Jeff Kranzdorf is a motion picture, television producer and veteran music business executive based in Los Angeles, California. He is a member of the Producers Guild of America.
Over the past 40 years he has worked actively in virtually every aspect of the record, music publishing, personal management, television production, radio production, distribution, home video and production facilities industries and has been engaged in numerous acquisitions both within and outside of the entertainment and communications industries.
He is the senior manager of Xanadu Media Group/ Kratos LLC managing a motion picture portfolio of 130 titles that includes films starring Academy Award winning actors such as Meryl Streep and Oscar winning directors such as Robert Altman as well as commercially significant titles from actors such as Jason Statham.
He is the former Chief Operating Officer of 24-times Emmy award winning Film Roman LLC, producer of The Simpsons, King of The Hill and The Family Guy. During his tenure Film Roman was also engaged in producing animated programs for Marvel Entertainment and Dentsu Japan.
Prior to that he was the worldwide head of business affairs for Arclight Films with offices in Beverly Hills, Toronto, Australia and Beijing; having over seen business and financing development of more than two dozen original feature films and distribution acquisitions.
He is also a former executive with Casablanca Records & Filmworks; managing director of American Variety International (where he had the #1 record in the world in 1981, "Tainted Love" as recorded by Soft Cell) where he was the publisher of such venerable hit songs as "Little Darlin' (The Diamonds), "Dirty Water", "Sometime Good Guys Don't Wear White" and "Why Pick On Me" (The Standells), "Baby Scratch My Back" and "I'm A King Bee" (The Rolling Stones). While at AVI he also oversaw business operations of two of the music industry's most successful recording and mixing studios: Producer's Workshop in Los Angeles ("Rumours"- Fleetwood Mac, "Aja"-Steely Dan, "The Wall"-Pink Floyd) and Woodland Sound in Nashville (home to more than 50 gold and platinum albums) and the studios' affiliated record, music publishing and personal management businesses. From there he went on to become executive vice president of La Buick Media, senior vice president of Goldstar Home Entertainment, CEO of SurroundPhone Holdings; head of business affairs for Arclight Films, business affairs executive for Mandalay Television and Mandalay Sports & Entertainment. He has worked with management for a diverse range of musical artists from legendary entertainers such as Frank Sinatra, Liberace, Dean Martin, Sammy Davis Jr., Wayne Newton and The Captain & Tennille to rock legends such as Rick Nelson, Fats Domino and Roy Orbison to more contemporary artists such as The Backstreet Boys, N'Sync and O-Town.
Prior to that he was an award-winning writer and producer of television commercials for Time-Life, Hanna-Barbera, Media Home Entertainment, Henson Associates, Arista Records, Sony Music, Grollier Publications, Polygram Entertainment, Universal Music Group, Motown, EMI Music, A&M Records, Waterman Entertainment and Western International Communications of Canada. He also executive produced "This Country's Rockin'" an early country-rock hybrid weekly program for the Westwood One Network. He also served as head of business affairs for Robin Levy Associates, Ms. Levy having been the former president of Elite Models Television division. Clients there included Raquel Welch, Kevin Costner, Cameron Diaz and Rene Russo.
He is member of the Producers Guild of America has produced or executive produced more than a dozen feature-length motion pictures with stars ranging from Channing Tatum to Oscar winner Richard Dreyfus and Emmy winner Armand Assante to name a few as well as an equal number of music television specials and series. Jeff is a former American Film Institute Award nominee and a recipient of awards from the American Advertising Federation and Direct Marketing Creative Guild for his work as a commercial writer/producer.
He produced music specials for Rock n' Roll Hall of Fame members Rick Nelson, Fats Domino and Roy Orbison and others featuring such venerable artists as Dion, Peter "Herman" Noone, The Mamas & The Papas, Donovan, The Grass Roots, Tommy James & The Shondells, Jan & Dean, Sonny Bono and Terry Stafford.
He is a graduate of the University of Southern California's Annenberg School of Communications where he also attended USC's #1 nationally ranked film and television school. He holds a doctorate from SWU and post-doctoral certificates from the USC's Entertainment Law Institute and attended UCLA's Anderson Graduate School of Business.
