Unfortunately, most people seem to have wanted a remake of the 90's cartoon musical/comedy.
Disney probably tried to get its Wonder Woman / Black Panther moment and they succeeded with an incredible Asian cast and female lead by a major studio in a tremendously anticipated film.
But ironically, it's one of the most hated films of the year, brought down by fans of a 20 year old cartoon that this is not a remake of. Too bad!
