It's been quite a ride for Cuba Gooding Jr. When we first saw him, he was just a goofy-looking 20-year-old kid trying to keep a straight face as Eddie Murphy and Arsenio Hall yukked it up as heavily made-up (by the great Rick Baker) old-timers at a Queens barbershop in "Coming to America." Three years later, he was the lead of John Singleton's groundbreaking drama "Boyz n the Hood," which launched him to big-screen stardom. Or should have, anyway. Instead, Hollywood relegated him to thankless supporting roles in crap like "Lightning Jack" and "Outbreak" until he finally got another role worthy of his talent in Cameron Crowe's "Jerry Maguire." As Arizona Cardinals wide receiver Rod Tidwell, Gooding did the sports world a service by demonstrating that uniquely talented individuals fighting to maximize their earnings before said talent fades are not the enemy; it's the business that fights hard...

“Cross” was the most-watched streaming original in the U.S. during the week of Nov. 15-21, per Luminate. The Amazon Prime Video series, based on James Patterson’s “Alex Cross” novels, was watched for 1.8 billion minutes in that timeframe, which marked its first full week of availability after premiering on Nov. 14.
Peacock also had a big win this week, charting higher than normal with the debut of “The Day of the Jackal.” The Eddie Redmayne-led series was watched for 830.4 million minutes in its first full week of streaming, landing at No. 2 and edging out “Tulsa King” Season 3’s third-place-winning 787.6 million minutes.
Season 6 of "Cobra Kai" was right behind "Tulsa King," taking fourth place with 782.3 million minutes watched in the first full week of availability for its second batch of episodes. (A third and final batch of episodes is set for Feb. 13.) At No. 5 was "Sisters' Feud," which was watched...

The first half of 2024 was pretty unkind to a lot of movies. The box office was on life support for most of that period and it all felt kind of bleak for anyone who pays attention to such things. The most depressing part was that quite a few great movies were being hung out to dry, including "The Fall Guy" and "Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga," among others. "Abigail," the latest horror movie from the filmmaking collective known as Radio Silence, was also a big disappointment theatrically. Fortunately though, it's finally finding its audience.
"Abigail" is currently streaming on Prime Video and, as of this writing, is sitting in the number four spot on Amazon's most-watched movies chart (via FlixPatrol). It's currently only trailing Mark Wahlberg's 2021 sci-fi flop "Infinite" (which also recently found new life on Prime Video), Nancy Meyers' perennial 2006 rom-com "The Holiday,...

While it’s common to see different game franchises spark a few conflicting opinions every now and then, Halo, especially the early games, has never truly been a part of it all. In fact, finding someone taking aim at this iconic franchise is about as rare as actually catching a shiny Pokémon.

So, when such opinions do pop up every now and then, consider ourselves utterly baffled by what said person is trying to cook up. Keeping that in mind, while we ourselves don’t have a horse in this race (for now), let’s take a look at what aspects might potentially make the Halo games “not” click for someone.

After falling off the chart for two weeks, “Outer Banks” Season 4 is once again the top title on Luminate’s weekly streaming rankings. Thanks to the release of its second batch of episodes on Nov. 7, the Netflix teen drama was watched for 1.4 billion minutes watched during the Nov. 8-14 viewing window.
“Outer Banks” nearly doubled the viewership of the next-most-watched title, which was “Tulsa King” Season 2 with 810.5 million minutes watched. It was a strong week for Taylor Sheridan-created series; besides “Tulsa King,” both season of “Lioness” also made the chart. Interestingly, more viewers tuned into Season 1, which was released last year, than Season 2, which dropped its fourth episode during this window. Season 1 landed at No. 6 with 357.8 million minutes watched while Season 2 took eighth place with 289.4 million minutes watched.

There’s no doubt that Paramount’s Halo TV series was a massive disappointment, with it spending two seasons attempting to adapt some aspects of the series’ canon while also inducing severe changes to the original Halo games. Considering its horrible reception and massive budget, it’s no surprise that Paramount decided to cancel the Halo show after just two seasons.

Before the show’s cancellation, it looked like Season 3 was going to adopt one of the biggest-fan favorite stores of the franchise, The Fall of Reach. The event has been a major turning point for every character in the series. While it’s sad that we’ll never see a live-action adaptation of the event, it’s probably for the better when you consider the circumstances behind Reach‘s development by Bungie.

There’s no denying the fact that Call of Duty is a franchise that stands as the face of the Fps genre. Whether you absolutely love it or despite it, one can’t disagree that this franchise has remained consistently fun to jump into throughout the years while still retaining its fast-packed action, making us come back year after year to experience.
The Call of Duty franchise hasn’t always given us blockbusters. (Image via Activision)
What’s interesting is that not every Call of Duty is crafted equally, with several different development teams getting their best shot at the franchise. While this formula has given us generational hits, sometimes things can get wacky for the player base. A few games in the franchise have missed the mark in the past, and caused a massive uproar in the community.

It's kind of funny that the 2021 Antoine Fuqua science fiction film "Infinite" is about memory, because it's pretty darn forgettable. The movie stars everyone's favorite hamburger man Mark Wahlberg as Evan McCauley, who discovers that he has skills and knowledge that feel like they come from other lifetimes. He's contacted by people calling themselves "infinites," who explain that his memories are real and they come from his past lives.
It's a pretty interesting premise, but the movie doesn't do anything worthwhile with it and our review gave "Infinite" a paltry 3/10. There are some great action sequences, of course, because Fuqua is one of the great reigning kings of action cinema. Otherwise, though, it's nearly two hours of a katana-wielding Marky Mark in dual roles. That's right: Mr. Funky Bunch plays not only Evan but one of his past selves, which means you get double the Mark Wahlberg. Do with that information what you will.

There’s no denying the fact that the last couple of years have been a wild one for the Halo franchise. Halo Infinite was supposed to revive the franchise and even brought an incredible campaign to the table, but it still managed to fail player expectations due to a lack of content. Players believed that it was the end of the road for the iconic franchise, and Microsoft would divert its resources somewhere else now.

Halo Infinite was a game with lofty promises, from a sprawling open world to improved combat mechanics. Yet, it quickly became clear to everyone that the game was, to put it lightly, yet another mishandled entry in the once-legendary franchise.

Leaving its failure behind, however, Halo Studios is now going back to the drawing board while shifting from the Slipspace Engine to Unreal Engine 5, hoping to rebuild what was lost. But major transitions like these come with significant consequences, and for our money, one of the most notable is the cancellation of Halo Infinite’s sequel.

There’s no doubt that Halo: Reach is one of the best Fps titles we’ve ever seen in the history of the Fps genre. The game officially hit the shelves on September 14th, 2010, and capped off the original Halo games by developer Bungie. It was the story that kicked off with 2001’s Combat Evolved ended in 2007 with the release of Halo 3, but Bungie also gave us Reach.
Halo: Reach was a massive turning point for the Halo franchise. (Image via Microsoft)
Reach completely shook up the Halo formula, though the attention remained on its phenomenal campaign. Placing players in the boots of spartan named Noble Six, Reach invited gamers to buckle up for an emotional, and action-packed set of challenges. Halo: Reach was truly a generational hit, but it was also the reason why another great Halo game didn’t receive the love it deserved from Bungie at that time.

Antoine Fuqua's 2001 cop drama "Training Day" is notable for its hellish tone, gritty photography, and amazing central performance from the incomparable Denzel Washington. Indeed, "Training Day" won Washington his second acting Academy Award for playing LAPD Detective Alonzo Harris, the most horrible and corrupt cop on the force. Ethan Hawke plays Jake Hoyt, the cop assigned to learn from Alonzo on the day before his promotion. Hoyt will get a disturbing crash course in how deeply the violence and corruption of the LAPD really runs.
Although Alonzo is a terrible person, he's an appealing villain, and many viewers came to love his gnashing and displays of brazen power. Alonzo's line "King Kong ain't got nothing on me," written by David Ayer, was briefly a part of the oft-repeated pop canon. "Training Day" was Fuqua's third feature as a director (after "The Replacement Killers" and "Bait"), but it was the...

The main purpose behind the creation of the monumental crossover event of DC comics, Crisis on Infinite Earths, was to streamline DC’s ever-expanding roster of characters from the past fifty years and create a sense of cohesiveness in the process. Helmed by two of the greatest creative minds in comics literature, Marv Wolfman and George Perez, Crisis on Infinite Earths went on to become a pioneering comic epic and championed everything the iconic characters of the franchise stood for. The animated movie trilogy, which concluded with the recently released third part, might have different motivations, character arcs, and altered narrative structure, but in the end, it honors the spirit of its source material by adhering to the final resolution of the series. Like its comics counterpart, the Crisis on Infinite Earths movie trilogy is a story about bringing an end to beloved sagas but also about new beginnings, and...

“We are working on a really awesome project”: Forget Judas, Bioshock 4 is Finally Getting Somewhere!
The last game in the Bioshock series, Bioshock Infinite, was wrapped up with an expansion pack, Burial at Sea Episode 2, in 2014. It seems like the series is all set to continue without Ken Levine, Infinite‘s director, who is preparing to release his own game called Judas which is set to launch next year.
The Senior Cinematic Designer at 2K Cloud Chamber has announced that the team has many positions open. It seems like they are gathering a team to start the development soon. Levine’s Infinite was the last game in the franchise and despite its success, he felt like he trapped himself with the series.

The synopsis reads, "In this high-stakes suspense thriller, Mark Wahlberg plays a pilot transporting an Air Marshal (Michelle Dockery) accompanying a fugitive (Topher Grace) to trial. As they cross the Alaskan wilderness, tensions soar and trust is tested, as not everyone on board is who they seem."
While the plot is fairly straightforward, it promises a wealth of thrills this coming October, which is shaping up to be quite a busy month on the release calendar with the debuts of Joker: Folie à Deux (October 4), White Bird (October 4), Terrifier 3 (October 11), Piece by Piece (October 11), We Live in Time (October...

It's probably fair to say that Bryan Singer's Superman Returns was not well-liked by fans when it hit theaters back in 2006, but many would agree that Brandon Routh did a pretty good job in the role of Clark Kent/Superman.
The movie's tepid reception led to a planned sequel being scrapped, but Routh would get the opportunity to play the Man of Steel many years later as the Kingdom Come version of the legendary DC Comics hero for the CW’s Crisis on Infinite Earths television event.
This appearance most likely marked Routh's final time in the iconic red and blue suit, but the actor has often spoken about his love for Superman and clearly has a strong grasp of what's made him such a popular and enduring character over the years.

What was once believed to be impossible has just shaken the fighting game community to its core. At the Nintendo Direct stream earlier today, it was revealed that the much beloved Marvel vs. Capcom series would be making its return to consoles after a long hiatus.
The collection included the following games:
– X-Men: Children of the Atom
– Marvel Super Heroes
– X-Men vs. Street Fighter
– Marvel Super Heroes vs. Street Fighter
– Marvel vs. Capcom: Clash of the Super Heroes
– Marvel vs. Capcom 2: New Age of Heroes
– Punisher
These games had previously been compiled together on multiple dedicated miniature arcade cabinets by Arcade1Up with multiple different variants. However, many believed that an agreement for a console release would be impossible due to licensing issues from both Capcom and Marvel. But we were proven wrong.

When 343 Industries was developing Halo: Infinite, it had ambitious plans to expand the game’s campaign with future DLCs. It was because the game was originally rumored to be a hub for all future Halo content.
The developer looked to other successful open-world games for inspiration, but this never fully came to fruition in the final product. An expansion to the campaign had been rumored, but it had been previously canceled.
Halo Infinite Had a Much Better Original Campaign That Was Unfortunately Canceled
Halo Infinite’s campaign was ultimately quite underwhelming.
Halo: Infinite, while praised for its return to the series’ roots of the original art style and more focused combat reminiscent of the original trilogy, was supposed to have a much more expansive and dynamic campaign. The canceled expansion aimed to expand on what the initial campaign was supposed to be, and make it more in line with the original vision.

What if the Halo: Combat Evolved the way you knew was just the tip of the iceberg? That there was always more to it? Imagine diving into a world where every cut mission, discarded weapon, gatekept story element, and forgotten character is brought back to life.
This is not just a remaster; it’s a complete reimagining, a tantalizing possibility that has surfaced over X.
Teasing the Halo We Never Knew Will the new Halo: Combat Evolved remake be up to the mark?
Marcus Lehto recently sparked intense speculation with a provocative tweet. He suggested that a potential remaster could include all the content that never made it into the original game. This has fans buzzing about the possibilities of an enriched narrative and expanded gameplay mechanics.

Elder Scrolls 6 was announced in 2018 by Bethesda. Since then, we have heard little to no news about the game, except it officially entered production in 2023 after the studio finished its work with Starfield.
Fans are turning impatient for the upcoming title and criticizing Todd Howard’s studio for not timing the game’s announcement well enough. Fans are comparing the upcoming Elder Scrolls to titles announced simultaneously, which are almost at the end of their lifespan.
Halo Infinite and Elder Scrolls 6 Were Both Announced on the Same Day in 2018
Bethesda cannot risk making the same mistakes as Starfield with The Elder Scrolls 6.
Halo Infinite was a title that challenged the norms in the Fps shooter franchise. This included the game’s multiplayer following a free-to-play model, unlike any others in the franchise, which required gamers to play for the entire game. The game also faced a lot of criticism from purists and series veterans.

Arrowhead Game Studios’ Helldivers 2 has been one of the most popular third-person shooter video games for the past few months, however, Xbox players never got to experience the game since Sony was closely linked with the development of Helldivers 2. This was quite unfortunate but a small development studio called The Forge Falcons wanted to give Xbox players a proper Helldivers 2 experience using their own Xbox-exclusive game, Halo Infinite.
Helljumpers is a Helldivers 2-like game mode within Halo Infinite (via The Falcon Studios)
The Forge Falcons came up with a ‘Helljumpers‘ Halo Infinite project which provides a Helldivers 2-like PvE experience using Halo Infinite‘s Forge. The studio aimed for a release in early June but the final release date has been revealed: 28th June. The Forge Falcons revealed that the development is going extremely well, however, they will have to delay the project if it doesn’t meet their expectations.

Halo, one of Microsoft’s most iconic franchises, revolutionized the console Fps genre. Given that Halo Infinite did not meet the company’s expectations, 343 Industries may be planning to reveal an update for the franchise at the upcoming Xbox Summer Showcase.
At least this is what fans are hoping to see at the anticipated event. The latest game was released at the end of 2021. Three years have passed, and Infinite has not added a ton of content post-launch. The players want to see this legendary franchise reborn with a new game.

Halo Infinite players have been quite creative with the forge mode, just like in previous installments of the franchise. Being the latest iteration of the forge mode, the one in Infinite is by far the most advanced and offers the most freedom and flexibility. Players have shown some really good creativity and versatility with the mode ever since.
The latest standout creation is a mode called Survive the Undead, which is now available in Halo Infinite’s matchmaking until June 4. It’s created by a group called The Forge Falcons, a well-known team of creators that features around a dozen members.
Classic Zombies Experience With a Halo Twist
Halo Infinite players can now play a version of the classic Zombies mode in the game.
The Survive the Undead mode brings the popular Call of Duty Zombies-like experience to Halo Infinite, using the Banished race of enemies from the main campaign.

Halo Infinite is the first open-world game in the series, and its development cycle reflects that. Taking 6 years to develop on 343’s brand-new Slipspace engine, Infinite ended up releasing in 2021, after a year-long delay from its initial planned release.
Going the open-world route was a big point of debate for the return of Master Chief, as well as Infinite‘s unconventional direction as a “spiritual reboot” built on a smaller scale compared to other open-world titles. However, here’s why that might have been the very element that saved the franchise.

Arguably, the most famous fictional planet is Krypton -- the home of Kal-El, aka Clark Kent, aka Superman. But while Krypton gets all the attention, it's not the only desolated former metropolis in the DC Universe.

As I get older, I find it harder and harder to find horror movies from the 80s and even 90s to qualify for a recommendation towards a best horror movie you never saw. First is the influx of all these great companies like Vinegar Syndrome, Arrow, and Severin Films, not to mention Kino and Scream Factory, who pull out all the stops finding the most hidden of hidden gems to clean up and release. Second, we have a ludicrous amount of streaming services, and the free ones typically can find these smaller movies that cost way less to license a streamable version. Between my generation recommending everything under the sun to their coworkers, friends, and family as well as newer generations being willing to stream something if its easy to find, the 80s is well represented, for better and for worse. The 2000s are Chock Full of movies that came...

Plot: Dan Morgan loves his quiet suburban life as a devoted husband, father of three and successful car salesman. But that’s only half the story. Decades earlier, he was an elite government assassin tasked with eliminating the world’s deadliest threats. When enemies from his past track him down, Dan packs his unsuspecting wife, angsty teen daughter, pro-gamer teen son and adorable 10-month-old baby into their minivan and takes off on an impromptu cross-country road trip to Las Vegas. Determined to protect his family — while treating them to the vacation of a lifetime — Dan must put his long-dormant skills into action, without revealing his true identity.
Review: Mark Wahlberg’s recent output has been mixed at best. For every solid acting project, Wahlberg has churned out awful action (Infinite), terrible comedy (Me Time), and a couple of attempts at franchises. The actor’s latest project blends humor and action in The Family Plan.
