Shahram Alidi

Shahram Alidi was born and raised in Sandadaj, Kurdestan, Iran. His early life was gravely influenced by art and beauty of nature. His first artistic experiment was playing at Theater of elementary school that was preceded by some terrific memories of watching movies at a nearby Cinema, very close to his father's little sewing shop; at early high school years, he began to develop a passion towards painting which soon thoroughly overwhelmed him. He won three National Painting Competition successively in 1991, 1992 and 1993. Having been bewitched by art, he finally took a lifelong commitment and formally decided to devote his life and future to studying and practicing art; so he got his BA degree in Painting from Beaux Arts Faculty of Tehran University in 1997 and later on his MA degree in Animation Directing from Cinema & Theater Faculty of Art University in 2004. From 1994 to 1997 he had been thoroughly preoccupied by designing and illustration of children's books, graphics and interior designing of theaters and scenes. However little by little he moved from Painting towards Cinema and movie making and finally surrendered to his irresistible impelling urge to blend painting, poetry and cinema together.
