Heinz Berggruen was born on 5 January 1914 in Wilmersdorf, Berlin, Germany. He was married to Bettina Moissi and Lillian Zellerbach. He died on 23 February 2007 in Neuilly-sur-Seine, Hauts-de-Seine, France.
