The novel Set in the Florida Keys, ‘Bad Monkey’ is based on a novel by America's finest satirical novelist, Carl Hiaasen, who made sure to target everything from environmental destruction to political corruption in this 400 page novel. The first episode seems to be following not only the plot line but also patterns from the book. Much like the novel, the series uses dark humor and absurd situations to critique numerous aspects of society. I have always said that Apple TV+ is tiny, but mighty when it comes to its programming. Even though it doesn’t have a menu of show (or movie) options as large as other streamers, such as Netflix or Hulu, it’s quality over quantity for us here at Show Snob. That said, Apple TV+ is not a service you want to sleep on.

Everyone knows Apple TV+ for Ted Lasso, The Morning Show, and Severance. There have been a few other popular TV shows sprinkled in over the last few years. And, let me be clear. I am a fan of Apple TV+. I appreciate how many TV shows with huge stars the streamer is cranking out these days, but it’s just so odd that almost no one is talking about these great shows!

Vince Vaughn first met Bill Lawrence more than 25 years ago, so when cop comedy “Bad Monkey” came around, the actor jumped at the opportunity to finally work together.

“We just laughed a lot,” Vaughn told Variety at the Apple TV+ show’s premiere on Monday night. About collaborating with the “Spin City” and “Ted Lasso” hitmaker, Vaughn added: “He’s got such good ideas. He welcomes ideas. It was easy.”

It’s hardly a surprise things worked out so well, since Lawrence has made a bit of a habit of working with friends and family. At this stage in his career, “it’s just so fun to work with the people you want to spend time with,” he said, as his daughter, singer-songwriter Charlotte Lawrence, walked past him on the sand-colored carpet outside the Hammer Museum in Westwood.

Lawrence was initially apprehensive about casting her in the show, though he knew she had the chops.

Vince Vaughn is back on the red carpet!

The 54-year-old actor was joined by wife Kyla Weber at the premiere of his new Apple TV+ series Bad Monkey on Monday (August 12) held at the Billy Wilder Theater at The Hammer Museum in Los Angeles.

Contrary to the show and novel’s name, the eponymous monkey is not, in fact, bad. Played by veteran animal thespian Crystal — you know her from Community, The Fabelmans and more — she is, in fact, quite good, reliable for reactive cutaways or wild, furry hijinks. She (actually, Crystal is playing a character who seems to identify as male, but we are not going down the path of monkey pronouns here) doesn’t always feel particularly connected to the plot of Bad Monkey, but it’s charming and fun just to have her around.

Bill Lawrence and Jason Segel’s Shrinking returns for season 2 on Apple TV in October, and here are the details.

According to Deadline, Apple has confirmed that the Shrinking season 2 will begin on the 15th October.

Bill Lawrence is probably best known for creating Scrubs, the wonderful hospital sitcom which ran for nine seasons from 2002 to 2009. It showcased Lawrence’s skill in weaving incredible pathos through a show crammed with jokes – My Lunch from season 5 may just be one of the best examples of this in any sitcom – and he has only gone from strength to strengh.

After six seasons of Cougar Town starring Courtney Cox, he co-created Ted Lasso with Jason Sudeikis and Brendan Hunt, which soon became a global phenomenon due to its mix of hope, kindness and uncynical humour.

Hayao Miyazaki’s most recent “last” film “The Boy and the Heron” is taking flight.

The Oscar and Golden Globe-winning animated film from famed studio Studio Ghibli will make its United States streaming debut exclusively on Max on Friday, Sept. 6.

When a privileged tourist hooks a human arm on a fishing trip, Yancy is drawn into a murder mystery whose resolution he thinks might earn back his badge.

Filling out the comically large ensemble of oddball characters related to the case are L. Scott Caldwell, Rob Delaney, Meredith Hagner, Natalie Martinez, Alex Moffat , Michelle Monaghan, Ronald Peet and a capuchin playing the titular primate.

Vince Vaughn is getting down and dirty in the Florida Keys as a detective in the Apple TV+ dramedy series “Bad Monkey.” The actor stars in and executive produces the adaptation of Carl Hiaasen’s bestselling novel. Bill Lawrence also executive produces and serves as showrunner, adding to his Apple TV+ portfolio.

Apple TV+ is ready to let Bad Monkey out of its cage.

Three years after the Vince Vaughn vehicle was handed a series order, Bad Monkey will see the light of day when its first two episodes arrive on Aug. 14. New episodes will then follow every Wednesday, through Oct. 9.

Netflix dropped the teaser for “I-Land,” its upcoming “mind-bending limited series event” starring Natalie Martinez and Kate Bosworth on Tuesday, showing us what the I-Land is all about. And guys, this sci-fi show appears to be what would happen if you combined Fyre Festival, the plot of “Lost” and a slasher movie.

The video, which you can view above, starts off as pretty much a shot-for-shot remake of the infamous promo for the fraudulent “luxury music festival” founded by Billy McFarland and Ja Rule, with bikini-clad women prancing around the I-Land as title cards flash across the screen that read, “An immersive experience so exclusive, captivating and breathtaking… once you arrive, you’ll never leave.” And then all hell breaks loose.
