- At the age of 5, she began ballet lessons at the Royal Opera in Stockholm and got small parts in the ballets that were performed. The parts became bigger and she wanted to try acting. She did apply to become a student at the Royal Dramatic Theatre but failed in the final test. Instead, she began at Oscarsteatern theater in revues together with Sigge Fürst and Sture Lagerwall. She also took part in the revues by Ernst Rolf. At this time she had already began acting in movies, with a bit part in Fridas visor (1930) and in 1932 she became a contract player for Svensk Filmindustri (SF). She made her breakthrough with Värmlänningarna (1932). Her career continued through the 1930s and 1940s mixed with a lot of parts at the theatre, for example a lot of revues by Kar de Mumma. Memorable movies together with Nils Poppe include Blåjackor (1945), Tappa inte sugen (1947) and Greven från gränden (1949).
