- Rebecca Norris is a screenwriter, filmmaker, and actor. Originally from Chicago, she relocated to LA and worked in development, casting, and production before becoming a full-time writer. Her feature film, Cloudy With a Chance of Sunshine (2016), which she co-wrote and co-produced, won a Best Feature award at the Manhattan Film Festival and enjoyed a successful festival run nationwide, picking up further Best Film and Best Screenplay nominations. The film is distributed by House Lights Media and is available on Prime and DVD.
Rebecca's short film, On Becoming a Man (2012), garnered several awards, including Best Comedy Short at the IFS Film Festival in Los Angeles. The film was acquired by Shorts International and is streaming worldwide. Her short film, Doodles, was also acquired by Shorts International and is running on the ShortsTV Network on DirecTV and other platforms. Her web series, Split (2013-2014), won 2 Outstanding Achievement Awards at LA WebFest (including Best Supporting Actress for her performance), was nominated for an Indie Series Award, and was voted one of WebVee Guide's Favorite Web Series. Her short, Toasted (2011), won the Audience Choice Award at the Canadian Film Centre's ShortsNonStop Festival in Toronto.
Rebecca is also a long-time columnist for Script Magazine, covering the worlds of indie film and web series in her columns True Indie and Writers on the Web, and has also blogged for Screencraft, WeScreenplay, and The Script Lab.
