Paul Thomas Anderson’s legion of fans will get their chance to see the filmmaker’s latest Inherent Vice – at least those in New York and L.A. after a long build-up of anticipation. Studio Warner Bros. is handling the director’s latest, set in a drug-laced L.A. in the 1970s. Barring some unforeseen cataclysm, the feature is easily going to be this week’s b.o. superstar and likely one of the year’s biggest per screen debuts. How it will fare against other fall b.o. knock-outs like Searchlight’s Birdman or TWC’s The Imitation Game remains to be seen. A slew of Specialty openers will coincide with the Inherent Vice juggernaut. A24 will open Oscar-nominated filmmaker Atom Egoyan’s The Captive day and date after an early fall bow in the director’s native Canada. Sundance Selects will expose Free The Nipple in New York...

Bill Condon: ‘Breaking Dawn’ director’s cut exists, but not part of ‘Twilight Saga’ box set (photo: Bill Condon directing Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson in ‘Breaking Dawn’) While plugging his upcoming Wikileaks movie The Fifth Estate at the 2013 Toronto Film Festival, Bill Condon spoke with Collider.com‘s Steve Weintraub about his own private version of the two Twilight Saga movies he directed — Breaking Dawn - Part 1 and Breaking Dawn - Part 2. In Condon’s "director’s cut," the two movies based on Stephenie Meyer’s final Twilight novel are rolled into one. In answer to a question about his contributions to the Twilight Saga box set to come out in fall 2013, Bill Condon explained that although there shouldn’t be any additional Breaking Dawn - Part 2 scenes, "I do have a kind of version of those two [Breaking Dawn] movies cut into one movie that is not going to...

A new sneak peek at Target's The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 2 special features exclusive has been revealed, showing a bit of how the new vampires' powers came to be on-screen. In the new video, the talents of Kate (Casey Labow) and Zafrina (Judi Shekoni) are showcased, with Labow revealing her method for portraying the power - namely, light devices place inside her palms - and Shekoni working on the green screen which creates her visual takeover mechanism. Director Bill Condon explains, "the big challenge was making sure, having established the powers that we did, that we use them. You know, so Zafrina can make you see anything she wants to, so that became in the battle she blinds you." That, of course, took place when Tanya (MyAnna Buring) needed to ca ....

As time goes on and people who are more experienced with such things come in contact with her, they realize she is what the vampire community calls a shield. Anyone who affects your brain, she is immune," Stephenie Meyer explains in the clip. A few...

That's a dramatized estimation of what's probably going on right now in Cam Gigandet (Twilight's nomadic bad-boy vampire James)'s life. Per TMZ, Gigandet's now being sued in Los Angeles court for his part in a traffic accident during which he allegedly ran into the back of a woman's car. The plaintiff reportedly claims to have suffered "great physical, mental, and nervous pain, suffering, and anguish" and seeks damages for the vehicle, her healthcare and lost wages. Evidently, the accident took place almost a year ago - on Jan. 28, 2012 - so it's unclear why the suit is being brought at this time. A celebrity being sued? How new. Gigandet, who announced in July that he and girlfriend Dominique Geisendorff were expecting baby number two, recently worked on Twilight director Catherine Hardwicke's latest project Plush, featuring fellow Saga alums Xavier Samuel (Riley Biers in The Twilight Saga: Eclipse) and Casey Labow...

When reviewing The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 2 do I look at it in comparison to the four films that preceded it? Do I look at it as a standalone effort even though it is still clearly only half a story, which began with Part 1 an entire year earlier? The box-office and marketing phenomenon that started in 2008 has come to an end and, for once, there is actually something to talk about even if we're talking about a franchise that dug a hole so deep it could never hope to dig itself out. It took three-and-a-half films for the vampire Edward (Robert Pattinson) and human Bella (Kristen Stewart) to consummate their relationship, an act that resulted in Renesmee (Mackenzie Foy), a half-vampire, half-human baby that nearly killed Bella. Consequently, at the conclusion of Part 1 all the angst and longing stares resulted in a baby being born and Bella being turned into a vampire.

This week, we'll be giving a big farewell to "The Twilight Saga" with the release of "The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 2" on Friday.
Judging by the clips and trailers we've seen so far, we can expect to see some serious vampire Bella (Kristen Stewart) action and get to catch up with the one and only Cullen coven. But, with a ton of other bloodlovers coming into the fold for the final film, Twi-hards should probably also brace for some new faces.
To help remind you who's who among the new coven vampires in "Breaking Dawn - Part 2," we put together this handy dandy little refresher guide.

Sure, the Denalis were introduced as wedding guests in "The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 1," but these Alaskan vegetarian vamps have a much bigger stand in "Part 2." They're super-tight with the Cullens — even considering themselves faux cousins...

We’re still a couple weeks behind on Summit Entertainment’s “New Face Fridays” with the Twilight Fansites, so bear with us as we catch you up! First we had the chance to hear from Denali Coven members Casey Labow and MyAnna Buring, then Amazon Coven members Judi Shekoni and Tracey Heggins, Egyptian Coven members Rami Malek and Angela Sarayan, Irish vampires Patrick Brennan and Marlane Barnes and Romanian Coven Vampires Noel Fisher and Guri Weinberg. Now we’ve got our very first Nomad Vampire with Joe Anderson. Read more below:
How much did you know about Twilight before you auditioned or before you got the part?
Joe Anderson: I wasn’t living on Mars so I knew a lot about it. Friends of the family as well were a little younger than I am, young girls, and they were huge, huge fans so when they found out that I was going to have something to do with it, my street cred went through the roof. So there was a gathering and watching of films together and getting excited about it. I’d seen all of them (the movies) I think by the time I was shooting in Canada.
Does that mean you haven’t read any of them?
Joe: No, you know interestingly enough, no, I did pick around the books. The interesting thing with Alistair is that the way he is used in the film versus the books is slightly different. For me it was more about taking this rather aloof character and developing him. And as an outsider, you know I wasn’t part of the previous movies, so I sort of felt like I had a bit of room to kind of play with this guy because none of the other characters quite knew what to expect and what have you. So it was quite freeing – quite fun to sort of go in there and really sort of invent something.
He’s (Alistair) a loner. Except for his history with Carlisle, you almost wonder why he decided to come and join up with the Cullen’s. He’s leaving pretty early on. Did you have an idea or did you talk to Stephenie about what his motivations were?
Joe: Yeah. It’s a really interesting question. I think, obviously without giving too much away, that the notion of just a general sort of right and wrong. One of things that serves Alistair is that he’s a tracker – his senses were quite strong. I think the reason for what he does is more to do with morality and right and wrong, and I think that he just doesn’t feel he is necessary because whatever will happen will happen. But I think it will explain itself, without giving anything away, more clearly in the film.

First we had the chance to hear from Denali Coven members Casey Labow and MyAnna Buring, then Amazon Coven members Judi Shekoni and Tracey Heggins, Egyptian Coven members Rami Malek and Angela Sarayan, Irish vampires Patrick Brennan and Marlane Barnes. Last time we had our first Romanian vampire, Noel Fisher and now we have the other Romanian, Stefan, as played by Guri Weinberg. Read more below:
Did you do a lot of that character building before hand with Noel Fisher or did you build on your own and tell him “Hey this is what I came up with?”
Guri: I don’t want to speak for Noel, but I will speak for myself, I did it by myself at first. Noel and I met briefly in wardrobe fitting in La, and then in October we had to go to Baton Rogue to camera, lighting tests, makeup tests, you know with Bill Condon, with everyone else. And so what happened was we had a meeting regarding our character. He wanted to hear what our ideas were and he wanted to let us know what his ideas were. And out of that meeting, really all three of us talked about what we wanted. We flushed it out and that’s how we came to be on the same page.
We saw a still with you guys sitting around the campfire and it looks like they are looking at you and Noel as Vladimir, will we get to see some of that backstory looked upon? Like his war story that he’s talking about at the campfire?
Guri: I don’t know how much I am allowed to reveal, but I’m just gonna put it more on the wide scope where we all talked about our experiences. You are not going to be able to pull it out of me.
How much did you have to give Mackenzie in the swear jar. You are the one that kinda started it with her. How much did you have to give her?
Guri: Well I was lucky enough in the spirit that I didn’t have as much money as Rob and Kristen did, so she let me get away with it. But I was the one that told her to start a swear jar cause I felt that I was not a big help. She’s like a ninja, the way she comes up you don’t hear her. So at first you think it’s just us adults and then Mackenzie is there looking at you with that really disappointed look.
Did you get a chance to talk to Stephenie Meyer about the history or the background of your character at all?
Guri: Stephenie and I never talked about that. Stephenie and I when we were hanging out and talking, we talked and joked about everything else. The cool thing about Stephenie is that she trusted the actors and Bill Condon to do our jobs. And our jobs as professionals is to come up with the characters, understand she wrote and bring it to life.

Summit Entertainment’s “New Face Fridays” with the Twilight Fansites was back again this week last week, and this time we get the first member of the Romanian Coven. Now we have Romanian vampire, Noel Fisher who plays Vladimir:
If you could create your own fan site, what would it be about? What are you really passionate about?
Oh, man, there’s a lot of stuff. I’m kind of all over the place with it. It depends on what I am currently obsessed with. Like right now I am really obsessed with a Showtime series called Homeland that I’m just totally falling for. Game of Thrones, The Walking Dead. Anything that’s fantasy is right up my alley. So anything involving that stuff would be pretty sweet. Breaking Bad is not exactly fantasy, but is another one that I’m pretty into.
Could you share some of your jokes, pranks or experiences with you and Guri [Weinberg] on the set?
The story that comes to mind a lot of the time for me, I was doing a scene where I had to — well, it’s not so much a prank because it wasn’t done on purpose, but I had a scene where I had to kind of squat down for a moment and it was right at the end of the day, and it was literally the last shot of the day and we were trying to wrap and everything. I remember they called, “Rolling!” and then, “Action!” and we started doing our stuff, and I do a squat and I just heard this big rip. I had basically ripped the back of my pants completely open, so everybody got a nice shot of my underwear. So I had to go over to the wardrobe lady and she literally sewed it back up while I was still wearing the pants in between takes. I had to run back out and get it one more time, and it ripped again. That was a good moment!
Did you and Guri try to work together to come up with the Romanian accent, or how did you guys work to make a cohesive Romanian coven?
We both sat down with Bill. That was something — I was just constantly impressed with Bill Condon because he sat down with all of the new covens and new vampires, including the Romanians, and he basically just sat us down and asked us what were we thinking? What were our thoughts on the characters? It was obviously something that we both wanted was to be able to do the accent and to do that in a way that was going to be really interesting and kind of unique. He was totally down for that and we got this dialect coach and came up with this — not a modern Romanian accent because they are so old, it had to be like an amalgamation of ancient Romanion and a lot of influence from the surrounding areas around Romania because they’d been around for so long and you add all of that into it. So we just created our own unique dialect. That was one of the really cool parts about doing the character, something that really helped me fall into the character, getting to put on that accent. I’m really glad that we got to do that.

Summit Entertainment’s “New Face Fridays” with the Twilight Fansites was back again this week last week (we’re late!), and this time we’ve got another member of the Irish Coven. First we had the chance to hear from Denali Coven members Casey Labow and MyAnna Buring, then Amazon Coven members Judi Shekoni and Tracey Heggins, and then Egyptian Coven members Rami Malek and Angela Sarayan and finally Irish vampire Patrick Brennan Now we have the next Irish vampire, Marlane Barnes who plays Maggie:
Your character Maggie knows when people are telling lies. Are you good at telling when people are lying to you in real-life?
Marlane: I like to think I’m a pretty good judge of character now. I feel like that’s one of the things that acting has done for me is you get to see when people are acting.
What was it like to see yourself in your full costume and makeup and the vampire eyes for the first time?
Marlane: It’s pretty amazing, actually. You know, cause the costume designer Michael [Wilkinson] was really open with us about like ‘Oh, do you like this? Do you like that?’ and I remember just kind of being like, ‘Oh yes, yes, yes, all of that.’ It wasn’t until later that I was like why did I agree to these high-heeled boots? You know, everything came together in this way that really I feel like gave the Irish Coven a sense of time and place, and you know the eyes do a lot of the work for you. You put those red vampire eyes in and you don’t even really have to do any acting because you just are cool. I think that was pretty awesome.
What was it like working with Patrick [Brennan] and Lisa on set?
Marlane: Oh, it was great working with Patrick and Lisa. Lisa is so much fun. She’s a Broadway musical theater actress, so she’s very jolly and we joked around a lot and sang a lot of songs, and Patrick is really just the perfect example of a gentleman giant. He’s tall, he’s sweet, and he’s softspoken. You know, he’s very heartfelt, so I couldn’t have asked for a better couple of people to spend all that time with.

It’s the end of an era, Twi-hards.
After a sneak peak of the final trailer for The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn — Part 2 premiered at the VMAs, the full-length version has arrived. And as Kristen Stewart’s Bella says, “I thought we’d be safe forever, but forever isn’t as long as I’d hoped.” In the film, she is referring to the Volutri coming to destroy her family, but it works just as easily for the fans who wish the series could keep going and going. Watch the video below!

Yesterday MTV showed two brand new stills from Breaking Dawn – Part 2 along with a fantastic interview with Bill Condon as part of their Fall Movie Preview. Now we have those two new stills, in gorgeous HQ. The first still of course gives us a great view of Robert Pattinson as Edward Cullen, all bundled up into a turtleneck. The second still shows a scene from the movie with Amazon Coven members Zafrina (Judi Shekoni) and Senna (Tracey Heggins), Edward, Bella (Kristen Stewart) and Carlisle Cullen (Peter Facinelli), and Eleazar (Christian Camargo) and Kate (Casey Labow) from the Denali Coven. Check it all out below:

This is a great still of Edward, it’s a good look on him – almost as good as the peacoat look in Twilight! I’m anxious to see what all of these new vampires look like on-screen in Part 2, there’s so many new ones.
What do you think of the latest stills from Breaking Dawn – Part 2?...

On the Road movie reedited for Toronto screening Based on Jack Kerouac's '50s novel, Walter Salles' Otr adaptation starring Garrett Hedlund, Sam Riley, and Kristen Stewart (above photo) will be screened at the upcoming Toronto Film Festival. We all knew that. What we didn't know is that Tiff 2012 will unveil a new cut of the film (via indieWIRE), which premiered last spring at the Cannes Film Festival to mixed reviews. The 2hr20m drama has been downsized to approximately 125 minutes. That's an interesting development, as Otr has already been screened in several countries, with varying degrees of box-office success. [Check out the On the Road trailer. Check out Kristen Stewart On the Road poster; Garrett Hedlund On the Road poster.] Otr movie reedit hardly unique On the other hand, different cuts shown in different countries is hardly something new. Whether as a result of poor critical/box-office reception, (perceived) local sensibilities, and/or censorship, the movie you watch in, say, Canada isn't necessarily the exact same movie watched by someone in Singapore,...

Summit Entertainment’s “New Face Fridays” with the Twilight Fansites is back again this week this time with our first member of the Egyptian Coven. Have you gotten to see any of your scenes on film yet- and if so what you thought of the special effects?
“Great question I had an Adr* session, I’m sure you guys are familiar with that right?? (Adr stands for Automated Dialog Replacement) So I got to see some of the temporary effects they weren’t quite done but as far as I was concerned they were good enough for me- they really looked brilliant-vibrant and felt very real- I was happy to see that because there were points that I was concerned about- I’m always concerned watching a movie- when something looks as if it was developed from a computer and you can see when it looks generated by a computer it really takes one out of the film so I was happy to see that it really just looks as if I was doing these in reality”
What were some of your favorite moments during filming?- Do you want to talk about the end where they had a dancing scene?
“Yes I’m not the best dancer- so I can’t throw that one down as one of my top moments though it was fun to see Bill’s face light up when we surprised him like that- I don’t know what I’m allowed to talk about in that sense- Favorite moments I would say meeting a lot of this new cast and the old cast and establishing some great friendships. I’m going to see one of the actors right now I’m on my way driving to see one of them-i won’t tell you who it is. I’ve established some great relationships and it’s not often through work that you really hang on to people. It’s funny on a movie set people are always telling one another “I can’t wait to see you and talk to you and keep up this relationship” and I’ve had great experiences- after doing the Pacific I still hang out with all of the boys that we make believe fought a war with- And with this group- I’m not going to say I hang out with everybody but there’s a lot of phone numbers that get used in my little call log and vice versa which is nice I think I will know these people for a long time- most of them.”

Summit Entertainment has introduced “New Face Fridays” with the Twilight Fansites, where each week through October, we’ll get a chance to get to know a new member of the Breaking Dawn – Part 2 cast. This week we have Casey Labow who will be playing Kate of the Denali Coven. Read more below:
Q: Can you tell us about your audition process for the role of Kate?
A: I believe it was five [auditions], if I remember correctly, it was four or five. Initially, they didn’t tell us which part was for, it was for a “Russian sister.” We weren’t given the exact specifications and we were given these fake scenes that were sort of relevant to the story but weren’t actually from the script. They were sort of this rewrite to make it ambiguous so we wouldn’t know who it was, because if you didn’t get the part they didn’t want you walking away with any plot details. I went back in several different times, they wanted me to do different things like straighten my hair because they thought it looked too much like somebody else, then they gave me some new material. There were a lot of people who had to make the decision and everyone had to come in line. It was my part they had some trouble with because according to Maggie [Grace] and MyAnna [Buring] they just sent tapes in and several weeks later found out they got the role. I didn’t have as easy of a time getting the job.
Q: At what point did you first meet Lee Pace and what was it like working with him?
A: I absolutely adore that man, he is just a delight! You have to get really close to a person when they’re playing your lover, and we just got along right away. I met him on set the first day and the first scene we shot together we had already progressed quickly through the love story so we had to pull it all together right away.
Q: How did you prepare yourself for the role of Kate?
A: Obviously a lot was given in the books, but I also did a lot of online research because the fan following online is so prevalent and there’s a lot of discussion of stuff even outside of the book. So when I read the book, I obviously read all of the parts where Kate and her sisters and her family were present. Then I did some research on where we came from and where we were living, Denali, etc. Kate’s been alive for such a long time, so I did a brief overview of the centuries that she lived in. I familiarized myself with the events she got to witness and the places she got to be which was really fun because I could have been in Versailles with Marie Antoinette or anywhere at anytime. I got to make those decisions and have those backstories in my head.

Q: A lot of the characters are going to have CGI powers, do you think yours will? A: Yes Q: Can you go into detail at all? Will you shock Edward? A: I definitely shock some creatures. Earlier this evening, Kenji put up eight new character banners for Twilight Breaking Dawn Part 2. Turns out these 8 were just scratching the surface on the banners that Summit Entertainment (or Lionsgate as they are now) have released. Below are 22 brand new characters banners from the final movie in the Twilight franchise. Some of them, Kenji placed earlier this evening but there are so many new ones, it was easier to just put them all up.

The Twilight Saga officially comes to an end this year, and last month we caught the first full-length trailer for the final instalment of the series.
With Comic-Con currently running over in San Diego, Summit are naturally using the convention to promote the end of the saga ahead of its November release, and now Yahoo Movies have released eight new character posters.
They give us a look at Carmen (Mía Maestro), Eleazar (Christian Camargo), Irina (Maggie Grace), Kate (Casey Labow), Tanya (MyAnna Buring), Garrett (Lee Pace), Senna (Tracey Higgins), and Zafrina (Judith Shekoni).
Kristen Stewart, Robert Pattinson, and Taylor Lautner will of course be back as the leading trio, alongside Ashley Greene, Dakota Fanning, Michael Sheen, Nikki Reed, and Elizabeth Reaser, with the young Mackenzie Foy playing Bella and Edward’s daughter, Renesmee.
