Daniel Lamont was born in Fairview, Ohio, to Anna Lamont, a Pediatric LPN, and Daniel A. Lamont, a Railroad Worker with Conrail and Norfolk & Southern Railroads traveling between Buffalo, Pittsburgh, and Cleveland. His grandfather, John J. Furgal, Master of the Thomas Wilson, was the youngest ship captain on the Great Lakes in Erie, Pennsylvania.
He is a diverse Actor, Stand-In, and Stunt Double with on-set weapons training. Daniel is best known for his performance versatility, easily transitioning from comedy, to tough guy, to law enforcement, and more serious roles such as an ICU Nurse, Butcher, Caterer, and Businessman.
Daniel's strongest acting qualities stem from his ability to convincingly project the stern, tough persona. His screen presence commands respect, and he's often cast in positions of authority. He frequently accepts roles where the character has to "get things done" and is willing to do whatever it takes to accomplish his task. This characteristic is drawn from his real-life experiences.
Daniel is well known in the entertainment industry for being easy to work with and fun, motivating peers and audiences. He's willing to do what others are not and go to the extent others won't, solidifying his reputation as a dependable, hard-working, honest, and goal-oriented performer. He has accepted roles for the experience and networking, driving through blizzards and storms to get to locations, sleeping in his car between trips to Baltimore, Chicago, Pittsburgh, and Georgia.
He attributes his ability to work long hours on set for long stretches of time with extended travel to his 20 years as a Head Chef in many fast-paced Italian restaurants, a Machine Operator, and an Entrepreneur. He loves to challenge himself and push beyond his limits to follow his dream of becoming a full-time union actor.
Daniel has always had a passion for acting. In 2001, he took second place in Improv and third place in Commercials in the Millie Lewis Acting Competition in Hilton Head. He took a step back from acting to grow his family. In 2015, a resurgence of his interest for acting transpired and he has since appeared in over 100 movies, television series, commercials, music videos, and print ads.
His impressive list of credits dates back to 2016 when he landed his first notable role being cast in fight club scenes in Outsiders and a parent in My Friend Dahmer. His biggest breakthrough role to date casted as a prison guard in Escape 3: The Extractors. While he was in wardrobe, the makeup artist stated if they changed his look a little, he could be the Stand-In/Double for Sylvester Stallone. This performance led to the fortuity casting as the Stand-In/Double for Holt McCallany in the Netflix Series: Mindhunters, as well as actors Taylor Kinney and Dominic Fumusa.
Networking during this eight-month-long project catapulted him into his first lead character role as Luther in the Indie film, Squad, and a judge in the web series The Connected 2. He was then presented with the opportunity to travel to Chicago to perform in several roles in hit tv shows like Empire, Chicago Fire, Chicago PD, Chicago Med, The Chi, Red Line, The Trail of the Chicago 7, and Next for Fox TV. Every opportunity has progressed his career and he is now landing prominent production roles such as baseball player Martin Cook in the Amazon Series: A League of Their Own; a role that's nostalgic for him since, before acting, his life ambition was to be a professional baseball player and had even traveled with a team as a pitcher and third baseman.
The side of Daniel that's seen less often is his comedic side. He's very funny in roles such as Tom's dad in Highly Unlikely and in the short Inappropriate Behavior. If you have ever had a conversation with him, he's hysterical. With a wink and a nod, Daniel says that one of his future ambitions is to be in a police bullpen, two desks from Jeremy Renner, star of the Mayor of Kingstown, and be the guy that hands him paperwork and says, "I need a favor."
A large part of the force that drives this venerable Actor is his deep appreciation for life's fragility. Losing his brother, mother, and father to cancer in 2019 within six months of each other was a life-altering experience that shook him to his very core. It motivated him with a sense of gratitude and urgency to live life to the fullest, appreciating every day and every role. Daniel's loss of his family has instilled a passionate desire to help others and give back to his community and other actors.
