If there’s anything fans anticipate in House of the Dragon all season long, it’s the dragon fight scenes. Nothing is more terrifying and nerve-wracking than seeing these giant beasts take the battle up in the sky, and Season 1 of the hit HBO franchise delivered one of the most intense dragon fight sequences.

The epic finale of the first season was so memorable because not only did it break our hearts with the death of Prince Lucerys Velaryon, but it also kickstarted the major event of the show: the Dance of the Dragons.

GQ is a magazine that focuses on fashion, style and culture for men. If they say that this or that guy is one of the best-dressed people alive, I'm willing to take it on faith. So congratulations to House of the Dragon star Ewan Mitchell for being named one of the best-dressed guests at GQ's Men of the Year event.
GQ also profiled Mitchell, which gave him a chance to talk about playing the vengeful, one-eyed Aemond Targaryen on House of the Dragon, but today's it's all about the fashion. Apparently he's wearing Dior, which makes really long coats with subtle verical stripes:
The mad prince of Westeros deserves a menswear royal standing for this Dior get-up at #Gqmoty.

Ewan Mitchell has broken out in the past few years thanks to role in movies like Saltburn and shows like House of the Dragon, where he plays the one-eyed dragon-riding revenge machine Aemond Targaryen. “He almost floats into scenes," Mitchell told GQ about the character. "He’s almost an idea rather than a person,” says Mitchell. “The way he looks, he screams ‘villain.’”
That he does. Mitchell went even further, comparing Aemond to famous movie monster Michael Myers, who's been hacking and slashing his way across the big screen since the 1970s. “No matter how much Jamie Lee Curtis’ [character] tries to wind through the trees to escape Michael Myers, [he always] catches up with her. The idea that this guy is your maker, and you will meet him eventually.”
And yet, it's possible to see where Aemond is coming from, at least some of the time. In the first season, we saw...

House of the Dragon features a talented ensemble cast, with several actors delivering mindblowing performances in their respective roles. Actor Ewan Mitchell plays one of the most complex characters in the show in the form of Aemond Targaryen. However, Mitchell took inspiration from a surprising actor’s most iconic performance.

During an interview, Mitchell admitted to drawing inspiration from the legendary James Gandolfini. The actor explained how he was inspired by the latter’s turn as Tony Soprano in the hit HBO drama The Sopranos. At the same time, Mitchell also highlighted a parallel between his and Gandolfini’s character. Here is how James Gandolfini inspired Ewan Mitchell’s House of the Dragon role.

It’s clear that Lucerys Velaryon’s death pushed the Dance of the Dragons to happen, but what if Aemond Targaryen did not kill him in House of the Dragon? Fans would remember the Prince Regent’s hatred for his nephew because of that one incident in Driftmark where the latter slashed at his face, eventually blinding his left eye (the right one in the book).

If the events were reversed, and Aemond got the upper hand, eventually blinding Luke, what would be the judgment? Will Viserys Targaryen punish him or be lenient through and through? There are so many possible outcomes that could be explored had it happened the other way around.

We have a while to wait before we get to see new episodes of House of the Dragon, HBO's Game of Thrones prequel series, but the cast members are keeping busy in the meantime. At the moment, Emma D'Arcy (Rhaenyra Targaryen) is starring in a Greek myth-inspired drama called The Other Place at the National Theatre in London. D'Arcy is incredibly compelling onscreen and I can easily imagine them commanding the stage as well.
That said, the National Theater is an ocean away from where I live, so I doubt I'll be taking it in. But D'Arcy's House of the Dragon castmates live much closer. In a video on X, we can see House of the Dragon stars Harry Collett (who plays Rhaenyra's son Jace) and Ewan Mitchell (who plays her younger half-brother Aemond) showing up to watch their colleague work:

Fabien Frankel’s Ser Criston Cole isn’t the most favorite character in the show right now, but fans cannot deny that the role brought so much color and emotion to the already fascinating world of HBO’s House of the Dragon.

Cole is one of the most interesting parts of the story – he went from pledging loyalty to Rhaenyra Targaryen to switching sides and supporting King Aegon, but for the most part, he was always with Team Green.
Fabien Frankel Will Always Be Team Green
The beginning of the Dance of the Dragons was also the time when fans started taking sides, and it is safe to assume that the majority of viewers extended their full support on Team Black. It’s easy to see why they have people’s sympathy.

George R.R. Martin expressed dismay over the changes made in Season 2 of House of the Dragon. The first episode alone had a massive and terrible change that will surely affect the rest of the story, but the succeeding episodes were all the more difficult to comprehend.

Take, for instance, Daemon Targaryen’s arc. The character had been going through strange hallucinations for the entire season, and while it was understandable that Harrenhal got him under a spell, it became too much. He lost a lot of significant screen time that could have been used for a much better purpose.

Ahead of the premiere of House of the Dragon season 2, HBO rolled out a number of gorgeous promotional images of the characters raked by pain and anguish, appropriate since they were about to go head to head in a brutal civil war known as the Dance of the Dragons. It resulted in stark posters like this one of Rhaenyra Targaryen looking ashen and pained:

Ever thought the camera was a secret cast member? George R.R. Martin certainly does! The connection between Succession and House of the Dragon Season 2 is as deep as a dragon’s lair. Both shows play a game of power with their cameras, making them as integral to the plot as any character. Martin’s own epic saga embraces the intense, almost voyeuristic gaze of the lens, creating a parallel between the high-stakes boardrooms of Succession and the fiery thrones of House of the Dragon.

It’s as if the camera itself is scheming, plotting, and maybe even dragons’ best friend. This unexpected kinship’s a testament to the storytelling prowess of both series, proving that even the lens’ got a role to play.

Drama rocked the Seven Kingdoms the other day as Game of Thrones creator George R.R. Martin wrote and then quickly deleted a blog post detailing his problems with HBO's Game of Thrones prequel series House of the Dragon, which is based on his book Fire & Blood. He focused on how cutting the characters of Maelor Targaryen from the season 2 premiere could have pernicious butterfly effects on the story down the line, but he made it clear that he had bigger problems beyond this, teasing "more toxic butterflies to come, if House Of The Dragon goes ahead with some of the changes being contemplated for seasons 3 and 4."
Martin has been in the public eye for years, but he's never stirred the pot quite like this. HBO released a statement defending House of the Dragon showrunner Ryan Condal as well as a podcast interview with Condal where he defends his adaptation decisions.

Last week, George R.R. Martin took to his “Not a Blog” to hint at some significant grievances with the recent sophomore season of HBO's Game of Thrones prequel series, House of the Dragon, promising to go into more detail soon.
The writer has now done just that, with a lengthy post outlining why he felt one particular character omission in the season premiere could have a "butterfly effect" on later seasons of the show.
He also spoils a significant season 3 death - at least for those who haven't read the book.
In the show, King Aegon and Queen Helaena have two children (Jaehaerys and Jaehaera), but in Martin's Fire and Blood, the twins have a younger brother, 2-year-old Maelor. The infamous “Blood and Cheese” sequence in the series shows the hired thugs kill Jaehaerys in front of his mother, but the events of the book are quite different - and a lot more disturbing.

George R.R. Martin is breaking his (relative) silence about HBO’s “House of the Dragon.”
After initially responding positively to Season 2 of the series, Martin turned to his blog on September 4 to dig deeper into a major change from “Fire & Blood” and how it did and will continue to affect “House of the Dragon” moving forward.
Season 2, Episode 1 ended with the murder of the child Jaehaerys, son of Helaena (Phia Saban) and Aegon (Tom Glynn-Carney) and grandson of Alicent (Olivia Cooke) and Viserys (Paddy Considine). Two unnamed assassins known as “Blood” and “Cheese” kill the boy to avenge Rhaenyra’s (Emma D’Arcy) son, who died at the end of Season 1 in dragon flight with Aemond (Ewan Mitchell). The episode title, “A Son for a Son,” refers to this act.
And while the structure and result of the sequence in the same, Martin points out that in the book, there is...

There are probably plenty of ups and downs when it comes to working alongside your heroes, but it has to be especially weird to perform with actors you've been watching since childhood.
For the young stars of HBO's "House of the Dragon," including Ewan Mitchell, who plays Prince Aemond Targaryen, performing with Matt Smith, who plays Prince/King Consort (it depends on who you ask) Daemon Targaryen had to be utterly surreal. Smith portrayed the Eleventh Doctor on the internationally beloved British science-fiction series "Doctor Who" from 2010 to 2014, meaning he was likely a near-constant pop culture presence for the cast, who are primarily from the U.K. themselves. In order to not allow thoughts of the kindly, funny Doctor infiltrate his mind while acting opposite Smith, Mitchell decided to try something a little unusual. It was kind of Method acting, putting himself into his character as best he could, though...

House of the Dragon recently wrapped premiering episodes of the second season. In the season 2 premiere of House of the Dragon, Helaena Targaryen (Phia Saban) suffered an enormous trauma when her young son Jaehaerys was decapitated in front of her, killed by assassins sent into the Red Keep by Daemon Targaryen (Matt Smith). Helaena didn't have much to do for most of the rest of the season, but she had a part to play in the season finale, where she refused to ride her dragon Dreamfyre into battle alongside her brother Aemond (Ewan Mitchell) to help with his war effort.
She rejects him in pretty certain terms, using her precognitive abilities as a dreamer to foretell his own death. “You were swallowed up in the God’s Eye, and you were never seen again,” she tells him.

Despite criticisms for the second season of House of the Dragon, it feels like the one thing viewers can agree on is that the cast is always fantastic. The first two seasons have introduced us to many characters, and even multiple actors playing the same characters due to time jumps. Throughout it all, there has not been one cast member who's disappointed me. The performances are excellent across the board, adding to the prestige quality of the show.
Though I have my favorite characters in House of the Dragon, choosing a favorite actor is difficult. They're all so good and bring nuances to their characters. I was shocked that I started wanting more Aegon on my screen in season 2, a character I can't stand, just because Tom Glynn-Carney's performance is so captivating. And even one of the writers, Sara Hess, was taken aback by how much people fell in...

The final episode of House of the Dragon Season 2 saw Aemond finally unleash his anger on a small town called Sharp Point. Fans may be wondering why of all places, he chose to burn that poor coastal settlement.

In a scene, Lord Larys informed King Aegon that the Prince Regent “has gone in fury to Sharp Point and laid waste to the whole of the town.” There’s a simple explanation to this, although the whole thing seemed a bit unlike the character of Aemond.
Why Did Aemond Burn Sharp Point?
At the end of Episode 7, viewers saw Aemond on Vhagar’s back, retreating after seeing Rhaenyra with three dragons. Looking at the map of Westeros, Sharp Point is just below Dragonstone and Driftmark, and anyone passing through the Blackwater Bay to King’s Landing will easily spot this town.

With “House of the Dragon” closing out its second season last week, it might be time to look elsewhere to get your dosage of dragons and family drama.

House Lannister knight Ser Tyland (Jefferson Hall) treats with pirates. Rhaena (Phoebe Campbell) continues her search for a wild dragon in the Vale of Arryn. Aemond (Ewan Mitchell), shook by the discovery of Rhaenyra’s fresh dragon army, tries to even the playing field. Daemon’s (Matt Smith) allegiances are decided. Alicent (Olivia Cooke) makes a choice for her family’s future.
According to showrunner Ryan Condal, “The final episode is such a great build for everywhere we’ve been in Season 2 and promising what’s to come.” Audiences are pushing back on that after the highly anticipated finale didn’t deliver on the action-based climax we were expecting.

Our time in Westeros has come to an end for the time being, with the sophomore season of House of the Dragon concluding on August 4. Though many criticized the season for being too slow (myself included), those who have read Fire & Blood still have faith that future seasons will be absolutely epic. Looking at the source material, we have so many major moments ahead of us — unless the writers change that, that is — not just including big battles. Yes, don't worry, there are more battles to come, but there are also interesting dynamics that'll form along with new alliances and betrayals.
Warning: Minor spoilers for Fire & Blood are below.
It's not surprising that book fans have tried to ask the cast about pivotal future moments for their characters; how could you not? When speaking with Ewan Mitchell, who portrays Aemond Targaryen, Decider tried to get some insight into a relationship...

The “House of the Dragon” Season 2 finale gave viewers a sneak peek at Prince Daeron Targaryen, and we’ll be seeing a lot more of the as-of-now-unseen third brother when the “Game of Thrones” spin-off series returns.
The final moments of Season 2 Episode 8 delivered a blink-and-you’ll-miss-it glimpse at Daeron’s blue dragon named Tessarion, and showrunner Ryan Condal confirmed in a Monday press conference that fans will officially meet Daeron in Season 3, which is slated to begin filming in early 2025.
If you need a refresher on who Dareon is, he is the fourth child and third son of Alicent (Olivia Cooke) and Viserys (Paddy Considine), though he has not been depicted on screen thus far in “House of the Dragon.” His existence was confirmed in Season 2, when Otto (Rhys Ifans) mentions traveling down to Oldtown, where he says Dareon was living. HBO's Game of Thrones prequel series House of the Dragon is now in between seasons for at least two years, having wrapped up the second season on August 4. While we look back at the season's best and worst moments, there are also plenty of interviews from the cast and crew to read and watch. One of the show's stars, Ewan Mitchell, might not have had the most screentime as Aemond Targaryen, but he won over the fandom's heart (very much including mine) with his strong performance and endearing interview clips.
During an appearance on the BBC podcast Loose Ends, Mitchell explained the characteristics of Aemond and talked about the fact that he hasn't seen Game of Thrones. In one moment of the interview, the actor also recalled watching House of the Dragon season 2 with his mom, including his nude scene from the third episode, "The Burning Mill." The only thing is,...

To celebrate the finale of House of the Dragon: Season Two airing last weekend, we had the pleasure to chat to Aemon Targaryen himself Ewan Mitchell about the whirlwind of the last weeks and much more in between.
Based on George R.R. Martin’s Fire & Blood and set 200 years before the events of Game of Thrones, the series tells the story of House Targaryen. Starring Paddy Considine, Matt Smith, Olivia Cooke, Emma D’Arcy, Steve Toussaint, Eve Best, Sonoya Mizuno, Fabien Frankel, Ewan Mitchell and Rhys Ifans.
Chatting to Mitchell, who also starred in last year’s Saltburn, talks about his initial thoughts on joining such a huge series, not watching the original to further focus on his interpretation and performance of a Targaryen, why he was drawn to Aemond and his struggles as much as his trajectory through the two seasons, his influences in bringing this complex character to life,...

[Warning: The following contains Major spoilers for the House of the Dragon Season 2 finale, “The Queen Who Ever Was.”] Phia Saban‘s Helaena has more powers in House of the Dragon than she’s afforded in George R.R. Martin‘s Fire & Blood, but her greatest power may be over younger brother Aemond (Ewan Mitchell). The director of the Season 2 finale, Geeta Vasant Patel, tells TV Insider that Helaena is the only person capable of “taming” Aemond, who’s possessed by his desire for power. Aemond asked his sister to ride her dragon, Dreamfyre, into battle in the August 4 season finale, but what he got in response was a chilling omen from Helaena, who said she foresaw his death and Aegon’s (Tom Glynn-Carney) return to the throne. Patel says that Aemond’s only acts of compassion of the season are tied to his sister, for whom he may have deeper feelings. “One thing that Ryan [Condal, showrunner] and ...

Spoiler Alert: This story contains spoilers for HBO’s “House of the Dragon” Season 2 finale, titled “The Queen Who Ever Was,” now streaming on Max.
For much of “House of the Dragon,” Helaena Targaryen has spoken in riddles about what will unfold for the two factions within House Targaryen, the Greens and the Blacks.
That is, until the Season 2 finale, when she tells her brother Aemond (Ewan Mitchell): “Aegon will be king again.” As for the one-eyed Prince Regent, he’ll be dead.
“You were swallowed up in the God’s Eye, and you were never seen again,” Helaena says to him.
All the trauma Helaena’s endured this season, from her son Jaehaerys’ murder to the smallfolk attacking her and her mother Alicent (Olivia Cooke) outside the Sept, has led to this moment of clarity, Phia Saban explains.
“The present is a little bit too painful to live in for now,...

The season 2 finale of House of the Dragon aired this past Sunday, with the episode - and the season overall - coming in for quite a bit of backlash.
Season 1 of the Game of Thrones prequel series laid the groundwork for the Targaryen civil war known as the Dance of the Dragons, and season 2... continued to set up the conflict.
Though we did get to see a couple of exciting events such as the Battle of Rook's Rest and the Red Sowing, most of the episodes focused on moving the pieces into place for the major battles to come.
There's nothing wrong with more character-focused drama, of course, but the consensus among fans seems to be that most of the supporting players simply aren't compelling enough to sustain interest, and it seems obvious that HBO is padding out the story as much as possible with repetitive, drawn-out arcs.

“House of the Dragon” Season 2 wasn’t kind to King Aegon II, but actor Tom Glynn-Carney says to expect a resurgence in Season 3.
Halfway through the season, Aegon was burned by his brother Aemond (Ewan Mitchell) while the two fought Rhaenys (Eve Best) at the Battle of Rook’s Rest. Since then he’s been fading in and out of consciousness and becoming “a shell of himself.”
In the Season 2 finale, Larys (Matthew Needham) came to Aegon’s bedside and recommended the two get out of dodge before the war came to King’s Landing. After some convincing, Aegon agreed and the two were last seen carting off to parts unknown.
“There’s a fire in his eyes that I’ve certainly not seen that’ll lead us into Season 3,” Glynn-Carney told TheWrap. “This new focused, cold version of the man who wants to exact revenge.”

The “House of the Dragon” Season 2 finale left off with one character’s potential execution in an effort to halt the growing civil war in Westeros — a deal which star Phia Saban said will be a “tough pill to swallow” for Helaena.
In Episode 8, Alicent (Olivia Cooke) traveled to Dragonstone to make a plea for peace to Rhaenyra (Emma D’Arcy), offering up a way to take the throne without further bloodshed while Aemond (Ewan Mitchell) is absent. As part of the deal, Alicent consented to Rhaenyra’s term that she must kill Aegon (Tom Glynn-Carney) — unknowingly to Helaena.
“It would be a tough pill to swallow to know that about any member of your family,” Saban told TheWrap of Alicent’s deal. “I wonder if [Helaena will] ever hear that that was the plan. I wonder what will happen.

This article contains spoilers for House of the Dragon season 2 episode 8 and some details from Fire & Blood that could spoil future seasons.
HBO’s House of the Dragon is once again returning to roost as “The Queen Who Ever Was” brings this season to a close. Some were disappointed that House of the Dragon season 2 swapped battles for family feuds, while others have dubbed it the season of Mia characters after George R.R. Martin himself referred to Blood and Cheese’s Maelor the Missing.
House of the Dragon is more a loose adaptation of Martin’s Fire & Blood, which works thanks to the book’s unreliable narrators. We’ve seen this through the likes of Aemond (Ewan Mitchell) burning Aegon (Tom Glynn-Carrey) at the Battle of Rook’s Rest, Alicent’s (Olivia Cooke) game-changing finale deal, and the whole “Blood and Cheese” debacle. Now, episode 8 has backed up those theories...

The Targaryens are the star of HBO’s House of the Dragon but it doesn’t take away the fact that many minor characters from other houses deserve the spotlight. One of them is Ser Simon Strong, the castellan of Harrenhal.
Simon Russell Beale in House of the Dragon / HBO
Many times he stood up to Daemon Targaryen, though he isn’t exactly a difficult character. In fact, he surrendered Harrenhal and pledged allegiance to Queen Rhaenyra Targaryen the moment the Rogue Prince entered the castle.
Who Is Ser Simon Strong In House Of The Dragon?
Ser Simon Strong is played by Simon Russell Beale, one of the pillars of British theater. For someone in the industry who has won a Tony, three Olivier Awards, and two BAFTAs, he was thrilled to join the show despite learning his character’s description.

House of the Dragon Season 2 is building to its (hopefully dragon-y) conclusion. With Aemond (Ewan Mitchell) serving as Prince Regent, the power dynamic within Team Green remains in a state of flux. Aegon (Tom Glynn-Carney), revealed last episode to have survived his injuries (for now), is bedridden. Meanwhile, Rhaenyra (Emma D’Arcy), unsure if Daemon (Matt Smith) intends to support her in the war, pursues a wild act of faith in the hopes of gaining an advantage. Daemon is still away from Dragonstone, suffering the hallucinogenic affects of the reputedly cursed castle Harrenhal as he attempts to gain support in the Riverlands.

“House of the Dragon” hit a Season 2 high in viewership with Sunday’s finale, which drew 8.9 million multiplatform viewers across HBO and Max, per Warner Bros. Discovery.
That’s up 14% from the Season 2 premiere night, which garnered 7.8 million viewers. However, it is down from the audience size for the first season finale of “House of the Dragon” in 2022.
After premiering with 10 million viewers in June 2022, “House of the Dragon” Season 1 hit its peak with Episode 2, reaching 10.2 million. Exact data was not made available for Episodes 3-9, but Episode 10 closed the season with 9.3 million viewers.
Warner Bros. Discovery attributed the season opener declines to a drop in linear viewing, as fewer viewers now watch on HBO’s cable channel. But on the flip side, the conglom reports that Sunday’s “House of the Dragon” finale has now led to the biggest streaming day ever for Max, both in the U.S.

[Warning: The following contains Major spoilers for House of the Dragon Season 2.] The Targaryen civil war will take place over just two more seasons of House of the Dragon. HBO and series co-creator Ryan Condal announced on August 5, the day after the Season 2 finale, that the Game of Thrones prequel will end with Season 4. They also shared the first production update on Season 3. Based on George R.R. Martin’s Fire & Blood, House of the Dragon is set 200 years before the events of Game of Thrones and tells the story of House Targaryen. War has broken out between the two sides of the family after Alicent Hightower (Olivia Cooke) usurped the Iron Throne in favor of her son, Aegon (Tom Glynn-Carney) at the end of Season 1 and robbing Rhaenyra (Emma D’Arcy) of her inheritance. This was followed by the death of Rhaenyra’s young son Lucerys (Elliot Grihault) at the hand of Aemond’s (Ewan Mitchell) dragon Vhagar.

On the heels of its Season 2 finale, “House of the Dragon” fans can expect another two seasons from the “Game of Thrones” spin-off series.
While the “GoT” prequel series has only been renewed for a third installment thus far, showrunner Ryan Condal noted in a Monday press conference that the team is aiming for four seasons total for “House of the Dragon.”
Writing is already underway on Season 3, according to Condal, and is slated to begin production in early 2025 after prep starts this fall. Though Condal said he hasn’t had discussions with HBO about the episode count for Season 3, he said he would “anticipate the cadence of the show, from a dramatic storytelling perspective, will continue to be the same from Season 2 on.”

“It’s massive that Alicent travels to Rhaenyra — it’s treason,” Cooke said in HBO’s featurette diving into Season 2 Episode 8. “If Aemond found out, head on a spike. But it’s also to look Rhaenyra in the eye as my rawest self.”
In the Season 2 finale, titled “The Queen Who Ever Was,” Alicent (Cooke) finds passage to Dragonstone, desperate to speak with Rhaenyra (Emma D’Arcy) about bypassing an even bloodier war that’s just around the corner in Westeros. Alicent made a plea for peace by offering Rhaenyra to take the Iron Throne peacefully while Aemond (Ewan Mitchell) is away at Harrenhal.

This article contains spoilers for House of the Dragon season 2 episode 8 and the Game of Thrones series finale.
HBO has fanned the flames of intrigue, and as House of the Dragon season 2 comes to an end, the fires have truly been lit beneath the Targaryen civil war. While House of the Dragon vies to tell its own story a century before Game of Thrones, it seems the prequel can’t help but tie itself to the mythos of its bigger brother.
This season has been littered with more prophecies than usual, but thanks to Daemon Targayren’s (Matt Smith) trippy weirwood tree vision, it’s not just Helaena Targaryen (Phia Saban) who’s looking to the future. The writers like meddling in the past more than Bran Stark, with the House of the Dragon season 2 finale potentially teasing a major Game of Thrones retcon involving the Prince That Was Promised.

Note: The following story contains spoilers from “House of the Dragon” Season 2 Episode 8.
“House of the Dragon” closed out its second season by resolving several season-long conflicts, while further complicating the civil war ahead.
After Episode 7 saw Rhaenyra (Emma D’Arcy) successfully recruit new dragon riders to join Team Black, hopes were high at Dragonstone; while those at King’s Landing braced themselves for the worst, even considering fleeing the conflict altogether. Still badly wounded from Rook’s Rest, Aegon (Tom Glynn-Carney) decided whether to face the music of his brother’s perilous plans, while Helaena (Phia Saban) and Alicent (Olivia Cooke) resisted getting involved in bloodshed.
At Harrenhal, Daemon (Matt Smith) came face-to-face with a vision of the Ice and Fire prophecy that solidified his allegiance, just in time to reunite with Rhaenyra. And we got a faraway first-look at the missing Targaryen prince.

Spoiler Alert !!!Spoiler Warning for House of the Dragon Season 2 Episode 8
The season finale of House of the Dragon Season 2 just dropped, and it is safe to say that it showed a lot of new details more than the audience expected. The episode is unlike any typical ending that ends with a great battle scene; in fact, it concludes just as the battle begins.
Matt Smith in House of the Dragon / HBO
It pains to wait for at least two years again, but Episode 8 had a lot of things that need to be dissected, one of which was Daemon Targaryen’s visions at Harrenhal. That part of the show seemed to have been going on forever, but the final chapter just gave fans one mind-blowing surprise.

The House of the Dragon finale has divided response among fans as it left more cliffhangers for fans for Season 3 rather than telling a finale-worthy story. For any other show, the cliffhangers would’ve made fans wait for the next season in much anticipation. However, the Game of Thrones franchise (including the books) is known for its snail-paced development.

Spoiler Alert! This story contains details from the season 2 finale of House of the Dragon on HBO.
Rhaenyra was more than ready for battle.
With an additional three dragons under her banner, The White Worm telling her that God was on her side and Daemon finally returning from his strange holiday to declare fealty, Rhaenyra (Emma D’Arcy) was all but assured she could overtake King’s Landing and return to the throne that is rightfully hers.
But then Alicent (Olivia Cooke) came calling with a surprise promise: Rhaenyra should hightail it to King’s Landing where she’ll find the mad Aemond (Ewan Mitchell) temporarily out of pocket and the gates open so can “enter as a conquerer.” In return, Alicent will hit the road where she can be “at last myself, to die unremarked, unnoticed and to be free.”
Someone has to die, however, Rhaenyra reminds her — and it...
