An only child, Nisaro Karim was born in Birmingham, England. Nisaro is a British, Birmingham and London based multi award winning actor working in film and theatre. In 2019, he won Best Supporting Actor, Midlands Movies Awards for his performance as Simon in Sheikh Shahnawaz's 'Duality', a hard hitting film about domestic violence. In 2020 he won Best Supporting Actor, Flicks Film Festival for his role as Romeo in Paul Knight's Crime thriller '24 Hours in London'.
He has spent the last few years bringing life to a wide variety of challenging roles: Raja, the drug-addict antagonist in the feature film "Crushed Wings" by Cam Buddha Films; In "Marvin Bacon", he gave an emotional and harrowing performance as the leading character, a gay footballer struggling to come to terms with his sexuality, performed live on stage at The Birmingham Rep. Nisaro went on to play Dracula in Bram Stoker's play of the same name at The Blue Orange Theatre in Birmingham. The critics reported, "Karim's stellar performance, coupled with his brooding and magnetic stage presence as the Count leaves the audience terrified, mesmerised, and strangely aroused". In 2019 Nisaro established his own production company; Five Pence Productions. A busy year for him and his team as they released over 10 films, one of which, 'Jed' was nominated in the best local film category at The Birmingham Film Festival, 2019. Nisaro received high accolade for his characterisation of Jed, a troubled young man. A consultant psychiatrist with many years experience, expressed " Nisaro's portrayal of Jed, a man with Asperger's Syndrome was authentic with perfect nuances that were sensitive to the character giving a real understanding to this man and his condition. It brought tears to my eyes". Five Pence Productions are now working on their first feature film due for release in 2021.
As a well-travelled and educated individual, Nisaro entered the business world at an early age before studying Law as a mature student. Through life experience and emotional memory, he is able to bring strength and wisdom to his acting, qualities which build on his profound physical presence on screen. Having committed himself to full time acting with a passion, he has consciously developed his ability through multiple training courses. He is a multi-lingual, uniquely creative method actor with an array of performative skills and athletic abilities at his disposal and intends to continue driving his career forward by engaging, specifically, in more complex drama and masterful comedy, seeking opportunities to work with equally tenacious, daring artists.
