The latest Blumhouse film, "Unseen," has a new trailer that just dropped, and it looks like a totally unique offering from the popular horror studio. While Blumhouse is best known for its scary good track record, which includes "Insidious," "The Invisible Man," and "Paranormal Activity," the production company's latest (which also comes via MGM+ and Paramount) is actually a thriller-comedy with a wild high-concept premise.

"Unseen" stars "WandaVision" and "Orange is the New Black" actress Jolene Purdy as Sam, a gas station clerk at a dead-end job at a place called Gator Galore, where her boss seems to be a bullying redneck and she's clearly not having a great time. Enter: Emily ("Dash & Lily" star Midori Francis), a woman who ends up needing Sam's help in a major — and majorly unexpected — way. About two years ago, it was announced that Blumhouse would be developing and producing eight standalone horror/thriller movies for the premium network Epix. Epix has since been rebranded as MGM+, but the deal with Blumhouse is still in place – as Coming Soon has confirmed by unveiling the poster for the next Blumhouse and MGM+ collaboration, the thriller Unseen! You can check out the poster at the bottom of this article. Coming Soon also got the first look at a batch of images from the film, and you can see those by clicking over to their site.

Paramount Home Entertainment will be giving Unseen a digital and VOD release on March 7th, and then the movie will begin streaming on MGM+ in May.

Exclusive: Unseen is the next project from Epix’s and Blumhouse’s eight TV movie deal and will star Jolene Purdy (The White Lotus) and Midori Francis (The Sex Lives of College Girls). The thriller will mark Yoko Okumura’s feature directing debut.

Unseen is written by Salvatore Cardoni and Brian Rawlins. The logline: Two women form an unlikely connection when a depressed gas station clerk Sam (Purdy), receives a call from Emily (Francis), a nearly blind woman who is running from her murderous ex in the woods. Emily must survive the ordeal with Sam being her eyes from afar using video call. Michael Patrick Lane (Dynasty) will play the ex.

Executive producers are Jason Blum, Chris McCumber and Jeremy Gold for Blumhouse Television, and Alexander Kruener.

Purdy’s additional television credits include WandaVision, The Magicians, and Orange is the New Black. She is repped by A3 Artists Agency and Bmk-ent.

Exclusive: Eric Roberts and newcomer Jequan Jackson will star in foster care drama No More Goodbyes, directed by James Ganiere and written by Rebekah Ganiere.

The pic follows sixteen-year-old Mark (Jackson) who, after his foster mother dies, goes on the run with his foster brother Tristan (played by Christian Ganiere), a young boy with Autism and Ptsd in order for them to stay together and not become separated by the system. However, Mark finds out that keeping him and his brother together is going to be harder than it looks. They must rely on each other and a gruff stranger, a retired military veteran named Stan, seeking his own redemption, in an effort to keep their family from being torn apart and the truth from being discovered.

Tom Nowicki, Miriam A. Hyman, Sal Velez Jr, Michael Patrick Lane (Tully) Petri Byrd (Judge Judy), Stacy Haiduk Ethan McDowell, Zuri Starks (Valley of the Zombies), Sunday Curry (The Price of Fame) and Starletta DuPois round out the cast.

The film aims to explore foster care in the United States, where a child is entered into the system every two minutes. Of the children that reach the age of eighteen and age out of the system without being adopted, half of them will end up in prison within two years, one in five will become homeless, and only 3 percent of those children will go on to earn a college degree.

The Ganieres are producing the pic via their Rio Vista Universal label with a plan to put it through the festival circuit.
