Trivia
The scene where Cherry locks Melrose in a sleeper hold is based on a story told by original GLOW trainer Mando Guerrero, where he put an unnamed GLOW candidate in the same submission hold after she boasted that wrestling was fake.

In the opening, "The Look" by Roxette is playing. This song was released in 1988, but the year is supposed to be 1985.

Sheila the She-Wolf: Sheila. Sheila. And... I have a very acute sense of smell.

Trash talk and homewreckers

Evidently, the focus will be on the rivalry between Ruth (Alison Brie) and Debbie (Betty Gilpin), which makes for great conflict. Also moved into a more prominent role is Cherry (Sydelle Noel) as the fitness trainer. And then there's Marc Maron, master agitator, putting everyone at each there's throats. So lovably hateful.

It doesn't have the nudity or action of the pilot and feels like strict setup, but that groundwork alone holds promise. And Maron continues to steal the show.
