Acccording to the October 11, 1968 issue of "Life" magazine, he was one
of five finalists for the role of James Bond in
On Her Majesty's Secret Service (1969). The others were Robert
Campbell, George Lazenby, John Richardson and
Anthony Rogers. Lazenby got the part and De Vries and the
others disappeared into the obscurity whence they came.
