Gary Gerani is a professional screenwriter/non-fiction writer and film historian. He is best known for creating and co-authoring the screenplay for Stan Winston's Pumpkinhead, a cult horror film that has spawned three sequels and a planned reboot. Gerani also scripted Showtime's adaptation of the popular Vampirella comic book in 1996, and created/produced a TV pilot in 2017 called Convention. He also has 35 years experience creating and developing countless products for the youth market. He worked on staff at Topps for three decades, before providing similar services for Upper Deck, Rittenhouse Archives, and various related companies. Other creations include a series of trade paperbacks about the film industry beginning with the groundbreaking Fantastic Television in 1977, several graphic novels, and a new, feature-length documentary scheduled for release in 2020. Gerani has won a number of awards over the years, including honors from the Society of Illustrators, the Academy of Science Fiction and Horror Films, and various other organizations.
