"Bruno Mindhorn" was the name of a character who appeared briefly in an episode ("Jungle") of the radio series of The Mighty Boosh, written by and starring Julian Barratt and Noel Fielding.
The "Mindhorn" opening titles pay homage to The Six Million Dollar Man (1974). Both characters are given bionic implants to help them fight bad guys.
The production budget was just under £3 million and the film was set and shot on the Isle of Man as a tax concession.
The license plate on Mindhorn's car is "S33 TRU", which is read as "See True", a play on Mindhorn's line of "It's Truth Time!"
Richard Thorncroft's physical appearance and demeanor was loosely based on cult actor Peter Wyngarde.
