Exclusive: Mike Goodridge’s growing UK production company Good Chaos, which is in Cannes with Un Certain Regard title Santosh, has had a minority equity investment from Cameron Lamb’s Paris-based audio platform Alexander.

The investment will give Alexander an opportunity to develop its growing non-fiction IP library, across film and TV formats, while Good Chaos has been able to grow its headcount, operations and production reach.

The companies’ first joint film project is Wife, Witch, Poisoner, Whore, a period thriller based on the Alexander audiobook by Katherine Rundell, and narrated by Helena Bonham Carter.

The official synopsis reads: “Beautiful, rich, clever, and determined English noblewoman Frances Howard was a dazzling celebrity at the court of James I. But when the unhappy teenage bride rebelled against the patriarchy of her day, she was put on trial for witchcraft, infidelity and murder – very nearly at the expense of her life.”

Famed producer Samuel Goldwyn Jr. died at the age of 88 in L.A. on Friday, Jan. 9, the New York Times reports. Goldwyn Jr., dad to Scandal star Tony Goldwyn, passed away at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center from congestive heart failure. Goldwyn Jr. was born into Hollywood royalty on Sept. 7, 1926, the son of movie mogul and founder of Paramount Pictures, Samuel Goldwyn (the "G" in MGM Studios), and actress Frances Howard. Samuel Goldwyn Jr., son of Hollywood founding father Samuel Goldwyn Sr., passed away at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center on Friday, according a report published by Variety. Goldwyn Jr. was 88 years-old. Born in 1926, Goldwyn Jr. was born out of Goldwyn Sr.'s second marriage, which was to the actress Frances Howard. Similar to his father, Goldwyn Jr. spent his entire career producing and distributing films independent of the major studios; first through The Samuel Goldwyn Company, an entity that was founded during the '70s and lasted well into the '90s, bringing films such as David Lynch's "Wild at Heart," Jim Jarmusch's "Stranger than Paradise" and the beloved "Mystic Pizza" to audiences around the country that were specifically hungry for indie film fare. Following a failed merger, Goldwyn Jr. relaunched The Samuel Goldwyn Company during the early 2000s as Samuel Goldwyn Films. Although the current Goldwyn distribution entity does not release groundbreaking.

Samuel Goldwyn Jr, a film producer and executive and son of movie pioneer Samuel Goldwyn, died Friday in Los Angeles. He was 88. The New York Times reported that Goldwyn’s son John said he died of congestive heart failure at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center. The founder of the Samuel Goldwyn Company earned an Emmy and a Best Picture Oscar nom during a producing career that spanned 65 years through 2013’s The Secret Life Of Walter Mitty; his father produced the original in 1947.

Goldwyn’s credits include 2003’s Master And Commander: The Far Side Of The World, which tallied 10 Oscar nominations including Best Picture. He also was a producer on such films as The Adventures Of Huckleberry Finn (1960), Mystic Pizza (1985), The Preacher’s Wife (1996) and Tortilla Soup (2001). One of his rare TV credits was producing the 60th Academy Awards in 1988, for which he was rewarded with an Emmy.
