Is Shane Dawson returning to YouTube? The 32-year-old content creator hinted at the possibility in his first Instagram post in six months. "Dads left the house," he wrote on June 9 alongside a photo of himself on vacation with Ryland Adams. "Ps. I know I haven't posted a video in a long time and I promise it's not because I don't want to. I'm just trying to stay in a good mindset and be happy. I promise I'm not going to abandon my channel after 15 years of creating. Just been re-evaluating my life the last year and figuring out what I want to do with it. Life is short and I'm grateful for every second of it. Hope you guys are doing well! I miss you! :,)" It's been...

Nearly eight months after his viral "Taking Accountability" video, controversial Internet personality Shane Dawson is getting some attention for something he's said. On Feb. 5, Dawson's fiancé Ryland Adams posted an "Extreme Hoarder Room Makeover!" video in which Dawson made an appearance. While out at a furniture store together, Dawson gushed over a life-size red horse statue. "I want him so much," he said. "Here's the thing—I know that I'm weird and I know that my career is over and I know that I'm just that crazy guy who buys weird toys." Dawson has kept a low profile in recent months, last posting to YouTube and Twitter on June 26, the...

In December, YouTube luminary Shane Dawson and his fiance Ryland Adams shared that they had moved into a new home by posting two house tours on Adams' channel.
Though the property appeared to be lavish -- complete with a farm and movie theater -- the move wasn’t without its difficulties, as the couple was forced to promptly evacuate upon moving in due to the California wildfires, which marked the deadliest and most destructive season on record.
Now, however, Dawson’s previous home has officially hit the market -- and The Los Angeles Times reports that the 30-year-old's Studio City property is priced at a cool $1.699 million. The Times describes features of the two-story “secluded estate” -- which was built in 1953 -- that may sound vaguely familiar to longtime Dawson viewers, including a long, gated driveway; a swimming pool and spa; and a Spanish-style design scheme with Saltillo decking. The...

After launching his channel roughly a decade ago, Shane Dawson remains one of the platform’s most influential creators today, with long-form programming that has served to re-imagine the bounds of what a YouTube video can be.
On Saturday, Dawson ticked off his latest accomplishment, surpassing 20 million subscribers -- a feat he celebrated with cake and diet rootbeer while slogging away at his next project, Conspiracy Series. “My heart is gonna burst,” he tweeted. “Thank you guys for supporting my channel for so long and for changing my life. Editing today is gonna be even more inspiring.” He also thanked his filmmaking partner Andrew Siwicki and his boyfriend Ryland Adams.

YouTube creator and commentator Matthew Patrick -- whose nerd-leaning Game Theorists channel counts 11.4 million subscribers -- was one of roughly 50 creators impacted by November’s Defy Media scandal, whereby the once-prominent multi-channel network and digital studio abruptly shuttered, leaving some 200 employees suddenly jobless.
Days later, it came to light that 50 channels signed to Defy's McN -- including Ryland Adams, Chad Wild Clay, Lisa Schwartz, and Whatever -- were also impacted by the shutdown. Their YouTube AdSense earnings for the month of September, which were set to be paid at the beginning of November, had been seized by the entity that subsequently took control of Defy’s assets..
And now, Patrick is putting a price tag on the amount that he claims was stolen from the 50 Defy creators: a whopping $1.7 million. Patrick also alleges, in a new sit-down confessional vlog, that a top Defy executive knew that the shutdown was imminent,...

YouTube megastar Shane Dawson said last night that he was thrown out of an event held in conjunction with Sundance Film Festival for holding hands with his boyfriend -- fellow YouTube host Ryland Adams.
In a series of now-deleted tweets, Dawson said that he was kicked out of an event dubbed Remind The Nation, according to The Daily Dot, which aims to share the stories of war veterans. It was hosted by the polarizing conservative TV personality Tomi Lahren. Dawson initially claimed that it was Lahren who'd had him booted from the event -- whereupon security tried to break his leg. In the now-deleted tweets, Dawson also claimed to have video footage of the incident, and said he’d reported it to police.
