Jesper Morthorst

Throughout his career, Jesper has produced acclaimed feature films like Tea Lindeburg's As in Heaven (2021) that won the Nordic Dragon Award for 'Best Film' at Göteborg Film Festival, and Guðmundur Arnar Guðmundsson's Heartstone (2016) that won the Queer Lion at Venice Film Festival. In addition, Jesper has a lasting collaboration with two-time Palme d'Or and Academy Award winning director Bille August, producing both Silent Heart (2014) and The Pact (2021).
Jesper has also produced several TV series, including 5 seasons of the TV 2/Netflix series Rita (2012) for which he was nominated as 'Outstanding International Producer' at the Monte-Carlo TV Festival. In 2011, he was chosen as the Danish 'Producer on the Move' at Festival de Cannes.
Jesper has worked as a film producer in companies such as SF Studios (2011-2017), Alphaville Pictures Copenhagen (2009-2012) and Nimbus Film (2003-2008). Today, he runs the production company MOTOR which he founded with screenwriter Christian Torpe in 2018.
