Los Angeles, April 22 (Ians) Luca Guadagnino will next direct the William S. Burroughs adaptation ‘Queer’ with Hollywood star Daniel Craig and Drew Starkey.

Craig will be seen playing the renowned counterculture author’s alter ego, an outcast American expat who lives in Mexico, and Starkey starring as a younger man with whom he becomes madly infatuated, reports Variety.

‘Queer’ will also topline Lesley Manville, frequent Wes Anderson collaborator Jason Schwartzman; and Henry Zaga, according to inside sources.

The boldly ambitious indie film is set to start shooting this month at Rome’s refurbished Cinecitt Studios where the Mexico City-set movie will be filmed in its entirety.

Lorenzo Mieli’s Fremantle-owned Italian company The Apartment – the internationally expanding shingle behind Guadagnino’s Bones and Alla and Sofia Coppola’s upcoming ‘Priscilla’ – is lead producing ‘Queer’ in tandem with Guadagnino’s own Frenesy Film. Fremantle North America is also on board.

The autumn-winter 2023 Paris Fashion Week season has been a whirlwind with 67 shows and 40 presentations, many with digital viewings of events running alongside the shows. One such event, which closed out Paris Fashion Week, was The Neiman Marcus Awards, which took place last night, March 5, at La Suite Girafe after a six-year absence.

Bold-face names including Emily in Paris stars Ashley Park and Paul Forman, Lori Harvey and Olivia Palermo to various notable names including perfumer Francis Kurkdjian, artist Ivy Getty, fashion influencer Jessica Wang, designers Margherita Missoni and Rick Owens, Sabrina Elba (co-founder of S’Able Labs skincare) and others gathered to celebrate the night’s honorees, designers Brunello Cucinelli, Jonathan Anderson and Amina Muaddi.

Noah Cyrus took to the stage after the Neiman Marcus Awards and sang three of her songs, wearing a ruby chiffon dress with a scarf tied around her head.

Following capsule collections inspired by Hayao Miyazaki’s “Spirited Away” and “My Neighbor Totoro” comes one more limited-edition lineup, this time inspired by “Howl’s Moving Castle.” The collection dropped exclusively on Selfridges.com on Wednesday and will hit Loewe.com on Feb. 2.

What’s great about the Studio Ghibli x Loewe collections is that you don’t have to be a super-fan to find a versatile piece that you can make room for in your closet. Taylor Russell hit the red carpet in Hollywood on Saturday for the AFI Fest premiere of Luca Guadagnino’s cannibal love story Bones and All, and she did so in a white dress with a black bow from Loewe’s Spring 2023 collection.

The showing came days after Loewe announced that the 28-year-old actress had joined the house as a global ambassador and weeks after she opened its Spring/Summer ’23 runway show during Paris Fashion Week. Turns out Russell has her Bones and All boss to thank for all the Loewe love.

“Luca introduced me to Jonathan Anderson last year,” Russell told The Hollywood Reporter of meeting the Loewe creative director. “It was sparks flying everywhere, and it’s a long relationship that we’ve been building together. It feels really authentic.”
