have to tell your parents what really happened. So go outside, dang it! You’re more likely to star in a romantic comedy if you’re not trapped in an isolated mansion on a dark and gloomy night, making side-eyes at your old college friends who secretly hate you or want you dead.
Then again, if you do stay inside, you might as well watch Greg Jardin’s engrossingly mean-spirited “It’s What’s Inside,” which takes the familiar setup — we sure are alone in this house and nothing bad could possibly happen to us...

Stars: Nicole Kidman, Harris Dickinson, Sophie Wilde, Antonio Banderas, Esther McGregor, Vaughn Reilly, Victor Slezak | Written and Directed by Halina Reijn
Nicole Kidman and Harris Dickinson star in this erotic office drama from writer-director Halina Reijn’s follow-up to last year’s horror favourite Bodies Bodies Bodies. Provocative and crackling with tension, Babygirl explores ideas of desire, control and illicit sexuality from a decidedly Gen Z perspective, while playing interesting games with established erotic thriller conventions.
Kidman plays Romy Mathis, the powerful CEO of a New York robotics company, who seemingly has it all, including two teenage daughters (Esther McGregor and Vaughan Reilly) and an apparently happy marriage to successful theatre director Jacob (Antonio Banderas). However, there are early hints that something is missing, because – in the opening scene – after faking an orgasm with Jacob, Romy sneaks off to a different room and masturbates to dodgy daddy porn on her laptop.

Oscar winner Nicole Kidman stars as Romy, a high-powered CEO who jeopardizes her family and career when she starts an affair with Samuel, a younger intern (Harris Dickinson), in A24’s Babygirl. The official trailer shows the early flirtations that quickly escalate to a steamy, illicit affair.
“I really decided in the beginning, I want to make a sexual film, just as sexual as all these films that I’ve always admired so much, but now I’m going to do it completely through female eyes. What does that mean and what does that look like?” stated writer/director Halina Reijn (Bodies Bodies Bodies).
The cast also includes Sophie Wilde (Talk to Me) as Esme, Romy’s assistant, and Antonio Banderas as Romy’s husband, Jacob. Reijn’s behind-the-scenes team includes director of photography Jasper Wolf, production designer Stephen Carter, editor Matthew Hannam, and costume designers Kurt Swanson and Bart Mueller.

Nicole Kidman could be on the verge of receiving her sixth acting Oscar bid for the upcoming A24 erotic thriller “Babygirl,” directed by Halina Reijn, best known for the indie film “Bodies Bodies Bodies” (2022). With the movie already making its premiere at the Venice International Film Festival and Kidman taking home the Volpi Cup for Best Actress, let’s take a closer look at her five previous Oscar nominations, including her one win.
Her first recognition came for the Baz Luhrmann jukebox musical “Moulin Rouge” (2001), where Kidman portrayed a cabaret performer and courtesan in love with an English poet. It is certainly one of her most physical performances, as she performs extravagant musical numbers and showcases strong emotions as her character Satine suffers through an illness. Nicole Kidman and Harris Dickinson explore power dynamics with a high-stakes love affair in the trailer for the erotic thriller Babygirl.
A24 releases writer-director Halina Reijn’s feature in theaters nationwide on Dec. 25, although the film is a bit steamier than traditional holiday fare. Also starring Antonio Banderas and Sophie Wilde, Babygirl centers on Romy (Kidman), a feared CEO who begins a romance with Samuel (Dickinson), a much-younger intern at her company.
“If we’re going to do this, we need to set some rules that you and I both agree on,” Dickinson instructs Kidman in the trailer. “Starting with, I tell you what to do, and you do it.”
At a later point in the footage, Kidman tells her new beau, “You’re very young. I don’t want to hurt you.” Dickinson replies, “Hurt me? I think I have power over you because I could make one call,...

"You're very young... I don't want to hurt you." Oh boy. A24 has revealed the sizzling official trailer for the erotic thriller film titled Babygirl, which originally premiered at the 2024 Venice Film Festival last month (and won Best Actress). Babygirl also stars Harris Dickinson, Antonio Banderas, Sophie Wilde, Esther McGregor. This is a fantastic trailer and a clever marketing campaign (since it opens on Christmas Day) but I'm not the biggest fan of the film overall.

Nicole Kidman recently starred in the Netflix comedy A Family Affair, which involved an unusual tryst with a younger man. Now, Kidman’s lust gets her into more than she bargained for again with the much darker-toned Babygirl. A24 has just released the trailer for this intense and unconventional erotic thriller that plays with power struggle, consent, grooming, and coercion.

One day after Focus Features debuted the new trailer for Robert Eggers’s “Nosferatu,” the gothic horror film the studio will release on Christmas Day, A24 has upped the holiday ante. The bespoke distributor has its own bit of merry counterprogramming lined up for December 25 with “Babygirl,” the erotic thriller that won star Nicole Kidman the prestigious Volpi Cup for Best Actress at this year’s Venice Film Festival.
Written and directed by Halina Reijn, “Babygirl” stars Kidman as a high-power chief executive who starts a torrid affair with a young intern (played by Harris Dickinson). The film toys with power dynamics and sexual politics and won strong reviews after its Venice debut for Kidman, who could receive her sixth Oscar nomination for the role. (She won Best Actress at the 2003 ceremony for “The Hours.”)

Nicole Kidman stars as an uptight CEO who is sexually liberated by her intern, played by Harris Dickinson. Here’s the Babygirl trailer.
Director Halina Reijn is swapping horror satires for erotic thrillers with her new film Babygirl, which made quite the splash at Cannes Film Festival in May. The film follows Nicole Kidman’s CEO who begins an intense affair with Harris Dickinson’s intern.
Take a look at the first Babygirl trailer below.
Babygirl is certainly miles away from Reijn’s breakthrough film, the sharp and brutal horror comedy Bodies Bodies Bodies. The film was warmly received at Cannes and currently holds a 93% critics score on Rotten Tomatoes. Nicole Kidman picked up the Best Actress trophy at the Venice film festival as well.

While Nicole Kidman has been busy starring in practically every prestige limited drama series as of late, she’s been keeping a secret.
The trailer for her new movie “Babygirl” dropped Tuesday morning and it’s teasing more than her return to the silver screen amid some silver bells. In fact, A24 describes the film as: “A high-powered CEO puts her career and family on the line when she begins a torrid affair with her much younger intern.”
When Kidman’s boss character is saved from a potential dog attack by a young, handsome stranger (Harris Dickinson), the chemistry in their brief interaction is tested when he winds up under her mentorship. Nicole Kidman’s Romy has been a “good girl” — so says Harris Dickinson’s character Samuel in the official trailer for Babygirl, the buzzy Halina Reijn erotic thriller about a high-powered executive who engages in an illicit romance with her intern.
The tantalizing trailer teases the cat-and-mouse relationship between Romy and Samuel, whose immediate, knee-buckling chemistry kickstarts an affair that would certainly raise an Hr violation or two. Spliced with shots of the two in hotel rooms, bars and clubs, the duo play with the inherent power and gender dynamics within their personal and professional lives.
Hailing from writer-director Reijn, Babygirl premiered to strong reviews in Venice earlier in the summer, nabbing a seven-minute standing ovation from viewers. The A24 film follows Kidman’s CEO as she puts her life’s work on the line when she begins the torrid affair.

With Kidman picking up Best Actress at the festival, A24 has now set the film for a Christmas release and the first trailer has arrived.
As one of the first competition titles to grace the Lido, it promises a lot: not only does its title roll...
