Standing tall as one of the most widely recognized horror-slasher franchises, the Scream series has continued to hold its ground with several movies so far. Along with one TV show, the series is moving ahead with the development of a seventh movie but not without constant hiccups. A slew of bad news surrounding its cast, production crew, and directorial team sent shockwaves to fans, with more unexpected developments rapidly taking shape.

Beginning in the mid-’90s, the franchise quite literally revolutionized the genre with its unique blend of horror, mystery, and satirical humor. Additionally, it has constantly maintained a steadfast climb with the regular addition of new faces alongside popular ones like Neve Campbell, Courteney Cox, David Arquette, and Roger L. Jackson. Meanwhile, the latest update from the sets of the upcoming movie, while in the franchise’s interest, may also possibly spell its doom.

Exclusive: Yellowjackets actor Kevin Alves has set his directorial debuting though indie heist movie Lucky Weekend.

The film, made through Alves’ 31 Twelve Films, will reunite him with Yellowjackets co-star Alexa Barajas. They will both star alongside Locke & Key actor Jesse Camacho and Jessica Clement (Dream Scenario).

Alves is also the writer on the coming-of-age story, in which 18 year-old Gabe, who finds out his best friend has stolen his winning scratch ticket and wrangles a group of unlikely friends to help him steal it back before it is cashed in.

John Daniel (Life with Luca), Agape Mngomezulu (Ginny & Georgia), Jack Ettlinger (Death Note), Alex Ozerov (Another Life), Luke Hutchie (Ezra) and newcomer Clarice Goetz round out the cast.

Alves is best known for playing the role of Travis on Showtime’s series Yellowjackets, which was picked up for a third season in December of 2022 and is set to begin filming in late spring of this year.

The adventures of the Locke family and Key House are coming to a close.

Locke & Key will conclude with its upcoming third season at Netflix.

“Once we began working on the series, we felt three seasons was the ideal length to bring the story of the Locke family and their Keyhouse adventures to a satisfying conclusion,” showrunners Carlton Cuse and Meredith Averill said in a statement on Wednesday.

“As storytellers, we are grateful that we had the opportunity to tell our version of Joe Hill and Gabriel Rodriguez’s incredible story exactly the way we wanted. We’re keeping the magical keys, though, for our own personal use.”

The series has been a breakout hit for Netflix, landing a third season renewal well ahead of its second season debut.

Netflix has dropped the full-length trailer for Locke & Key Season 2, and it teases a lot of big moments for the family.

Dodge is still well and truly a part of the story, taking over bodies and causing a lot of mayhem for everyone concerned.

But Nina Locke has primarily been in the dark about what the kids have been getting up to, and it looks like she'll be getting some answers throughout the second season.

Nina has been none the wiser about many things, but it's clear she can't shake the feeling that more than she's being led to believe is happening.

Hallmark Channel announced that former “Desperate Housewives” stars James Denton and Teri Hatcher are reuniting in the upcoming original film “A Kiss Before Christmas.” The film will premiere during Hallmark Channel’s annual “Countdown to Christmas” programming event. HBO Max announced that Season 2 of “Love Life” will premiere Oct. 28 with its first three episodes.

The second season of the fantasy series, which will consist of 10 episodes total, will debut Oct. 22 on Netflix, the streaming service revealed in Tuesday’s date announcement video.

Netflix on Tuesday announced Locke & Key Season 2 would finally receive its debut this October.

While the exact date has not been revealed, it's nice to know the series will be back on the air by the end of the year.

The announcement was made as part of the streamer's GeekedWeek event, which features announcements about its genre offerings.

While fans have been waiting a while for updates on the second season, Netflix did announce last year that it had already ordered up a third season.

Metrodome have announced that they are set to release the retro slasher Lost After Dark on DVD next month. Directed by Ian Kessner and starring Robert Patrick (T2, Scorpion, The X-Files), Sarah Fisher, Mark Weibe, Jesse Camacho and David Lipper, the film has been described as… “a fitting homage to the slasher flicks of the 1980’s, Lost After Dark draws heavily upon the roots of the genre to fulfil its premise.”

A group of stranded teens turn to an abandoned farmhouse for shelter from the elements but soon find a far greater danger lies inside. When one of the friends is brutally murdered, the group begin to fear they are being stalked by a vicious cannibalistic murderer. Yesterday, HBO Canada, a premium cable network, announced that it has renewed its original comedy series Less Than Kind, a show created by comedian Mark McKinney, for a third season. Besides, the production of the third season should begin later this year in Winnipeg, Manitoba.

In this video, Canadian director Jacob Tierney and actor Jay Baruchel talk about the Canadian teen comedy The Trotsky to Teri Hart during the show Movie Entertainment. The film talks about a seventeen-year-old teenager (Jay Baruchel) from a rich family of Montreal. This guy believes that he's the reincarnation of Leon Trotsky, one of the Soviet Union founding fathers (1917). Besides, at his school, this teenager will try to unionized students.

The film has been in theatres in Canada since May 14.

The first time I saw The Trotsky was during the previous Festival du nouveau cinema in Montreal. Many months later, my perception about this teenager comedy has hardly changed. In fact, The Trotsky is a little bit silly, yet positively irreverent, but it remains a decent film meant for entertainment.

Leon Bronstein (Jay Baruchel), a teenager from Montreal, believes he's the reincarnation of Leon Trotsky, one of the Ussr's founding fathers, and motivated the workers of his dad's factory into a hunger strike. After that, Leon's dad (Saul Rubinek) takes him out of his boarding school and sends him in a public school. By that way, according to his dad, Leon can have the feeling that he is living the life of the real Leon Trotsky. Once there, Leon will try to give to students from his school a real union.

Although the Festival du nouveau cinéma commenced two days ago, this is the first movie from this festival that I review. To be honest with you, I wasn't necessarily attracted by this film since I'm not a fan of teenager comedies. However, despite a few weak spots here and there, you won't regret buying tickets for The Trotsky if you're in for a funny comedy.

Cuesta's follow-up to his controversial 2001 pedophilia-themed drama "L.I.E". explores dark adolescent issues through three friends' reactions after a boy (Conor Donovan) dies in a tree house fire set by local bullies. His twin brother (also played by Donovan) sets out for revenge, and an overweight survivor of the fire (Jesse Camacho) loses his sense of taste and smell, leading him to force his obese mother to lose weight. Their female friend (Zoe Weizenbaum) tries to seduce a grief-stricken patient of her therapist mother (Annabella Sciorra). "It's sort of 'Stand By Me' for a new generation," Cuesta said of the $700,000 film, shot in 25 days in September 2004 on Super 16mm from Anthony Cipriano's screenplay.
