Have you ever wanted to see Paul Hollywood on stage singing about hazelnut biscotti and Madeira cake? Well, today’s your lucky day (almost), because The Great British Bake Off Musical is a real thing, and it’s headed to London’s West End in 2023. Based on the beloved Netflix competition series, the musical will follow the trials and tribulations of a group of bakers as they enter the hallowed tent, including a policeman, a carer, a High School student, a retired school lunch lady, an environmentalist vegan, and an Italian fashionista. These budding bakers come together to share their journeys of friendship, love, and laughter. The show stars a Paul Hollywood-lookalike with John Owen-Jones (The Phantom of the Opera) playing a silver-fox judge by the name of Phil Hollinghurst. The new cast of West End's Mamma Mia appeared at the Prince of Wales Theatre, and has now moved to its new home at the Novello Theatre from 6 September 2012. The new cast includes Gary Milner, real-life wife Sally Ann Triplett, Neil Roberts as Harry Bright, James Gaddas as Bill Austin, Charlotte Wakefield as Sophie Sheridan, Andreas Gyllander as Sky, Abiola Ogunbiyi as Ali, Tasha Taylor Johnson as Lisa, Steven Oliver as Pepper and Liam Doyle as Eddie. At certain performances, the role of Donna Sheridan will be played by Claire Poyzer. Joanna Monro and Kim Ismay will continue as Rosie and Tanya respectively. Night In Wonderland includes current West End stars including: Charlotte Wakefield (Spring Awakening/Holby City), Chlöe Hart (fresh from playing Tracy Turnblad in the closing production of Hairspray at the Shaftesbury Theatre) and Jeremy Legat (Wicked & Oliver!), together with a handful of special guests from London, beautifully accompanied by a charming three-piece jazz band and talking about their life in the world of showbiz.
