Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez are among nominees at upcoming 2010 Bet Awards, which will be held on June 27 at Los Angeles' Shrine Auditorium. Bieber landed in Best New Artist category, while Gomez was nominated for Young Stars Award.

In Best New Artist category, Bieber will go head-to-head with Melanie Fiona, Nicki Minaj, Wale and Young Money. "Bieber has crossed the color boundaries the same way that hip-hop has crossed the boundaries the other way for a number of years," Stephen Hill, Bet's President of Music Programing and Specials said.

Meanwhile, Gomez will compete against Lil Jj, Keke Palmer, Willow Smith and Tyler James Williams in taking home Young Stars Award.

Additionally, Bet nominations, which was announced on Tuesday, May 18, were led by rapper Jay-z, who received five nods, including Best Male Hip-Hop Artist, Best Collaboration for "Empire State of Mind" and Video of the Year for "Empire State of Mind...

The nominations list of this year's Bet Awards has been announced with Jay-z scoring the most nods with five nominations. Following his domination are his singer wife Beyonce Knowles as well as fellow performers such as Alicia Keys, Trey Songz and Melanie Fiona with four gongs each.

Out of the five nods, Jay-z faces off Beyonce in four fields, Best Collaboration, Viewer's Choice and Video of the Year. In the latest category, he gets double nominations; one for "Empire State of Mind" which features Alicia and the other for "Run This Town" which features Rihanna and Kanye West. He competes against Beyonce's "Video Phone" which features Lady GaGa, B.o.B's "Nothin on You" which features Bruno Mars and Melanie's "It Kills Me".

After performing at the World Series, headlining a 9/11 benefit concert at Madison Square Garden and being named MTV News' Hottest Mc in the Game, it's no surprise that Jay-z received the most nominations for the upcoming 2010 Bet Awards.

The Brooklyn Mc scored nods in the Best Male Hip-Hop Artist, Best Collaboration ("Empire State of Mind"), Video of the Year ("Empire State of Mind" and "Run this Town") and Viewer's Choice categories to lead the way with five nominations, it was announced Tuesday (May 18).

Teen heart throb Justin Bieber picked up a surprise nomination for Best New Artist, his only recognition. "That was not a joke," Bet executive Stephen Hill said, laughing in response to the singer's nod.

Six  was the magic number for NAACP Image Awards nominations announced Wednesday (Jan. 6).

ABC's "Grey's Anatomy," the film "Precious: Based on the Novel 'Push' by Sapphire" and the TNT's telepic "Gifted Hands: The Ben Carson Story" led with six nominations apiece.

In music, however, Jay-z and Maxwell led the way with five nods each.

The nominations were announced at a press conference that featured Tay Diggs, comedian Wanda Sykes, "Brothers Star" Michael Strahan, Tatyana Ali and Kyle and Chris Massey.

The 41st NAACP Image Awards will air live beginning at 8 p.m. Et on Friday, Feb. 26 on Fox.

"Precious" leads the nominations for the 41st annual NAACP Image Awards earning eight noms including Best Director for Lee Daniels, Best Actress for Gabourey Sidibe, Supporting Actress for Mariah Carey, Monique, and Paula Patton, and Best Supporting Actor for Lenny Kravitz.

"Precious" also got nods for Outstanding Motion Picture and Outstanding Independent Film. Other films nominated were "Invictus," "Michael Jackson's This Is It," "The Blind Side," and "The Princess and the Frog."

Winners will be announced Feb. 26 on Fox.
