Michael D. Russo

Michael Daniel Russo was born in Summit, New Jersey to Charles and Helen (nèe Caccavale) Russo. He is of Sicilian and Neapolitan descent.
Originally a boxer, he won the New Jersey Golden Gloves State Championship in 1975. He got bit by the acting bug and started studying under Edward Moor, who later referred him to the Neighborhood Playhouse School of the Theater.
He moved to Los Angeles in 1985 when he was cast in the hit play "Split Second" by Dennis McIntyre, alongside Denzel Washington, John Amos and Alfre Woodward which premiered at The Mayfair Theatre in Santa Monica, CA.
