The first trailer and poster for the new Liza Minnelli documentary, “Liza: A Truly Terrific Absolutely True Story,” has debuted.
The poster features a red, white, light blue and black illustration of a young Minnelli, with her signature pixy hair style and long eyelashes, by artist Kii Arens.
The trailer opens with Minnelli sitting in a chair and singing a snippet – “Gather around, I got a story to tell” – form the song “Ring Them Bells.” It shows footage of the Egot winner throughout her more than 50-year career, as well as interviews with her sister Lorna Luft, the late Chita Rivera, Michael Feinstein and Darren Criss. Ben Vereen is shown tearing up talking about the legendary entertainer and daughter of Hollywood royalty, Judy Garland and Vincente Minnelli.

Michael Jackson is one of the biggest legends in music, and it’s no surprise he’s called the King of Pop. During his life, he faced a lot of criticism for different reasons, but after his passing, the talk only seemed to increase. Along with that, some of his interviews and performances started going viral again, but one concert, in particular, really caught people off guard.

Especially for those who didn’t get to follow the star’s career closely, seeing Jackson sing in such a different way from what everyone was used to was shocking. It was just a brief moment during one of his biggest hits where he used a deeper voice, but that was enough to leave everyone speechless and a bit confused.

There must be something in the air lately because I have been seeing and reviewing a number of really good and intriguing documentaries on iconic showbiz figures. At Cannes I saw new docus on Faye Dunaway (Faye), Elizabeth Taylor (Elizabeth Taylor: The Lost Tapes) and others on Michel LeGrand and Jacques Demy. Currently on Max you can see a wonderful docu on the great Albert Brooks directed by his longtime friend Rob Reiner, Albert Brooks: Defending My Life.
Add to the list of must-sees in this sector Liza: A Truly Terrific Absolutely True Story, which clearly has the star’s blessing because she is prominently interviewed in it. The focus ultimately on how she became her own person, especially how she managed to navigate the spotlight put on her after mother Judy Garland’s all-too-tragic death caused much speculation that the same thing might happen to her equally talented powerhouse performer of a a daughter.

Television shows are, inevitably, made up of parts. On the surface, there’s the great, overarching story that begins with the first shot and ends with the last. But, within that narrative, there are small parts: the series, and the episode. It is the smallest of these sub-divisions, the episode, that is most intriguing. A truly brilliant episode can bridge the gap between cinema and TV. It can refine the essence of the best shows into a single, self-contained moment. At its most potent, a perfect episode is like mainlining all the myriad ingredients of prestige television in a single sitting.
But great TV shows do not necessarily beget great episodes and, conversely, great episodes are not always the sign of a great show. The start of 2023 has been dominated by discussions about The Last of Us, a perfectly good series including one stunning episode. In it, two supporting characters...

It’s the most wonderful time of the year – not least because it’s the time of year where people the world over get to enjoy Martine McCutcheon’s star turn in the ultimate Christmas movie Love Actually. Her portrayal of Natalie – the sweary, lovable assistant to Prime Minister David (aka Hugh Grant) – is one of the film’s highlights, and she’s rightly beloved for the role. She’s recently been reminiscing about Love Actually at the ‘20 Years Later’ reunion on ABC:
Martine McCutcheon, who played Natalie in the #LoveActually film, said in a message to @ABC that the film resonates today because "it's so human" and portrays "different, complicated types of love."

Pixar beware: Huida Lin’s film is an entertaining hodgepodge of styles and ideas that could one day turn the animation tide east
It is refreshing to see that, within the digital animation blitz, some things remain resolutely old-fashioned. At one point in this Chinese animated blockbuster, the eighth film spin-off from a popular kids’ TV cartoon series, lead character Bramble (Joseph S Lambert) dresses up as a sexy lady, Bugs Bunny-style, as a diversion. And with his penchant for frequent snack breaks, this lovable lummox – who for obscure reasons lives with another bear, two monkeys and one human in the forest of Bear Ridge – resembles no one so much as the equally gluttonous Yogi Bear.
Bramble winds up becoming smarter than your average bear when he tampers with a cuboid alien artefact that crash-lands in the woods and downloads hidden capabilities into his brain. But it belongs to Avi (Sara Secora), a blue,...

It’s March 17th and if there’s any one, basic, simple apolitical truth we can all agree on, it’s this: You know about the coronavirus. It sounds reductionist to the point of moronic; even the most doltish Neanderthal or Henry Darger-worshipping recluse knows that the world is facing a major pandemic that requires outreach, unity, and physical isolation on a global, unprecedented scale. Whether you’re a responsible social distancer or an asshole who has to get that one last pub crawl in, the sole commonality is that this virus exists.

Lea DeLaria and fiancee Chelsea Fairless have called it quits.
The Orange Is the New Black star and Fairless announced the split by sharing a video on Instagram that had the former couple photoshopped into Liza Minnelli and David Gest's wedding photo, which also featured the late Michael Jackson and Elizabeth Taylor. The 1987 song “It Must Have Been Love" plays over the video.

The Chinese film industry’s insistence on proving that it can make blockbusters that are as dull and crummy as anything to come out of Hollywood (but at only half the cost) continues unabated with Railroad Tigers, a hodgepodge of gags and forgettable chase scenes set during the Second Sino-Japanese War. Wearing heavy goggles and a David Gest beard, Jackie Chan stars as Ma Yuan, a railroad porter who leads a small group of train saboteurs in a fight against the Japanese occupation. It doesn’t sound too bad on paper: the onetime class clown of the Hong Kong action school paying homage to one of his biggest influences, the Buster Keaton classic The General, with a train-set wartime comedy of his own. But Chan is now 62 years old, no longer the daredevil who might break a few bones for a stunt. Compared to the humor and excitement of ...

He has been a friend of Stephanie for the last three years and tried to help her on the show deal with her strong feelings for Irish hunk Jeremy, even though some of his words of wisdom were tough. Strap on your safety helmets, because you're going to want to run your head straight into a wall after this. On the U.K.'s Celebrity Big Brother, one of the contestants, Angie Bowie, ex-wife of late, great starman David Bowie, had just learned of her ex-husband's death. She was understandably distraught, which perhaps led her to make the ill-advised decision to relay the news to fellow housemate Tiffany "New York" Pollard, of VH1 fame. When Angie tells her, "David's dead," however, Tiffany assumes this to mean their other surreal-life celebrity housemate David Gest, who is actually just napping upstairs, and promptly begins to lose her mind. Pandemonium ensues as she spreads the misinformation like the town Drudge Report.A lot of viewers are upset at Celebrity Big Brother (including one Piers Morgan) for what they see as the show exploiting Bowie's death for ratings, even though Angie Bowie consented...

The 'Celebrity Big Brother' house was cast into panic when Tiffany Pollard mistakenly thought fellow housemate David Gest had died. After Angie Bowie was privately informed of the death of her former husband David Bowie, she told Tiffany, ''David's dead'', leading to the mix up. A confused Tiffany quickly became hysterical as she wrongly believed Angie meant music producer David Gest, also a contestant on the show, and not Angie's former husband. Daniella Westbrook eventually managed to calm Tiffany down and told her, ''she means her ex-husband, David''. Angie was informed of the death in private and opted to remain on the...

Welcome to a world where pretty much anything can happen. They call it The Internet.
Sometimes it makes us laugh; often it makes us cry; but most of the time it jumps on us when we’re least expecting and shows us something truly disturbing, then leaves us rocking in the corner of the room. This is one of those times.
The majority of us have quite a job accepting our own DNA-baked faces; forever untagging photos on Facebook which make us look like the lovechild of Mr Bean and David Gest. Come to think of it, what would the lovechild of those two look like? Well, thanks to technology, we can find out ourselves.
The following images are a powerful reminder of just how perfect our own faces are; and a definite warning to keep yours to yourself. Get ready – this is not going to be pretty.

Tinchy Strider, Gemma Collins, Melanie Sykes and Michael Buerk (What?) were all confirmed to be taking part in I'm a Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here! this afternoon.
But in a few years, will we even remember them? Unless they pull some Paul Burrell or Gillian McKeith-style stunts, frankly it's unlikely.
Why? Because we completely forgot these 9 big names have been there, done that and swallowed the testicles…
9. Neil Ruddock
Long after Razor stopped playing for Liverpool, but before he was taking part in Celebrity Big Brother, we forgot that he came seventh on the ITV show. He also 'starred' in a recent episode of C5's Can't Pay? We'll Take it Away, in which he had his stuff respossessed by bailiffs. So, unlike most celebs, the jungle didn't prove to be the lowest point in Neil's career.
8. Nigel Havers
