Son of Alun Armstrong.
Played an on-screen son to his father Alun Armstrong in The Hollow Crown. Joe played Hotspur to his father's Northumberland.
Attended Elliot School and completed his higher studies at The University of Bristol.
Has two brothers, Dan, who was in the band The Rushes, and Tom, who is a travel writer.
