Paramount+ is breaking up with two recent additions to its roster by canceling the Kiefer Sutherland spy drama Rabbit Hole and Fatal Attraction, starring Joshua Jackson and Lizzy Caplan. Paramount+ is in slash-and-burn mode, with the company removing titles as a cost-cutting measure.
“We want to thank both series’ entire creative teams, crews and the fantastic casts for their dedication to bringing these series to life,” said the Paramount+ spokesperson. “Both Fatal Attraction and Rabbit Hole will continue to be available on Paramount+ for audiences to discover.”
Rabbit Hole and Fatal Attraction join Paramount‘s other canceled series, including Real World: Homecoming, The Twilight Zone, Interrogation, Coyote, No Activity, Guilty Party, and The Harper House. More cancelations hit the streaming service in June, with Star Trek: Prodigy, Grease: Rise of the Pink Ladies, Queen of the Universe, and The Game going the way of the dodo. Few women in cinematic history have been vilified so much as Alex Forrest. Played by Glenn Close, this wild and seductive career woman terrorizes her married lover, Dan Gallagher (Michael Douglas), after a weekend fling in the mother of all erotic thrillers "Fatal Attraction." The original Alex is the epitome of a femme fatale and embodies the saying, "hell hath no fury like a woman scorned." Released in 1987, Adrian Lyne's film has been reevaluated through the lens of modern sexual politics, with a much more sympathetic reappraisal of Alex's character and a refusal to see Dan as the story's hapless victim. A reboot from creators Kevin J. Hynes and Alexandra Cunningham attempts to reckon with this complicated legacy in an eight-part series starring Lizzy Caplan and Joshua Jackson as the toxic lovers.

The official trailer for Paramount+’s Fatal Attraction (the series inspired by the film) begins with the man at the heart of the love triangle attending a parole hearing after serving time for second-degree murder. He addresses a panel of judges and explains he’s been fixated on discovering why he did what he did and why Alexandra Forrest died.

The “Mean Girls” and “Party Down” alum is dismantling the facade of suburban marital bliss one TV series at a time, starting with Hulu’s dark satire “Fleishman Is in Trouble” and culminating in the highly anticipated Paramount+ reboot of “Fatal Attraction.”
Caplan stars as Alex, a career-focused woman who begins an affair with married businessman Dan, played by Joshua Jackson. Alex’s mental state slowly unravels as she claws her way deeper into Dan’s life. Glenn Close and Michael Douglas originally starred in the 1987 film, helmed by Adrian Lyne.
However, the Paramount+ series led by showrunner, writer, and executive producer Alexandra Cunningham (“Dirty John”) will have a different take on the psychosexual affair.

Adrien Lyne's classic erotic thriller, "Fatal Attraction," is the latest gem from cinema's glory days to be dusted off and receive the TV remake treatment. What makes this streaming remake of "Fatal Attraction" from Paramount+ rather interesting is the cast list it has assembled, which includes Lizzy Caplan, Joshua Jackson, and Amanda Peet.
In "Castle Rock" season 2, Caplan did the unthinkable and managed to fill Kathy Bates' Oscar-winning shoes as Annie Wilkes, the obsessed "number one fan" and villain of Stephen King's "Misery." Now, Caplan has set her sights on Alex Forrest, the obsessed stalker and antagonist first played by the inimitable Glenn Close in "Fatal Attraction."
Here's everything we know about the upcoming "Fatal Attraction" series so far.
When And Where Can I See Fatal Attraction?
