As expected, the recent report that Marvel Studios' is currently searching for an actor to take over from the late Chadwick Boseman as a new take on T'Challa in the MCU has led to several names being churned out by the rumor mill.

Damson Idris, the up-and-coming British Snowfall star who was reportedly up for the role of John Stewart in Lanterns prior to Aaron Pierre landing the gig, was said to be one of the actors who passed on the opportunity to play T'Challa, and was asked about the rumor on social media.

Idris jokingly responded (though not everyone picked up on the sarcasm) that he also "turned down 007, A co-lead film with Daniel Day Lewis and an Eddie Murphy biopic."

Earlier this week, we shared a rumor that Marvel Studios might be planning to introduce a new take on T'Challa to the MCU.

The initial report (via Jeff Sneider) suggested that Kevin Feige and co. were searching for a new actor to play a variant of the same character the late Chadwick Boseman portrayed, but it seems more likely that the studio is actually in the process of casting an actor for the role of the original T'Challa's son, who was introduced at the end of Wakanda Forever.

Whatever the case may be, it appears quite a few actors believe that accepting the role would be akin to replacing Boseman, and either feel it would be disrespectful to the beloved actor, or simply don't want the responsibility of filling those particular shoes.

According to Mttsh, the studio is actually in the process of casting an actor for the role of Black Panther's son (also named T'Challa), who was introduced at the end of Wakanda Forever.

The studio is said to have met with a few actors already, and one would be "sure to piss people off" if he landed the part (take from that what you will).

There was a lot of debate about how the studio may intend to proceed with a sequel to Black Panther following Boseman's tragic passing back in August of 2020, and the decision was ultimately made to forge ahead with Wakanda Forever and have another character take up the mantle.

T'Challa's little sister always seemed like the most obvious choice, and Shuri (Letitia Wright) ended up honouring her late brother and mother (Angela Bassett) by suiting-up as Wakanda's new protector.

In a candid chat with Digital Spy, Nyong’o admitted she felt “envious” of Letitia Wright, who plays Shuri, for getting the more chaotic arc in the film. “That’s how I felt,” Nyong’o shared, reflecting on her emotions. “I felt wrong and, you know, wanted to express it.”

The sequel, filmed 10 months after Boseman’s passing, dove deep into grief, loss, and healing. For Nakia, this meant processing T’Challa’s death at a different pace than the rest of the cast. Nyong’o initially struggled with portraying someone “a little further along in terms of her processing” compared to Shuri’s storm of emotions.

But as filming progressed, something clicked. Nyong’o realized Nakia’s steady presence was vital. “What she was once to T’Challa, she now has the opportunity to offer Shuri,” the actress explained.

Television is a medium that has entertained us for a century. Denzel Washington could make his Marvel Cinematic Universe debut in "Black Panther 3," as the actor has revealed to the "Today" show. His part in the ongoing saga remains unknown, but the two-time Oscar winner says that Ryan Coogler, who helmed the first two "Black Panther" films, is penning a part specifically for him.

"I'm about to play Othello at 70," Washington told "Today" while talking about what the future holds for his career. "After that I'm playing Hannibal. “I’ve been doomscrolling my way through this election season. And I see things from both sides. I understand that people’s lives and rights are on the line,” Pratt said in a column for Sunday Paper, his mother-in-law Maria Shriver’s website. “I also see that there are millions of people who feel overlooked and invisible to our government and are desperate for something to change.”

Pratt went on to recall that his “family was poor” growing up and although his “life has drastically changed” after becoming a movie star, he added, “I’m trying to make sense of the election through the eyes of Americans on both sides.

The cast of Marvel’s Avengers movies have come out in support of Democratic presidential candidate Kamala Harris less than a week before the US election.

In a video posted first on Vanity Fair on Thursday evening, actors Robert Downey Jr, Scarlett Johansson, Mark Ruffalo, Don Cheadle, Chris Evans, Danai Gurira and Paul Bettany playfully riffed on their respective characters in the Marvel Cinematic Universe while encouraging viewers to vote for Harris.

Scarlett Johansson made a call and assembled The Avengers to defeat Donald Trump in the upcoming presidential election and vote for Kamala Harris.

In a video shared by Mark Ruffalo, who plays the Hulk in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, the actors expressed their support for VP Harris and Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz in the homestretch of their White House run.

“Thanks for jumping on the call,” Johansson says as she greets her Avengers co-stars in a FaceTime video call.

Don Cheadle jumps in and says, “I think you mean assembling.”

The video call also included Captain America’s Chris Evans, Black Panther star Danai Gurira, WandaVision’s Paul Bettany, and Iron Man, Robert Downey Jr.

“It is our pleasure to come together and to get the vote out this election,” Gurira says.

As Election Day nears, Scarlett Johansson had her fellow Avengers join forces for a get-out-the-vote video.

In a video shared by Vanity Fair, Johansson, Robert Downey Jr., Chris Evans, Mark Ruffalo, Don Cheadle, Danai Gurira and Paul Bettany came together on a Zoom call to brainstorm a new catchphrase for Kamala Harris as she takes on Donald Trump. Some of their suggestions referenced moments from their respective movies, including Iron Man and Black Panther.

“It just immediately turned into people trying to one-up each other with one-liners,” Johansson told the magazine about the video. “Robert and Mark, bickering like two old ladies. And, of course, I’m the person that’s just trying to organize everybody. It’s very similar to what our dynamic is in the films. It was wonderful to feel everybody assemble around it, and hopefully it will engage our fans in the process of voting.”

It's an interesting time to be a fan of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The franchise's current Multiverse Saga means that you could very well see different versions of your favorite MCU characters, your favorite actors return in different roles, or your favorite characters from pre-mcu Marvel movies make their presence felt on the franchise.
