Thuy-Van Truong

Thuy-Van Truong is a German actress, graduate of Paderborn University and earned a scholarship to study Creative Art at Umeå University in Sweden. During her studies, Thuy got interested in acting and, in 2011, got her first big role of "Marie" in Georg Büchner's play "Woyzeck" at Studiobühne Paderborn. Her stage credits include William Shakespeare's "A Midsummer Night's Dream" (role fairy), Alexandre de La Patellière's and Matthieu Delaporte's "Le Prénom" (role Anna), Friedrich Dürrenmatt's "Der Besuch der alten Dame" (role Koby), and Engelbert Humperdinck's opera "Hänsel & Gretel" (role family member). After her graduation, Thuy gained her first cinematic experiences in movies such as "In the Fades" (starring Diane Kruger), "Eleanor & Colette" (starring Hilary Swank and Helena Bonham Carter), and "7500" (starring Joseph Gordon-Levitt). Thuy received leading parts in commercials and was also a guest starred on German television series like "Sträters Männerhaushalt", "Rabenmütter", and "Check Check". In 2019, Thuy was especially interested in dancing and took part in several workshops (House Dance, Hip Hop New Style & Lyrical, and Popping-Locking). She also had the privilege of working with choreographer Gianni Cuccaro and award-winning dancer Noriko Nishidate at Theater Bielefeld amongst an international ensemble, dancing in "Schrittmacher".
