A lead and supporting actor in Hollywood who began on the New York stage, he is most known for his bold portrayals of men who are headstrong yet transformed in his performances.
Adrian Christian, whose heritage is Italian and Puerto Rican, was born in New York City to his mother, Eva, who was a homemaker and his father, Vicente Florenciani, a factory worker, bank clerk and hotel waiter. After his parents divorced, his family moved out from midtown Manhattan's theatre district, but by that time Adrian had already caught the acting bug. So after school, he'd take evening acting classes where he met his first mentor, actress Miriam Colon. This led to his professional start as an actor at age sixteen, performing in several plays by Federico García Lorca. At the same time, Adrian worked as a singer and performed in his own nightclub act. He continued his studies at the HB Studio with legendary acting teacher William Hickey and eventually took to writing his own plays, two of which he starred in Off-Broadway.
From his theater exposure came offers to work in film and television, where Adrian became enamored with the creative process. Small acting roles followed, beginning with Illuminata (1998), opposite John Turturro and Christopher Walken; Frida (2002), starring Salma Hayek; and a 2003 appearance in TV's Forensic Files (1996).
An L.A. premiere screening for his short film, All Consuming Fire (2015), led Christian to a national tour across America through 2019. In 2022, he completed work on a new film short and three music videos as actor, performer and director, setting his sights toward a return to acting in film and television, and bringing him to true artistic form in A Song for You (2022).
