The Eric Red-scripted classic The Hitcher just received a 4K release from Second Sight Films in September (and another one from Warner Bros. last month), and now Kino Lorber has announced that they’ll be giving Red’s film Body Parts (watch it Here) a 4K Uhd release in January! The street date is January 21st, and copies are available for pre-order through the Kino Lorber website.
Directed by Red from a screenplay credited to him and Norman Snider, with Patricia Herskovic and Joyce Taylor receiving story credit, Body Parts is the bone-chilling tale of a medical experiment gone murderously wrong. Bill Chrushank is a criminal psychologist who loses his arm and nearly his life in a grisly car accident. A daring medical operation follows, in which a donor’s arm is successfully grafted onto Bill’s body. But after the operation, the arm starts to take on a violent life of its own,...

Ausiello: We asked co-showrunner Marshall Herskovitz whether the Cmt series was planning to bring on another female to play opposite Deacon or to challenge Juliette. “Yes, the weather is nice today. I just can’t comment,” he responded, laughing. “This has always been an article of faith between [fellow showrunner] Ed Zwick and me, that we feel that the experience of...

Question: Got any scoop for season 2 of Reign? —Nicole
Ausiello: “Any” might be an understatement, Nicole. French Court is going to be visited by four new faces in Season 2, including Princess Claude, the never-before-seen daughter of Catherine and Henry. The “very sexually advanced” young lady will get herself into plenty of mischief, perhaps even more than Narcisse, another (much older) new face who will serve as a sparring partner for her mother. Then there’s Conde, known as the “Prince of the Blood,...

As this comedic series begins, a small Muslim community in the fictional prairie town of Mercy, Saskatchewan (population 14,000) finally gets its own mosque. The only problem is that it's in a church and some of the local residents become irrationally alarmed.
The mosque's new Imam, Amaar Rashid (Zaib Shaikh), arrives from the big city to smooth things over. Unfortunately, his easy charm and progressive ways do little to convince the locals that Muslims aren't simply a bunch of terrorists.

Although CBC, a Canadian public TV network, didn't make any announcement, the fifth season of Little Mosque on the Prairie, a sitcom, begins production today in Ontario.
This show follows Amaar Rashid (Zaib Shaikh), a young and "liberal" Muslim imam from Toronto. He decides to go live in a small town of the Canadian Prairies (hello stereotypes!) where a small Muslim community coexists with "white" (if you know what I mean) people. Besides, it appears that the town's mayor (Debra McGrath) and one of her councillors (Sheila McCarthy), are so in favour of Canada's multiculturalism policy, which isn't an immigration policy in case you're too dumb to know.
The show also stars Carlo Rota, Sitara Hewitt, Brandon Firla, Neil Crone, Stephen Lobo and Arlene Duncan.
Finally, it appears that Little Mosque on the Prairie will premiere on CBC this fall.
