Are you ready to delve back into the world of witches and mayhem? Agatha All Along is the most highly anticipated series of the year, but sadly, it’s not on Netflix. This is a Disney+ series.
What about shows on Netflix that have the same vibe? The great news is there are plenty to watch, and here are five to get you started.
Chilling Adventures Of Sabrina (L to R) Kiernan Shipka as Sabrina in episode, 216 of Chilling Adventures Of Sabrina. Cr. Netflix © 2020 Chilling Adventures of Sabrina
Let’s start with a Netflix Original that we would have loved to see more of. Chilling Adventures of Sabrina brought us a darker telling of the story compared to the Melissa Joan Hart comedy of the ‘90s. It felt more like a witchy tale, which is needed considering the topics.
We meet Sabrina, a witch who doesn’t really want to give up her mortal life.

Plot: 1908. Chief (Mario Van Peebles) returns from years of hiding in Mexico to claim stolen reparations gold hidden in the hills of Montana but is chased by Angel (William Mapother), whose rationale to the gold leaves a trail of dead bodies.
Review: Mario Van Peebles is in the enviable position of being a writer, director and actor who can make the kinds of movies he wants with the people he wants. He was able to gain recognition on his own merit, outside of his father’s work, as he appeared in films like Heartbreak Ridge with Clint Eastwood, Ali with Will Smith, as well as cult classics like Gunmen which co-stars Christopher Lambert. He would work with him again in Lambert’s franchise sequel, Highlander: The Final Dimension. Plus, Van Peebles would gain acclaim as a director with the films he’s pulled double duty on — such titles as New Jack City...

If Sergio Leone had ever signed on to make one of those ‘70s Blaxploitation oaters that once provided steady employment for Fred Williamson, it likely would have looked and sounded much like “Outlaw Posse,” a wildly uneven but cumulatively entertaining shoot-‘em-up that finds Mario Van Peebles doing triple duty as director, screenwriter and star. Quadruple duty, actually, if you count his credit as an executive producer.
“Outlaw Posse” has nothing to do with Van Peebles’ previous entry in this genre, 1993’s wild and woolly “Posse,” which suggests the multitasking filmmaker is tipping his Stetson to the multitude of ‘60s Spaghetti Westerns that, ahem, borrowed titles and eponymous characters from better known yet totally unrelated horse operas. But, then again, maybe not. Indeed, the film will probably be enjoyed most by folks not given to undue consideration of such trifling matters as lineage, logic and arrant anachronisms.

Mario Van Peebles made a big mark on cinema following in his father’s footsteps, Melvin Van Peebles, to be a unique, prominent voice for the African-American community in cinema. He would make many appearances as an actor, including working with fellow gunslinger Clint Eastwood on Heartbreak Ridge, as the sword-wielding Kane in Highlander: The Final Dimension, and taking on the monumental task of portraying Malcolm X in the Michael Mann film, Ali. However, in 1991, New Jack City, which co-stars Ice-t, would put Van Peebles on the map as a director, and he would parlay his run with movies like Panther and the 1993 western film, Posse, in which he also starred.
Peeble returns to the Western genre in a semi-sequel to his 1993 movie that also sports an ensemble of impressive names. Outlaw Posse has Van Peebles working both in front and behind the camera again, and would even have him...

Last month, we learned that Lionsgate is funding a horror film based on the novel Creepers (pick up a copy Here) by First Blood author David Morrell. At the time, it was said that Skylan Brooks (The Darkest Minds) would be one of the film’s cast members – but Deadline reports that Brooks is no longer involved with the project. Taking over the role he was going to play is Shane Paul McGhie, who is best known for playing the role of Landon in After and After We Collided. (McGhie then passed the role over to Chance Perdomo for After We Fell.)

Here are two questions I have never asked myself: (1) "Where is my wife?" (2) "Did my father have something to do with her disappearance?" When you are Emile Hirsch and your father is John Cusack, though, and you find yourself in a new trailer for a movie called Pursuit, those questions become entirely relevant. Jake Manley, Elizabeth Ludlow and William Katt also star; Brian Skiba directed. Per the official verbiage: "John Cusack (Grosse Pointe Blank) and Emile Hirsch (Into the Wild) star in this action thriller about a tough cop's hunt for an even tougher criminal. "Detective Breslin crosses paths with Calloway (Hirsch), a ruthless hacker desperate to find his wife, who has been kidnapped by a drug cartel. When Calloway escapes police custody,...

"Keep me alive and I will give you names." Lionsgate has revealed an official trailer for an action film titled Pursuit, a new film from genre filmmaker Brian Skiba. Another of these forgettable direct-to-video looking action movies? Unfortunately. John Cusack and Emile Hirsch star in this action thriller about a troubled cop's hunt for a ruthless hacker, who’s committing savage violence as he searches for his kidnapped wife. But is Calloway's crime-boss father somehow involved in this explosive situation? Starring Jake Manley, Elizabeth Ludlow, William Katt, Andrew Stevens, and Graham Patrick Martin. This guy isn't the best director, he often makes action schlock, but these movies still do look fun in a beer & pizza movie night kind of way. I am also amazed they still totally overdo the hacker character in movies like this. Check it out. Here's the official trailer (+ poster) for Brian Skiba's Pursuit, direct from Lionsgate's...

Taking cues from an aunt who brings a string of random guys to family holiday gatherings may not be wise. Yet, in the pleasantly diverting rom-com “Holidate” (streaming on Netflix), that’s exactly what Sloane (Emma Roberts) does, with a twist. After meeting prickly, she and handsome strange Jackson enter into a pact. They’d been standing in a returns line at a mall, one-upping each other about the miseries of being single during holidays. Just ahead of New Year’s Eve (surely among the more demanding of connection holidays), the two agree to be one another’s faux dates for the heavy-pressure night.
Briskly directed by John Whitesell, written by Tiffany Paulsen, “Holidate” won’t change your mind about the tread-worn challenges of romantic comedies, but its leads leverage their charms nicely. The film begins with Sloane arriving at her mother’s on Christmas. We get an eyeful of...

The characters trapped in John Whitesell’s “Holidate” may not know they’re in a romantic comedy, but they sure know the perimeters of one. Sloane (Emma Roberts) and Jackson (Luke Bracey) are barely into their first encounter before they start yammering about the usual cinematic expectations of the genre — including the exact ones that will unfold in the film to come — as well as the very same outdated “men are from Mars, women are from Venus” concepts that have bolstered such movies since film history invented them. But while plenty of rom-coms have tackled this tongue-in-cheek approach before, “Holidate” never attempts to subvert the very things it mocks, instead opting for
At least Roberts and Bracey make for a charming pair, and their chemistry continually bolsters a script that never defies expectations, even as it tries to skewer them with flat jokes and bizarre swings at raunchy punchlines. At...

"Maybe this holiday thing will turn into something." Netflix has debuted a trailer for a romantic comedy titled Holidate, yet another holiday love story to enjoy this holiday season. Sloane and Jackson hate being single on holidays where they face constant judgment from their meddling families. So, when these two meet, they pledge to be each other's "holidate" for every festive occasion in the year ahead. Emma Roberts and Luke Bracey star as Sloane and Jackson, joined by Andrew Bachelor, Jessica Capshaw, Manish Dayal, Alex Moffat, Jake Manley, Cynthy Wu, Frances Fisher, and Kristin Chenoweth. Is anyone still looking for a perfect holiday plus one? Netflix is also running a fun a "virtual speed dating event" with Holidate's Luke Bracey and Andrew Bachelor, along with some fan favorites from Netflix. Oh boy. I'm sure it'll surprise everyone that Sloane and Jackson end up together, despite their forced distance. How original.

A wannabe Bonnie and Clyde for the social-media age team up to find fame as travelling armed robbers in this patchy romp
The performances are a couple of drawers down from the top in this Nouveau Bonnie and Clyde romp; it features Bella Thorne – from the recent teen-abstinence weepie Midnight Sun – in glassy-eyed Insta princess mode. She’s playing Arielle, a bored pouty badass in Florida, longing to get away from all the local losers and find fame and fortune.
Arielle hooks up with smouldering hottie Dean (Jake Manley) who’s out on parole for armed robbery and together they take off across country on a crime spree, holding up gas stations – escapades that Arielle videos and posts online: she is electrified to see how she and Dean are blowing up on social media.

She’s playing Arielle, a bored pouty badass in Florida, longing to get away from all the local losers and find fame and fortune.

Netflix released season two of The Order on June 18, and, much like the first season, it is full of the ridiculous antics of Jack Morton (Jake Manley), the Knights of St. Christopher, and the Hermetic Order of the Blue Rose. However, even a season with a magic war, werewolves, and demons couldn't top the outlandish cameos of Beverly Hills, 90210's own Jason Priestley and Ian Ziering in episode eight. In the first season, one of the running jokes is just how many famous people, including Michelle Obama and Oprah Winfrey, are members of the Order, but we never thought we'd actually meet a few of them.
In the episode, the pair play fictionalized versions of themselves that don't exactly see eye-to-eye. In fact, Ian calls Jason "Mr. I'm-famous-in-Canada" after Jason comments that the other couldn't even save his career with magic - although six Sharknado movies say otherwise.

To celebrate the release of Infamous, the new thriller starring Bella Thorne and Jake Manley, we sat down with some of the cast and crew to chat about it.
Written and directed by Joshua Caldwell (Be Somebody), Infamous tells the story of a criminal couple from a small Florida town (Thorne and Manley), who after a series of armed robberies, become infamous social media stars. On the run from the authorities, they continue their notorious exploits across the Southland, increasing in both violence and disorder to pursue social media fame, no matter the cost.
Chatting to Manley, Caldwell, and cinematographer Eve Cohen, we chatted to them about the film’s riff on classics like Bonnie and Clyde, the dangers of social media, and whether the experience of the film has changed their opinions and approach to all things Insta-famous.

Exclusive: We can report that Joshua Caldwell, whose Bella Thorne crime feature Infamous debuted on VOD and drive-ins last weekend, has optioned Kyle Rutkin’s psychological thriller She Died Famous as his next feature directorial.
The Greater Path dark and twisted romance novel, which is akin to A Star Is Born crossed with Gone Girl, follows the death of iconic superstar, Kelly Trozzo, her suspected killer and the author she commissioned to pen her shocking Hollywood memoir.
Caldwell tells Deadline, “She Died Famous is a mind-bending trip into the world of tabloid, murder, and celebrity. Kyle Rutkin has crafted an innovative and thrilling whodunit that keeps you guessing until the very end. But more than that, it’s framed around a tragic and hedonistic love story that draws you in with its peak-behind-the-curtain look at young fame and loss of innocence. Taking the multi-format structure of the book and adapting...

Netflix has launched a new trailer for this weeks release of season 2 of the supernatural drama ‘The Order’.
Last year’s first season saw student Jack Morton (Jake Manley), on a mission to avenge the death of his mother, join the mysterious society and uncover a murky world of magic and monsters, as well as discovering some dark secrets about his own family.
In season 2, The Knights struggle to regain their memories stolen from them by The Order… and they crave retribution. But vengeance is hard to plan when you’re also fighting murderous magicians, strange new cults, and life-threatening demons. Does anyone even go to class anymore?

The news that The Order season 2 was assured on Netflix was almost certainly welcome for those viewers who were wondering what would happen to the Knights of St. Christopher werewolves after the events of the season finale. Fortunately, the show returns this summer, and lead actors Sarah Grey and Jake Manley are on board for the new season.
The Order may have snuck under people’s radar, but enough people tuned in to the series about a secret magical society hidden on a college campus for Netflix to keep the story going. The show comes from co-creators Dennis Heaton (Ghost Wars) and Shelley Eriksen (Continuum) and Nomadic Pictures, which also produces the hit vampire series Van Helsing for Syfy. Adding the element of justice-seeking werewolves to an otherwise familiar formula of hidden magic-users must have been just what viewers were looking for.
