Still trying to figure out what “Severance” was all about? Worried that you won’t keep up once Season 2 finally starts in the new year? Have no fear because, as with many popular shows of this era, the hit Apple TV+ sci-fi series is getting its own companion podcast.

“The Severance Podcast with Ben Stiller and Adam Scott” will dive into all the crazy reveals and dangling plotlines, providing in-depth examination and personal background from the director and star of the show themselves. The podcast launches January 7 with two episodes and will release new episodes every week day covering Season 1 of “Severance” until January 16. Once Season 2 premieres on Apple TV+ on January 17, new episodes will be released weekly on Fridays.

“The Severance Podcast with Ben Stiller and Adam Scott is an episode-by-episode, behind-the-scenes breakdown of the award-winning show, conducted with the creators, cast, crew and fans,” per a release.

Stiller, a director and executive producer for the show, will join Scott, star and executive producer, in rewatching season one of the show and sharing “in-depth, never-before-heard analysis” before offering weekly insight as season two releases in early 2025.

“We have severed ourselves from the world for five years making this show,” Stiller and Scott said in a statement. “While we have no memory of what happened during that time, we thought we should do a podcast for all the Innies who will have no recollection of watching, in an attempt to reintegrate them with their memory of the show.”

The podcast will launch with two episodes focused on Season 1 of “Severance” on Jan. 7. Seven months after the show premiered, Deadline has learned that Macaulay Culkin, best known for starring in the first two Home Alone movies, has joined the cast of Fallout season 2. While the role of Burt isn’t something one would usually associate with Christopher Walken, who is notable for playing dangerous characters throughout his career, John Turturro felt he was the right man for the job.

Prime Video’s “Fallout” didn’t forget Macaulay Culkin. The “Home Alone” star has booked a recurring role in Season 2 of the Emmy-nominated drama, Variety has confirmed. There are no details yet to Culkin’s character on the series, but Deadline, which broke the news, wrote that it will be a “crazy genius type.”

Based on the video game franchise of the same name, the series is set two hundred years after the apocalypse. In 2022's The Batman, John Turturro played mob boss Carmine Falcone. The Penguin, an excellent new spinoff series airing on HBO, follows Carmine's enforcer Oz and his daughter Sofia; Carmine himself featured in a flashback-heavy episode the other week, but this time he was played by Mark Strong. Turturro opted not to return for the role, and now we know why.

Part of it was that old chestnut: scheduling issues. “You can’t do everything you want to,” Turturro told Variety. That's the reason The Penguin showrunner Lauren LeFranc gave when she was asked about Turturro's absence before the show had premiered. The hit psychological thriller series “Severance” will return for its highly anticipated second season on Apple TV+ starting January 17, 2025. The show will continue to release new episodes each Friday through March 21 for a total of ten episodes.

The drama centers around employees at Lumon Industries who undergo a procedure called “severance” that separates their work memories from personal lives. Season 2 will further explore the consequences of severing work and personal identities. According to officials, characters will face deeper challenges as the story intensifies.

Adam Scott returns as lead character Mark Scout, heading an ensemble cast. Patricia Arquette, Tramell Tillman, Zach Cherry, Britt Lower, John Turturro, and Christopher Walken also reprise roles. “Severance” Season 2 finally has teased more of what’s to come for the enslaved Lumon employees, led by Mark (Adam Scott). Along with Mark, coworkers Dylan (Zach Cherry), Helly (Britt Lower), and Irving (John Turturro) are all “learning the dire consequences of trifling with the severance barrier, leading them further down a path of woe,” according to the official synopsis.

Patricia Arquette, Tramell Tillman, Jen Tullock, Michael Chernus, Dichen Lachman, and Christopher Walken all also return, with Sarah Bock promoted to series regular.

Gwendoline Christie, Alia Shawkat, Bob Balaban, and more stars are joining the cast for Season 2, as announced in April 2022.

It’s been a minute, but “Severance” is almost back.

On Wednesday, Apple TV+ dropped the trailer for Season 2 of the Emmy-winning drama, which returns on Friday, Jan. 17, nearly three years after it premiered in February 2022. The trailer sees Mark (Adam Scott) frantically running through Lumon’s pristine white hallways intercut with quick snippets of Season 2 scenes. He eventually arrives at his old workspace, where a new group of people, including one played by Alia Shawkat, have replaced Helly (Britt Lower), Irving (John Turturro), and Dylan (Zach Cherry).

Apple TV+ unveiled a trailer for Severance season two on Wednesday, teasing Mark Scout’s (Adam Scott) race to uncover the truth about Lumon Industries.

Severance will premiere its 10-episode second season on the streamer on Jan. 17, 2025, followed by one episode every Friday through March 21.

In the trailer, Mark races up and down the barren hallways of the workplace thriller’s dystopian offices, as the rushed voices of season one’s epic finale play overhead. The return will mark two and a half years since the show first premiered in February 2022.

“In season two, Mark and his friends learn the dire consequences of trifling with the severance barrier, leading them further down a path of woe,” a press release reads.

In addition to Scott, the show also stars Britt Lower, Tramell Tillman, Zach Cherry, Jen Tullock, Michael Chernus, Dichen Lachman, John Turturro, Christopher Walken and Patricia Arquette.

Things are looking as nerve-wracking as ever for the Lumon employees in the first teaser for “Severance” Season 2.

The second season has been a long time coming and the teaser acknowledges that. It opens with Adam’s Scott’s Mark descending down the Lumon elevator and across the severance barrier. As he makes his way through the maze-like corridors of the office we hear a number of voiceovers.

“Everything they told you about severance is a lie.”

“We’re not happy. We’re miserable.”

“What is it we actually do here?”

Intercut into Mark running the halls are quick cuts of what’s to come in Season 2. Eventually he arrives in the green-carpeted work space he knows but is shocked to find his recognizable coworkers Helly (Britt Lower), Irving (John Turturro) and Dylan (Zach Cherry) have been replaced by a mysterious group of new people. One of them happens to be played by Alia Shawkat.

Back in July, Apple TV+ unveiled a teaser trailer for season 2 of their psychological thriller series Severance, which is set to drop its first episode on Friday, January 17, 2025. One episode will follow every Friday through March 21. And if that July teaser trailer didn’t provide enough of a tease for your liking, here’s some good news: a new teaser trailer has made its way online and can now be viewed in the embed above!

Severance is created and written by Dan Erickson, with Ben Stiller serving as director and executive producer. In a statement when season 2 first went into production, Stiller said, “We are thrilled and delighted to be back on set for the exciting second chapter of Severance. Though we don’t know how long we’ve been gone or who we are outside, we are told people enjoy the show and we couldn’t be happier. Praise Kier!

Following a dizzying Severance Season One finale, Apple TV+ released a Season Two teaser Wednesday for the workplace thriller. It begins with severed employee Mark, played by Adam Scott, stepping out of an elevator and sprinting aimlessly through the white, narrow hallways of Lumon Industries. Mark reaches a screeching halt, when he discovers his microdata refinement coworkers have been replaced by a new cohort of severed employees. Mr. Milchick, the floor supervisor played be Tramell Tillman, then enters with a handful of balloons.

Well, if you’re a fan of corporate overreach and feelings of impending doom, then life in 2024 is probably right up your alley.

And the first trailer for Severance Season 2 is keeping the creepy vibes going with more of the stark white hallways and fluorescent lighting that first gave us the heebie-jeebies back in 2022.

Yes, it’s been a long wait for more episodes — but few series reward patience as well as this one.
