Jonathan Dorf

Jonathan Dorf grew up near Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, where he was valedictorian of his class at Marple Newtown Senior High before attending Harvard University and graduating magna cum laude with a degree in Dramatic Writing and Literature. He returned to Philadelphia after college and spent six years running the theatre program at The Haverford School. He subsequently moved to Los Angeles and received his MFA in Playwriting from UCLA. Understandably, he came to film from the world of theatre, where he is a playwright whose plays have been produced in all 50 US states and throughout Canada, as well as in Europe, Asia, Africa, Central America, Australia and New Zealand. He is particularly known for his work for teen performers, and more than three dozen of his scripts are published at YouthPLAYS, Playscripts, Brooklyn Publishers, Heuer and Original Works Publishing. He co-chairs the Alliance of Los Angeles Playwrights.
