Bad Sisters season 3 gets a doubtful response from star and co-creator Sharon Horgan. Developed by Horgan, Dave Finkel, and Brett Baer, the story takes place in Dublin. It focuses on Eva Garvey (Horgan) and her sisters as they find themselves right in the middle of a life insurance investigation following the mysterious death of her brother-in-law. Bad Sisters season 2 recently wrapped up its run on Apple TV+, showcasing what happens when the Garvey sisters get caught up in another dangerous situation.

In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter following the season 2 finale, along with executive producer Dearbhla Walsh, Horgan addressed the possibility of returning for another installment of the acclaimed Apple TV+ comedy. Horgan mentioned anthology dramas, such as HBO's The White Lotus and Netflix's Beef, but doubted that the Garveys could convincingly find themselves in another dangerous situation. Walsh agreed, joking about how many more people the main characters could kill.

Though the story of the Bad Sisters on Apple TV+ may be over following the Season 2 finale on Christmas Day, creator Sharon Horgan is already working on another project.

During an interview for Bustle’s “One Nightstand,” Horgan revealed her hopes to bring an adaptation of Vladimir by Julia May Jonas to the screen. Jonas sought out Horgan.

Bad Sisters creator Sharon Horgan had what she calls “a germ of an idea” for the second season of the Apple+ series while in the midst of shooting season one.

That idea, as the final episodes of the second season reveal, revolved around Ian Reilly (Owen McDonnell), Grace’s ex-husband, and the idea that while Grace (Anne-Marie Duff) got some happiness after killing her cruel first husband, she couldn’t escape her own tragic cycle.

“Basically, I had that when I was on set for the first season, the sort of lightning striking twice idea and how vulnerable women like that who have been through an abusive relationship, don’t necessarily walk into a healthy one. They’re kind of open and vulnerable to people taking advantage,” Horgan tells The Hollywood Reporter.

But of those many shows that should have left well enough alone, a rare few manage to pull off that second installment (if not more beyond that) with — if not resounding success, then aplomb. “Bad Sisters” didn’t need a second season, but Horgan and her team execute the near-impossible task of picking up, building out, and smartly continuing the story, even if Season 1 remains superior.

In an interview with Screen Rant's Tatiana Hullender, Horgan spoke of the shift that Bad Sisters went through after initially being conceived as a limited series. It unfolds in Dublin, focusing on Eva Garvey (Horgan) and her sisters as they find themselves right in the middle of a life insurance investigation following the mysterious death of her brother-in-law. It is Grace (Annie-Marie Duff), though, who ultimately killed her abusive husband.

In the trailer released Tuesday, the women are first seen atop a cliff and opening the trunk of a car as showrunner and star Sharon Horgan’s Eva assures them that everything’s going to be Ok.
