Apple TV+ has unveiled the first look at its new eight-episode crime drama “Dope Thief” based on Dennis Tafoya’s book of the same name. Created by Peter Craig and executive produced by Ridley Scott, who also directs the pilot, the first two episodes premiere globally on Apple TV+ March 14, 2025, followed by new episodes every Friday until April 25.

According to the official logline, the series “follows long-time Philly friends and delinquents who pose as DEA agents to rob an unknown house in the countryside, only to have their small-time grift become a life-and-death enterprise, as they unwittingly reveal and unravel the biggest hidden narcotics corridor on the Eastern seaboard.”

Cast members include Brian Tyree Henry, Wagner Moura, Marin Ireland, Kate Mulgrew, Nesta Cooper, Amir Arison and Ving Rhames.

Two and a half years ago, we heard that genre icon Tony Todd signed on to play an “iconic new villain” in the horror mystery / genre-bending thriller Werewolf Game. As we remember his contributions to the genre, fans will soon have the opportunity to witness one of his last roles in the upcoming movie ‘Werewolf Game.’

Still, predictability isn’t the real deficit of this well-meaning and progressive Hulu original that aims to land somewhere in the vicinity of “Some Kind of Wonderful” and “American Pie.” After all, some of the most timeless and irresistible romances stem from tales we’ve all heard a million times before. What’s jarring in “Crush” is the absence of some requisite dose of youthful mischief, a sense of stakes and perhaps even a lightly scandalous touch, integral to the spirit of many of the genre staples Cohen and co-writers Kirsten King and Casey Rackham attempt to revive on their own terms.

YouTube has created a $100 million fund to help amplify the voices of Black creators and artists on its video streaming platform. As part of the initiative, YouTube today announced Bear Witness, Take Action, a 90-minute-plus special aimed at inspiring the platform’s global community to take action for racial justice. Hosted by Common and Keke Palmer, the special will feature YouTube creators, artists, public figures and activists. It’s set to premiere Saturday, June 13 at 6 Pm Et/3 Pm Pt.

Snapchat is adding more shows and contributors to its creator community, a list headlined by Arnold Schwarzenegger and Serena Williams.

The first of the newly conceived Creator Shows premieres Wednesday, with debuts scheduled through the rest of the summer and into the fall.

Also on the Creator Shows roster is comedian Kevin Hart, plus digital-native creators like Emma Chamberlain, Loren Gray, Rickey Thompson, Baby Ariel and FaZe Banks. Exclusive shows will also come from Maddie Ziegler, Keke Palmer, Mackenzie Ziegler, Jordyn Jones, Denzel Dion and Chantel Jeffries.

The social network is aiming to capitalize on its strong ties to young viewers. Snapchat says it reaches 90% of all 13-24 year-olds – more than Facebook, Instagram, and Messenger combined – and 75% of all 13-34 year olds.

For the third time in as many years, a gaggle of top YouTube stars will have to Escape The Night. A trailer has arrived for the third season of Joey Graceffa's murder-mystery-comedy-period piece, which this time will be set among the jaunty ascots and polyester fabrics of the 70s.

The first season of Escape The Night, which premiered in 2016 and ultimately snagged a Streamy Award for its ensemble cast, took place during the Jazz Age. For season two, Graceffa and co traded that environment for a more Victorian vibe. Now, in season three, which was announced in late May, the setting is the 70s. The cast, revealed on May 31, will have to solve a whodunit caper in a small town.
