Dermot Mulroney has joined the cast of the upcoming indie horror-thriller “Dead of Night.”
At the same time, it was announced that Scott Grimes, Julianne Arrieta and Kirrilee Berger have also signed on for the movie.
The film is directed by Derek Sulek and produced by Sulek, Oren Kamara and Dan Sheldon, with Jijo Reed serving as co-producer. Executive producers include Grimes, Ann Koch, Doug Johnson and Matthew Ballard. The script was penned by Eric Durham and Sulek, with production currently underway in Los Angeles under Fade to Black Films.
Per the logline, “after the mutilated body of a teenage girl is discovered in Elmwood Heights, the newly elected mayor (Alex Camacho) scrambles to create a neighborhood watch, desperate to calm the growing hysteria. Exclusive: Jodie Sweetin (Full House), Tilky Jones (The Guardian), George Wendt (Cheers) and Alexander James Rodriguez (Replica) will star in the romantic drama Love’s Second Act from director Sam Irvin, which is filming in Los Angeles this month.
The film follows Jamie Leoni (Sweetin), a struggling filmmaker in Hollywood, who is faced with an ultimatum when her producer tells her that her pitch has been sold, but she only has one week to deliver the script. Having practically grown up in her hometown movie theater, she hopes to find inspiration to write the screenplay there. But upon returning, she finds Nick (Jones), her old boyfriend who broke her heart, and now owns the theater. While Nick is dealing with trying to prevent his father from selling the theater, Jamie discovers she is falling for him all over again. But can she balance her new career opportunity with giving Nick a second chance?...
