Mr. Griffin was the assistant costume designer on three projects in 1982 that would be nominated of an Academy Award as well two Emmy Awards. In one he assisted two time Academy Award winner, Emmy Award winner and Tony award nominee, Albert Wolsky on Alan Pacula's, "Sophie's Choice." The two Emmy Award nominations were for his assisting three time Academy Award nominee and seven time Emmy Award winner, Julie Weiss on the television adaption of Bud Pomerance's "The Elephant Man" as well as three time Academy Award nominee, two time Emmy Award winner, Tony Award nominee and enumerable Fashion award winner, Donald Brooks on Warner Brother's television adaption or Summerset Maugham's, "The Letter.".
