Juliana Betancourth is a bi-lingual Colombian born actress - director, and a "Best Actress" Macondo award nominee (the Colombian equivalent of the Oscars) for her lead role in the feature film "Virginia Casta". She has also won awards at the Culver City Film Festival and the Panamanian International Film Festival for the short films "Bite!", and "Therapy".
She premiered the short film "Marble Worms" (her fictional directorial debut) at Hola Mexico Film Festival in LA, what gave her a direct pass to be part of the fellowship program Tomorrow's Filmmakers Today.
While participating as and actress in the off-Broadway theater production, "Citizens of the Gray", with a successful run in NYC, she was confronted with a theatre colleague's traumatic experience, turning her attention to documentary filmmaking and its therapeutical practices, "Break a Leg" thus becoming her first feature documentary as director - producer, currently in post-production.
Juliana is the Founder of the film production company FRACTORY, currently developing the feature films "C-Link" and "Ceremony".
She was invited to be a guest panelist at the Baja International Film Festival two consecutive years, and received a Special Recognition Award. She was also invited to be on the special guest judge on the Short & Sweet Hollywood Theater Festival.
