Netflix has revealed that it will stream a documentary series chronicling three generations of India’s Roshan family and their contributions to Hindi-language cinema. The series marks the first time the family has offered an in-depth look at their entertainment dynasty.
The documentary traces the family’s journey from patriarch Roshan Lal Nagrath (known professionally as Roshan), through his sons, actor and filmmaker Rakesh Roshan (the “Krrish” franchise) and composer Rajesh Roshan (“Kaho Naa… Pyaar Hai”), and grandson, Bollywood megastar Hrithik Roshan (“War”), examining their collective impact on Indian film through music, directing and acting.
Industry veteran Shashi Ranjan (“Dobara”) directs and co-produces alongside Rakesh Roshan. The series features interviews with colleagues and peers discussing the family’s legacy in Hindi cinema.

On the completion of 50 years of Yash Raj Films (Yrf), Chairman and filmmaker Aditya Chopra penned a note for his late father Yash Chopra , who had founded the production house.
"In 1970, my father Yash Chopra, left the security and comfort of his brother Mr. Br Chopra and formed his own company. Till then, he was a salaried employee of Br Films and didn't own anything of his own. He did not know how to run a business and did not even have the basic knowledge of what goes into making a company. All he had was a strong belief in his talent and hardwork and a dream to be self-reliant.

Doctor Who led into its 50th anniversary special in style. 2013’s “The Name of the Doctor” saw the Eleventh Doctor (Matt Smith) having to jump into his own timestream to save companion Clara (Jenna Coleman). And while there, he encountered a vision of a version of himself we never knew existed before – the War Doctor (John Hurt), the one who fought in the Time War.
Hurt’s incarnation went on to have a leading role in the special “The Day of the Doctor,” but fans may know that the War Doctor was a late-in-the-day creation, necessitated when Christopher Eccleston turned down the opportunity to return as the Ninth Doctor. We know that writer Steven Moffat’s first draft of “Day” featured Nine, but what we didn’t know is that he originally conceived the “Name” cliffhanger to reveal Eccleston’s comeback.

John Sturges’ The Great Escape is, without a doubt, one of the finest cinematic portraits of the Second World War ever put to screen. As the tale of some prisoners of war defying insurmountable odds to escape captivity, The Great Escape captures the spirit of the soldiers who fought for the Allies in World War II with more heart and grit than most movies about the conflict.

Activision has revealed the first official details for Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War‘s multiplayer, which will attempt to combine some of the best elements of previous Call of Duty games while incorporating some intriguing new elements.
One of the biggest surprises of the reveal was Treyarch and Raven Software’s insistence that they intend to incorporate a narrative into the multiplayer experience. Said narrative will be featured in everything from the equipment multiplayer operatives use to the levels themselves and the objectives you complete. Timeline-wise, the multiplayer will take place in the ’80s, but it will be set years after the game’s campaign.
So far as individual modes go, Cold War will revive the franchise’s standard play options while introducing new concepts such as 6v6 VIP Escort operations, 12v12 Combined Arms skirmishes, and a new 40-player, Fireteam mode. That last one is especially interesting as...

It might have all worked itself out in Endgame, but many fans coming out of Avengers: Infinity War were holding Star-Lord directly responsible for Thanos eliminating half of all life in the universe with a click of his fingers after Peter Quill had let his emotions get the best of him on Titan when Iron Man and company were agonizingly close to separating the Mad Titan from the Infinity Gauntlet.
The Russo brothers said we shouldn’t be pointing fingers despite admitting he’d messed up in a big way, while the writers also attempted to justify his actions and Chris Pratt defended his character before ultimately conceding that Quill had made a huge mistake. Sure, you can trace Thanos gathering the last of the Infinity Stones and carrying out intergalactic genocide directly to Star-Lord’s anger, but a new theory now claims that there was no other way to...

Salaam Namaste, starring Preity Zinta and Saif Ali Khan, released 15 years ago on this day. Director Siddharth Anand says the film was ahead of its time.
"I think 'Salaam Namaste' was dealing with an issue that was taboo or not spoken about, but very much prevalent whether in India or with Indians outside. It felt like it was ahead of its time, but the thing is that there was no deliberate attempt to do something that is scandalous or trying to do something different," Anand said about the quirky comedy, which tells the story of two young NRIs in Melbourne (played by Saif and Preity), who live together, and the girl subsequently gets pregnant. Upon release, many viewers found shades of similarity between the film and the 1995 Hollywood comedy "Nine Months".

When Doctor Who was relaunched in 2005, there was a problem with audiences having a wide spectrum of familiarity – or lack thereof – with the property. This was dealt with by introducing the mystery of the Time War, a final conflict between the peacekeeping Time Lords and the megalomaniacal Daleks that resulted in the destruction of both races and the Doctor as its lone survivor. Not knowing what happened put all viewers on the same footing and just as eager to learn the details.
To fill the void left by the absence of a new season of Doctor Who arriving any time soon, we’ve instead been gifted Time Lord Victorious, a massive transmedia event told across comics, books, short stories, audio, games and even an escape room. And the first publication, the premiere issue of a comic series of the same title, has made an enormous retcon by erasing the Time War from canon.

Despite having made his big screen debut in Guy Ritchie’s Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels back in 1998, Jason Statham‘s star has never shone brighter than it has over the last couple of years. After playing second fiddle to Sylvester Stallone in the Expendables franchise, steering The Meg to over half a billion dollars at the box office and boarding the Fast & Furious series, leading to him headlining Hobbs & Shaw alongside Dwayne Johnson, the 52 year-old is currently in the midst of the hottest streak of his career from a box office perspective.

While the country had experimented with the format before, it wasn’t until 1984 that the Philippines really got a handle on the Anthology format. Already perfected in Britain through the stellar works of Amicus Studios as well as the US with George A. Romero’s masterclass in “CreepShow,” three big directors in the genre, Ishmael Bernal (“City After Dark”), Emmanuel Horlaza (“Dugo ng Vampira”) and Peque Gallaga (“Tiyanak”) created a massive hit in their homeland that started a franchise which has extended into one of the longest-running series in the genre as a whole.
The first story, “Baso”, isn’t necessarily the fastest-paced entry for an anthology opener but was enjoyable nonetheless. Arriving at a friends’ house, friends Johnny (Joel Torre), Paolo (Rey Abellana) and Girlie (Arlene Murloch) decide to pass the time playing a game known as Spirit of the glass, which puts them in contact with a trio of spirits.

This article contains minor spoilers for The Clone Wars season 7, Star Trek: Picard Season 1, and Star Trek: Discovery Season 2.
The final frontier and the galaxy far, far away are different in one specific way: The latter is about war and the former is, ostensibly, about peace. Long, drawn-out war arcs in the fictional universe of Star Trek are rare precisely because they are (theoretically) antithetical to what Star Trek is about. And yet, here I am, arguing for something exactly like that. Star Trek needs its own version of The Clone Wars from the Star Wars universe. This has less to do with a desire to see a never ending space battle and more to do with the fact that, like Star Wars, Trek canon has several unexplored periods of time where a lot was happening, but very little of it was chronicled.
Ever since Luke Skywalker asked “You fought in the Clone Wars?...

Usually news slows down after a TV show wraps up its latest season, but since Batwoman season 1 ended there’s been a constant stream of shocking updates. It was all started by Ruby Rose announcing she was vacating the title role effective immediately. The CW announced that a new leading actress would be found to replace her and we later learned that this meant a fresh character would be donning the cape and cowl, with Kate Kane being written out entirely.
If possible, this latter news has infuriated fans more than the first announcement. Kate is at the heart of the show, after all, and Batwoman lovers are not convinced that the character can be ditched without completely wrecking the series. As such, they’ve decided to take action, starting up a Change.org petition asking the network to reverse their decision and retain the character of Kate Kane.

Even though the ongoing coronavirus pandemic has slowed Hollywood to a virtual standstill, there’s still been a steady stream of announcements, reveals, and rumors making their way to the internet. As we’ve already seen, some of the industry’s biggest projects have been derailed or delayed (including all of Marvel’s Phase 4 films), but we recently caught wind of a new development surrounding one of the most anticipated McU movies.
As seen down below, a new video filmed on the set of Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings shows the titular hero himself (played by Chinese-Canadian actor Simu Liu) along with actress Awkwafina (whose role has yet to be revealed) arriving by cab to a rather seedy-looking area of an Asian city or district. Drake’s latest Number One single “Toosie Slide” is either the most radical viral hit ever created, or the most jaded. Despite being an all-ages instructional dance number, it carries none of the slaphappy elation of songs like “Cha-Cha Slide” or “Baby Shark.” Instead, it channels the spirit of that girl who wiped away tears as she performed Mariah Carey’s “Obsessed” TikTok challenge, or that kid who wept as his mom filmed him doing Fortnite dances as punishment. “Toosie Slide” is disarmingly wistful and totally bereft of joy, as...

Captain Marvel is, without a doubt, one of the more powerful Avengers in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. However, Carol Danvers could possibly have a secret power that fans didn’t even know about – and it was right in front of our faces in Avengers: Endgame.
A user on Reddit pointed out in a video that Captain Marvel might just have the ability to absorb energy. The clip in question is from the final battle with Thanos, where Danvers seemed to absorb the Gauntlet’s energy while grabbing it and battling the Mad Titan, slightly overpowering him. Of course, all Thanos needed to do was knock the Power Stone out, take it in his opposite hand and smash Carol across the battlefield.
However, upon further inspection, it seems like Captain Marvel’s powers heightened when she grabbed the Gauntlet, which we know gives off a tremendous amount of energy once all the stones are in place.

The McU dropped teases about Thanos and his quest for the Infinity Stones throughout its first 10 years, but when the time finally came for the Infinity Saga to conclude in Avengers: Infinity War and Endgame, the bold new story created a few continuity errors. Marvel’s creatives have had to offer up some retcons to paper over the cracks ever since, and that’s certainly the case for this new explanation for the mystery of the McU’s many Infinity Gauntlets.
ComicBook.com hosted an Infinity War quarantine watch party yesterday, with writers Stephen McFeely and Christopher Markus taking over the outlet’s Twitter account to comment on the movie. During this, they were asked how the Avengers: Age of Ultron post-credits scene fits in with the revelation that Thanos had the Gauntlet designed for him by Eitri after this point.

Last week on “Survivor: Winners at War,” the final 10 castaways seemingly divided into two groups of five, with Tony Vlachos, Sarah Lacina, Sophie Clarke, Ben Driebergen and Nick Wilson on one side and Jeremy Collins, Kim Spradlin-Wolfe, Michele Fitzgerald, Denise Stapley and Tyson Apostol on the other. Jeremy peaced out at tribal council thanks to his “safety without power” advantage, leaving his group at a numbers disadvantage they simply couldn’t overcome. In the end, Tyson was sent to the Edge of Extinction (again). Did Jeremy and Kim’s group rebound this week, or did Tony and Sarah’s group continue their dominance?

This 4/20 week (because let’s be honest, we’re in quarantine, we have permission to celebrate all week this year), many of us will be celebrating on our couches with the joints, edibles, and tinctures of our choice. Outside the comfort of our homes, however, the War on Drugs rages on — even as the legalization movement picks up steam nationwide. New data from the Aclu shows that racial disparities in drug-related arrests persist to this day, even in states that have decriminalized or legalized marijuana.

BossLogic, the concept artist extraordinaire, was heavily involved in the promotion of Avengers: Endgame – so much so, in fact, that he designed an exclusive poster for Marvel’s superhero smackdown, which depicted Earth’s Mightiest Heroes gearing up for round two.
The end design was a fiery display of superhero might, as the likes of Cap, Thor, Iron Man and Captain Marvel circled around a formidable Thanos. With the Infinity Gaunlet in one hand and a sword in the other, Marvel’s Mad Titan has never looked so frightening, and it’s fair to say that BossLogic’s Endgame poster became an instant hit among fans.
There were, of course, some alternate designs along the way. And it’s only now, as we approach the one-year anniversary of Avengers: Endgame, that BossLogic has revealed some unused posters for the McU event movie. Coming to us by way of Inverse, these...

The franchise has earned over $20 billion at the box office and boasts numerous movies headlined by eleven different superheroes, but by far, the Avengers films are the crown jewel of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. After all, the four outings for Earth’s Mightiest Heroes are the top-grossing installments and each one has been an absolute behemoth at the box office.
As Endgame saw most of the team either killed off or “retire” though, it’s unclear where the supergroup will show up next and what form they’ll take when we see them again. Kevin Feige has already admitted that we’ll see a fifth Avengers movie at some point, but no one’s sure when that’ll be. It’ll be a ways off yet, no doubt, but an interesting new report has now shed a bit of light on what we can expect.

Though he never received his own solo movie, over the last decade, Colonel James Rhodes has easily become one of the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s most important supporting characters. Aside from just being Tony Stark’s friend, confidant and conscience in the Iron Man films, we’ve also seen him in three Avengers movies, Captain America: Civil War and also in Captain Marvel’s post-credits scene.
Given his ties to the military, government, S.H.I.E.L.D. and the Avengers, War Machine can easily make his way into any of the McU’s standalone franchises and it wouldn’t be too difficult to find a role for him to play, but despite Cheadle always doing a good job with the part, it isn’t like there’s been a big cry for any sort of spinoff or standalone film for the character.

As has become popular, Thor: Love and Thunder director Taika Waititi (and Mark Ruffalo and Tessa Thompson) recently held a live watch-along of Thor: Ragnarok during which they answered questions from fans. Naturally, Waititi was fairly tight-lipped on exactly what’s coming in 2022, though he did hint that an obscure X-Men villain may appear in the movie.
But an interesting moment came when a fan asked him if a version of Loki would be making an appearance in the upcoming film. Waititi wouldn’t confirm anything outright, but certainly teased it by saying: “Oh ye… I can’t say.” He then went on to give the following cryptic explanation:
“If I had wanted to kill Loki for some reason, I would ask about it and Marvel might have told me that they needed him for Infinity War. That’s how I usually find out about the stuff that’s coming up.

Usually all performances at an awards night happen after series of rehearsals, however there can be situations when one may not be able to rehearse prior to their act. Hrithik Roshan is one such superstar who recently performed at an award event without much preparation.
We already know that the upcoming performance of Hrithik is special in multiple ways as It marks his 2 decades run in the industry. It also takes us on a trip ?down memory lane as we can reminisce over his first ever performance which was on the same platform where he will be dancing to some of his thoughtfully selected iconic numbers.
But what caught our attention was that Hrithik had to perform without any preliminary dance rehearsal for this act and the reason for that is the threat of the virus.
He took to his social media handle to reveal the information, sharing a snippet of his upcoming performance.

Whether you love her or loathe her, Sandra Diaz-Twine definitely left a lasting mark on the reality show known as “Survivor.” As of now, she is the only two-time winner of the game — a distinction that will be changed once “Winners at War” is completed.
Initially, on her fifth season on the show, she exhibited some savvy gameplay and joined in targeting Amber Mariano — the wife of fellow castaway and “Island of the Idol” mentor Rob Mariano. Sandra even positioned herself as provider when she showed her fellow castaways how to easily catch fish by throwing a net on the rocks near the shoreline.
Luckily for her, she was part of the Dakal tribe, which had established a streak of challenge wins early on. Not that she contributed much. The two-time champ participated in only once when she helped to put together a puzzle. The rest of the time, the...

“Survivor: Winners at War” is about to send two castaways to the Edge of Extinction, according to the previews. Only one tribe will win immunity, sending two to Tribal Council where they will each vote somebody out. Gold Derby odds predict that Adam Klein of the Yara tribe and Parvati Shallow of the Sele tribe will be the unfortunate victims of this week’s episode. Both have been in precarious situations so far this season and it looks like they both might miss out on the coming merge at the last minute.
Adam currently has 15/2 odds of being booted, say our Gold Derby prognosticators. Adam started off “Survivor: Winners at War” on the wrong foot by scurrying off with Denise Stapley on Day 1, which made him an early target, and it’s been a rough go since. He then made things worse by playing both sides in Episode 3, where he narrowly survived by one vote.
