About 19 minutes into the film, just after Sam punches Jack in a bar, there's a brief external shot of a ritzy-looking restaurant/sports bar that does not even closely match up with the interior bar scenes. This shot also shows nothing but sedans and coupes parallel-parked along a city street. The next shot shows Sam and Stumpy walking in front of the bar they were in. You can see the bar sign behind them and it is not the place shown in the previous shot. The only vehicles visible in front is a pickup truck parked perpendicular in a small lot just off the street. This is an Alabama location which corresponds with the story, but the earlier exterior shot of the ritzy sports bar was filmed in San Diego. An odd and unnecessary discontinuity.
When Sam is racing in his first race back, the flag man waves the white and checkered flag at the same time for the last lap. It should have been just the white flag to signal last lap until end of the race when the checkered flag would be waved.
At 1:17:55 The race announcer says that the 'checkered flag comes out. Only one lap to go'. When in fact the white flag indicates the last lap and the checkered flag indicates the winner.
At 1:09:00, the sound heard when the truck idles is that of a small diesel.
Ford did not put Diesel engines in F-100 trucks of that series.
